Our post-Thanksgiving travels have taken us to a quiet neighborhood in Topeka, Kansas where across the street from each other stand two landmarks that are as different as love and hate. I am talking about the infamous Phelps’ families Westboro Baptist Church and Topeka’s rainbow painted Equality House.
The two stand no more than 300 yards across from each other and could not be more different.
One sits with a welcome sign and a community garden for those in the neighbor hod to harvest fresh grown vegetables and welcomes people up onto the lawn and the other is a cult compound with a high fence, tresspassing signs and surveillance cameras.
Those who live in the neighborhood seem unfazed and go about their daily business but the stark difference between the two properties is a brutal reminder of the war that is being waged in America at this moment between love and hate.
Anti-LGBT hate group leaders and activists from around the globe will gather in Barbados this weekend to spread propaganda and lies at a gathering hosted by the World Congress of Families (WCF).
Designated an anti-LGBT hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, WCF provides a platform for some of the most virulently anti-LGBT extremists from around the world.
WCF has held previous Caribbean conferences in 2012 and 2013, both in Trinidad.
Veronica Evelyn the WCF coordinator of the Caribbean hate-fest states: “Dysfunctional family structures are a legacy of the Caribbean’s colonial past. Strong nations are built on strong families and the WCF conference will provide a platform for equipping leaders across the Caribbean to firmly define and passionately pursue core values regarding marriage, family and human sexuality.”
Conference speakers include Theresa Okafor, who has compared LGBT people to Boko Haram, notorious hate group leader buffoon, Brian Brown. president and co-founder of the National Organization for Marriage, Glenn Stanton of Focus on the Family and “Dr.” Michael Combs of the National Family Association.
World Congress of Families has held past regional conferences in Canada, Trinidad, Bolivia, London,, Kenya, Nigeria, Serbia, Moldova, Latvia, Ukraine, Russia.
Although the WCF is a project of the Illinois-based Howard Center for Family, Religion and Society, donations and dues from the usual anti-LGBT suspects such as Focus on the Family, NOM, and Tony Perkin’s Family Research Council its been discovered recently that the GFC Foundation (God, Family and Country) which is run by Utah’s Sutherland Institute’s chairman Stan Swim who also happens to serves on the WCF’s board of directors and GFC has donated over $300,000.00 to the WCF hate group to hold their conferences.
WCF supporter and affiliate Scott Lively, who may also be attending the conference, traveled repeatedly to Uganda, claiming that LGBT people are responsible for the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide and the spread of HIV and AIDS and is not only tied to but has also been named
As reported here last week The Satanic Temple, a community of worship “devoted to the Dark Lord” preformed what they called a “Pink Mass”over the grave of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps Jr.’s mother, Catherine Idalette Johnston that supposedly would turn the hatefully insane Westboro Baptists Church’s deceased straight mother’s spirit into a homosexual one— not unlike the Mormon practice of baptizing the dead, only much much gayer.
Now comes word that the Meridian Mississippi Police Department says arrests are coming for the stunt and they aren’t the least bit amused.
“Meridian Police have reached out and spoken to Mr. Arlinghaus of Magnolia Cemetery,” says Captain Dean Harper of the Meridian Police Department. “We are in the process now of constructing affidavits and warrants against these individuals, and we will have them arrested as soon as we can.” A group from New York’s Satanic Temple made the trip to Meridian to protest the Westboro Baptist Church. There, they performed a ritual they call Pink Mass on the grave of Catherine Johnston, the mother of Westboro founder Fred Phelps, Jr. The ceremony involved two same-sex couples kissing over her grave. They then declared Catherine Johnston a lesbian in the afterlife. “It is an unusual crime that we haven’t come across to my knowledge in awhile,” says Harper. “Not only does it violate a state and city ordinance, but it also violates the moral decency of a human being.”
Is this a form of “religious persecution? Will police all over the country rush to arrest all those who performed post-humous conversions to Mormonism? And will they now have a problem onvincing Catherine Johnston spirit to stop being a lesbian for all eternity?
Check back for further updates.
No doubt Phelps and his WBC crew, the ardent and vociferous advocates for free speech and the right of protest, will be rushing to defend the Satanists and their 1st Amendment rights
The Satanic Temple, a community of worship devoted to the Dark Lord, has been preforming a “Pink Mass” over the grave of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps Jr.’s mother, Catherine Idalette Johnston that turns the deceased’s straight spirit into a homosexual one— not unlike the Mormon practice of baptizing the dead, only much much gayer.
The Satanic Temple went to the Phelps family graveyard in the Magnolia cemetery in Mississippi to perform the ritual. (Two Pink Masses were performed, one with a female couple and another with men.) where they read “scriptures”, lit candles, and a held a ceremony where the gay couples kissed over the grave, thus turning Fred Phelps mother gay.
The Temple said the idea for the mass came about in April, when the WBC announced their intention to protest the funerals of the Boston Bombing victims. The church never showed up, but later issued a statement saying they were there “in spirit.” So the Satanic Temple decided that a ceremony celebrating same-sex couples “at the grave site of Fred Phelps’ mother was an appropriate way to meet the Westboro Baptists, ‘in spirit,’ but this time on our terms.”
A five-year-old girl named Jayden Sink took matters into her own little hands and set up a pink lemonade stand at the rainbow painted Equality House, across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka Kansas to raise funds for the organization Planting Peace .
Well the WBC didn’t look too kindly on that as they not only attempted to call police on the little five-year-old and then stood across the street screaming curses at her and her customers when the Police decided not to interfere with her business.
“Jayden, who is from Kansas City, decided to set up her stand at the Equality House after her parents explained to her the significance of its construct. After being told that the church across the street had a message of hate, she set a goal of raising money to go towards a message of love and peace.
