Citing DOMA Obama Administration Orders Expulsion Of Gay Married Immigrant Who Cares For His HIV+ Spouse

This is a story thats so tragically sad it breaks your heart and shows the true face of the Obama Administration and just how set in its view of us as  second class citizens it really is despite all the pretty words, promises and false hopes.

The Obama administration citing DOMA has denied immigration benefits to a legally married gay couple from San Francisco and ordered the expulsion of a man who is the primary caregiver to his AIDS-afflicted spouse.

Jesus wept.

Bradford Wells, a U.S. citizen, and Anthony John Makk, a citizen of Australia, were married seven years ago in the state of Massachusetts and have  have lived together 19 years.   The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services denied Makk’s application to be considered for permanent residency as a spouse of an American citizen, citing the 1996 law that denies all federal benefits to same-sex couples.

John Makk has been ordered to depart the United States by Aug. 25. John is the sole caregiver for his spouse Wells, who has severe health problems due to AIDS

“I’m married just like any other married person in this country,” Wells said. “At this point, the government can come in and take my husband and deport him.  I have no power, no right to keep my husband in this country. I love this country, I live here, I pay taxes and I have no right to share my home with the person I married.”

This is why I won’t be funding the Obama presidential bid again. Obama was publically FOR same sex marriage while he was then Senator but has turned against the LGBT community once he became president. Now he is for second class status (civil unions)  Any LGBT rights incrmenets that he brags so loudly about have been made by working around existing laws and not challanging them directly.
 
This is the last chance for President Obama to prove himself and to personally intervene.
 
As for The Human Rights Campaign, The Task Force, GLAAD you best STAND UP and CONDEMN The Obama Administration for this because it’s your last chance also! 
 

 

TRAGIC – Gay 16 Year Old Boy Savagely Murdered In Glasgow, Scotland

Jack Frew and a friend were attacked and slashed with a knife in Glasgow while walking home on Thursday night. Jack died soon after the violent assault and the other victim, 17-year-old Craig Roy, remains hospitalized.  Glasgow police are still seeking a motive, but at least one news source, newsoftheworld.uk claims that “it’s been suggested this was a homophobic attack.”

The Scotsman newspaper reports:

The 16-year-old was stabbed on a cycle path in East Kilbride’s Mossneuk area on Thursday night.

Frew, who stated his sexuality as “gay” on his MySpace profile, was a pupil at Duncanrig Secondary in East Kilbride and was described as a gifted actor who was well liked and respected in the school.

Hundreds of well-wishers wept and hugged each other as they left flowers, cuddly toys and messages at the scene yesterday. One message on a card from ‘Christopher’ read: “I don’t know how we are going to cope without you and we miss you something awful already! They say God only takes the best and you truly are.”

News like this just breaks my heart. My deepest sympathy to Jack’s family and friends.
