Putin's Convoy, - STRIKE THAT - GOP Senators Meet With Zelensky

Putin’s Convoy, – STRIKE THAT – GOP Senators Meet With Zelensky

Via CNN:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed to Kyiv a congressional delegation led by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Zelensky said on his Instagram account that the visit “is a strong signal of bipartisan support for Ukraine from the United States Congress and the American people.” He added: “Thank you for your leadership in helping us in our struggle not only for our country, but also for democratic values and freedoms. We really appreciate it.”

In other words: Zelenskyy met with a bunch of people who thought Trump trying to extort him wasn’t worth impeaching him over.

Other than Moscow Mitch, Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, John Barrasso of Wyoming and John Cornyn of Texas were also present.

I’m actually surprised Susan Collins could make it after that heinous chalking attack

GOP Sen. Susan Collins Says Bad Comments Against Her YES Tax Bill (Scam) Vote Are “Sexist”

Via Politico:

Sen. Susan Collins on Tuesday blasted coverage of her support for the GOP tax bill as “extremely discouraging” and “unbelievably sexist.” The Maine Republican, a key swing vote on the tax package, accused reporters of ignoring her influence over the final legislation and unfairly criticizing her efforts to pass a pair of Obamacare stabilization bills.

“I believe that the coverage has been unbelievably sexist, and I cannot believe that the press would have treated another senator with 20 years of experience as they have treated me,” she told reporters in the Capitol. “They’ve ignored everything that I’ve gotten and written story after story about how I’m duped. How am I duped when all your amendments get accepted?”

Dear Sen. Collins:  Its not sexist to call you a stupid bitch when you indeed are being a STUPID BITCH!

Senate Republicans Pass Tax Scam Bill, Cuts Health Care and Gives Big Biz Tax Breaks

The Pepublican controlled Senate passed the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” a massive overhaul of the tax code, 51-49 at 1:50 am Saturday morning after last-minute changes and an array of  GOP senators’ wish-lists were added to the bill.

The Senate’s tax scam In all,  permanently cuts the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent, and repeals Obamacare’s individual mandate, estimated to leave 13 million fewer insured over the next decade. The tax act will lowers tax rate for most Americans until 2026, overwhelmingly advantaging the country’s wealthiest.

Republicans are banking  that massive tax cuts for corporations and the upper class will bring back jobs and investments, to grow the economy at historic rates.  A plan much like the Reagan era’s trickle down economics which was a massive failure.

“If I’m wrong, we’ll pay a price. If I’m right, it will make sense,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told reporters.

Democrats spent hours objecting to the secretive process of the last minute changes to the tax act as they waited for Republicans to finalize the bill.  As the night dragged on, very few lawmakers had seen the legislative text, aside from sections that were being leaked or otherwise shared.

Early in the evening, Hawaii Democrat Brian Schatz posted on Twitter to ask, “Does anyone know a Republican lobbyist so I can get my hands on a copy of this bill?”

Democrats spent hours objecting to the opaque process Friday as they waited for Republicans to finalize the bill. As the night dragged on, very few lawmakers had seen the legislative text, aside from sections that were being leaked or otherwise shared.

Early in the evening, Hawaii Democrat Brian Schatz posted on Twitter to ask, “Does anyone know a Republican lobbyist so I can get my hands on a copy of this bill?

Now with the bill passed in the Senate, for both chambers of Congress to come together to hash out the differences between their bills.

Because despite months of negotiations between top House and Senate members and members of Trump’s administration — a working group dubbed the “Big Six” — Republicans in the House and Senate came out with two drastically different bills neither of which benefit the average american citizen.

Lieberman, Collins To Introduce Free-Standing DADT Repeal Bill – DON’T FALL FOR THE HYPE AND LIES AGAIN!

Via The Hill

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said Thursday he’ll introduce a free-standing bill to repeal the military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Lieberman said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) agreed to bring legislation to the floor to do away with the military’s prohibition on openly gay and lesbian service members.

The Connecticut independent said he would introduce the legislation as soon as today with language that mirrors an amendment to the defense authorization bill.

Oh this is RICH!   I’m sure Mitch McConnell is going to let Susan Collins help pass a free standing pro-LGBT bill. And do they really expect us to  believe that amendments and time won’t matter to to Collins and the ReTHUGS the time?

Will Collins bring any other ReTHUGlicans along? She didn’t today now did she.

And not to mention the fact that even if the bill were to be introduced and passed, it would have to go to the House for passage where Ike Skelton is the chair of the House Armed Services Committee and is a proud homophobe. Pelosi may have a way around him, but this feels like more and more drama, forced by Obama’s refusal to allow the finding of DADT as unconstitutional to stand

This is a bad joke at our expense.  Just something to quell the immediate outrage.

One can only imagine what White House and HRC strategy on this one. (Probably like the last time  NO STRATEGY!)

Fuck us once shame on us.  Fuck us as many times and continually as you have and if we don’t do anything and stand up we are nothing but abusive loving sluts.

DON’T FALL FOR THIS HYPE AND LIES AGAIN!!  This is like an abusive husband bringing flowers.  “I’m sorry, lets try again.  I promise I’ll be better.”

Well it won’t be and we shouldn’t fall for it again.

