Is Adonis Matt Bomer Too Gay To Be Grey?

There has been a lot of discussion on who would play the strongwilled  Christian Grey for the book adaptation of the book Fifty Shades of Grey with some of Holloywood’s most swoonworthy men. And a name commonly thrown around is the beautiful flawless Adonis Matt Bomer.

Bret Easton Ellis calls the fan xating of the perfection Matt Bomer would be “Ludicrous” . The esteemd writer of American Psycho and Rules of Attraction proclaimed  via twitter that because of Matt being in a longterm relationship with his partner,he  would complicate the role.

Ellis tweeted “I don’t care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG…Matt Bomer is NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele…the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer–a gay actor–play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?”

Probably after realizing that he had stirred up some controversy, Bret said “Matt Bomer is NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele.” He continued on this rant for several more tweets.

The debate over whether an openly gay actor can “adequately” portray a straight man  reached a fever pitch a couple of years ago  when Sean Hayes and others were questioned on their ability to play “strong straight” male roles.

Seriously what the hell is this? I could tell him just because if he read William Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe growing up doesn’t mean he’s a great writer couldn’t I? it”s not about sexuality here.

IT’S CALLED ACTING. The notion that any actor can’t portray ANY sexuality is completely ridiculous. And why would’t the writers of Fifty Shades of Grey want Matt? If they’re trying to pull in their key demographic which I presume is 18-49 year old women, who would swoon for this man? Not to mention the multi-millions they would earn from the movie from GAY MEN. Oh yes they’d definitely consider it.

I’m not saying their isn’t a bountiful amount of stereotyping in Hollywood and it’s not hard to believe that some actors are advised to stay in the closet. But I believe that mindset is starting to change. I think the book is terrible but if Matt Adonis Bomer is in it, they don’t have to tell me anything and can just take my money.

I mean seriously, LOOK at this picture of perfection! Bret does not know what he’s talking about.