So she painted a banner for the event reading, ‘Pink Lemonade for Peace: $1 Suggested Donation.’ She put the stand in the grass and waited. But the waiting didn’t take long. Supporters came in by the droves and $1 turned into hundreds of dollars.
During the day, Westboro sent representatives outside to try and find a way to stop the event. They apparently attempted to call the local police and stooped to yelling profanities when that didn’t work, like calling a group of soldiers who rode out on their motorcycles to support the event ‘bastards.'”
But fear not, Jayden managed to raised over $400 at her lemonade stand thanks to the free publicity courtesy of the WBC.
Maggie Phelps, spokesthing spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church (Where’s Shirley? Pregnant with another bastard child perhaps?) and their endless, tiresome and just plain insanely evil “God Hates Fags” says that they are planning a protest at a NASCAR race. Tueday, Phelps Tweeted. “NASCAR is racing fag cars.”
The inbred Phelps Klan has given no reason why they have chosen NASCAR. But it seems that it may have been an interview by the gay website Queers4Gears had with NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski . The current Sprint Cup Champion Keslowski said in the interview that there was room for an openly gay driver in the sport. In a seperate tweet, Phelps linked to an SB Nation/Outsports article that had picked up on the Keselowski interview, adding, “Next they’ll have a splashy fag wedding.”
NASCAR has said that they agree with what Keselowski statement about that it would be fine if there was an openly gay driver on the NASCAR circuit and will stand with their driver.
Intrepid reporter Brick Stone (Comic Dave Sirus) followed the inbred members of the Westboro Baptist Church to the Malibu Presbyterian Church and Our Lady of Malibu Catholic Church the morning of Feb. 24th 2013 to “interview” them and provided some of best WBC interview questions ever:
“Have you ever wondered how good gay sex must be if they’re willing to go to hell for it?”
“Can a person go to heaven if he has homosexual urges but refuses to act on them, and he’s so upset about the openly gay people that he makes his whole family have signs that say ‘God hates fags’?
“Would you glass bottom boat Pat Robertson?”
“Didn’t I jerk you off in a K-Mart bathroom once?”
HYSTERICAL!
Note to Brick: “Its only longer?” Hellooooooooooooo buddy!
Megan Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Chruch clan and perhaps best know recently for being Shirley Phelps Ropers second in command and her hateful musical parodies mocking Lady Gaga and other pop stars has left the Westboro Baptist Church.
“We know that we’ve done and said things that hurt people. Inflicting pain on others wasn’t the goal, but it was one of the outcomes. We wish it weren’t so, and regret that hurt. We know that we dearly love our family. They now consider us betrayers, and we are cut off from their lives, but we know they are well-intentioned. We will never not love them. We know that we can’t undo our whole lives. We can’t even say we’d want to if we could; we are who we are because of all the experiences that brought us to this point. What we can do is try to find a better way to live from here on. That’s our focus. Up until now, our names have been synonymous with “God Hates Fags.” Any twelve-year-old with a cell phone could find out what we did. We hope Ms. Kyle was right about the other part, too, though – that everything sticks – and that the changes we make in our lives will speak for themselves”
Megan I wish you luck on recovery and doing your penance. But first you must start by being honest.
“Inflicting pain on others wasn’t the goal.” is a a bullshit cop-out. I was EXACTLY the goal. And until you owe up to it and make up for it there will be no forgiveness and no true repentance.
Below is a clip of Shirley and Megan Phelps-Roper media whoring on the Ricki Lake Show talking about gay teens.
Calling all Marylanders who are sick and tired of the Westboro Baptist Church loons
Tomorrow January 2nd, the WBC will descend on 2 Baltimore area courthouses to picket same-sex marriage in Maryland.
They’ll be at The Circuit Court for Anne Arndel County, 7 Church Circle, Annapolis, MD 8:00am – 9:00amand then at the Baltimore County Circuit Court, 401 Bosley Ave Towson, MD from 10:00 am – 10:45am. (I wonder if Bishop Harry Jackson will with them?)
Make sure you give them a warm Maryland welcome.
May I suggust the pelting of them with imitation crab meat? The real stuff is too good for them.
The cowardly members of the Westboro Baptist Church showed their true “righteous colors” this week and never left their hotel rooms in Newtown CT, after nationwide outrage, cyber-attacks and volunteers from all across the United States traveled there, to form a human barrier to prevent them from reaching the memorial service for Sandy Hook Elementary principal Dawn Hochsprung.
Hundreds off duty police officers, firefighters, bikers and concerned and disgusted citizens traveled across country to join with locals in forming a human barricade to stop members of the church from trying to picket.
Last week a website for members of New York’s Fire Department put out a call for off duty emergency workers to travel to Sandy Hook and a day before the memorial service the estranged son of Westboro pastor Fred Phelps had released a statement condemning the planned picketing action.
‘My sincere hope is that the Sandy Hook community is able to grieve and mourn privately, and with whatever peace can be had in knowing the rest of the world mourns with you,’ wrote son Nate Phelps, who is a board member of the group Recovering from Religion.
ANONYMOUS the worldwide Hacktivist group also became involved and declared war on the Westboro Baptist Church by hacking into Phelps-Roper twitter account and taking it over Also ANONYMOUS disrupted several of the WBC websites by launching Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks against them, and has leaked the personal details of several members, such as home addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
In turn the internet security company the Westboro Baptists have hired to protect its website from attacks announced that it would be donating the money it received from Westboro to charities supporting the Newtown community, veterans groups like the Wounded Warrior Project, and LGBT groups like The Trevor Project.’
This is how you fight hate and evil You STAND UP and FIGHT BACK. You don;t ignore it.
Well done to all involved.
How about the Family Research Council next? Same boat, different crew.