EXCLUSIVE – Sen. Susan Collins Attempting To Hold DADT Repeal Hostage Until After Tax Cuts Vote

While everyone is running around predicting when the FIRST TEST VOTE for the Defense Authorization Bill (the vehicle for Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repeal) will happen.  Lets look at the sealing being the scene to see if a FINAL vote really does have a chance of happening and whats standing in the way.

The answer to part of that is simple.  Whats standing in the way is Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME).  Collins who’ popularity in Maine is at an all time low due to her obstructionist and is looking at a hard re-election in 2012 for her key role in the obstructionist republican party power plays has been playing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the Democrats with demands of what she needs to to support a full Senate debate on the defense authorization bill (after the test vote): 15 guaranteed votes on amendments (10 for Republicans, and 5 for Democrats), and somewhere around four days to debate the bill.

Via Talking Points Memo:

“The majority leader’s allotment of time for to debate those amendments was extremely short, so I have suggested doubling the amount of time, assuring that there would be votes, and making sure that the Republicans get to pick our own amendments as opposed to the Majority Leader.”

“If he does that I will do all that I can to help him proceed to the bill. But if he does not do that, then I will not.  Everyone on the Republican side wants to see the tax package completed first,” Collins said.

And it turns out that Collins’ requested that Harry Reid delayed the test vote he’d planned to hold last night also.  With Collins reminding Reid that Republicans don’t want to debate anything until the tax issue is resolved. “I have urged the majority leader to postpone the vote…so that we could get the tax bill considered first — which I believe could be on the floor tomorrow — and completed by Saturday, and then move immediately to the DOD bill, but under a fair agreement.  Collins warns that any test vote before the tax cut issue is resolved will fail, even if he agrees to her terms.

So even if the test vote DOES get approved the Republicans will have 4 days to debate it on the floor which would move a final vote until the end of next week and can add 10 admendents of their liking (Viagra for sex offenders) to try to kill it if the Tax Cuts Package Bill is now completed first. And there is no guarantee that even if the Tax Cuts Package IS completed before a final vote on the DADT Repeal that they won;t try to kill it.

Daily DADT News Clusterf**k Round-up: Is Robin McGehee and GetEQUAL Becoming Part Of Gay Inc?, Lieberman "We Got 60 Votes!", Senators Susan Collins and Carl Lugar MIGHT Vote YES to DADT Repeal, and Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) Is A NAZI! (Video)

i

*  Oh for the good old days when GetEQUAL and it’s Founder and Co-Director Robin McGehee would be sending out tons of Press Releases to EVERYONE in hopes that someone would print them. (After all, they have the Former HRC PR Assistant Brad Luna on a paid retainer to communicate with the Community.)  But now, McGhee after her last trip to the White House to meet wih Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement Brian Bond has started  giving “EXCLUSIVE” interviews, while the rest of us wait around for the news. And it turns out that McGehee and GetEQUAL has also been talking and discussing strategies with HRC and NGLTF the same two groups that have gotten us into the mess we are in by wasting the opportunity that we had the past two years to move forward. Are McGehee and GetEQUAL selling out?

*  Senator Joseph I. Lieberman is saying that they have the 60 Votes needed to pass the DADT RepealI’ve heard that before.  Fool me once….

 *  Senators Susan Collins and Carl Lugar are saying that they will vote YES on the DADT repeal only if there will be a guarantee of a fair and open amendment process. Personally, I’m tired of bitching about how Republicans and some Democrats are “preventing DADT repeal”. This whole “legislative” process is utterly irrelevant and the kabuki bullshit about this non-repeal language that “needs to pass” doesn’t even need to be happening AT ALL.  All that needs to happen is for Obama to drop the appeal of the DADT court case and then it’s a done deal.  Whoever thought that ANYONE would have to try this HARD and deal with this much BULLSHIT just for the right to fight for their country.

*Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) has an itsy bitsy problem with the DADT Repeal. Like everything: “I would still have a problem with it because there’s no question to mainstream homosexuality within active duty military would have an impact on unit cohesion would have an impact on recruitment, an impact on readiness, that’s been established and written about and chronicled for many many years and I believe we need to continue to keep the focus of our military on the mission of the military”.LIAR . In his book “Conduct Unbecoming” the late Randy Shilts lists precisely how many studies of gays in the military had been done up til then. And yes, there here were a ton of them — and that book came out in the late 80’s. And what conclusion did those studies come to? The same as the new survey. THAT THERE WOULD BE NO IMPACT.

Mike Pence is a Dangerous man….look at him, hate fills him….and wouldn’t he look oh sooo cute in a Nazi Uniform…..it would fit him perfectly

Daily DADT News Clusterf**k Round-up – Early DADT Survey Release? Mark "I’m Not GAY" Kirk, Tony Perkins is SCARED, Lisa Murkowski Is Shady, and Susan Collins Is An Idiot.

* Former U.S. Army Arabic Linguist Ian Finkenbinder, who was discharged from the Army in December was one of the 13 activists arrested at the White House on Monday protesting “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. Finkenbinder offers up a first-person tale of his first act of civil disobedience:

*  Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell is NOW telling reporters that it is “pushing for and…certainly see the merit in using that as a legislative vehicle to get repeal.” as compared to the past few weeks

*  Senator Carl Levin asks General Carter Ham, co-chairman of the Pentagon’s Working Group on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, if he could make every effort to deliver the Pentagon report on ‘DADT’ before the December 1st deadline. – The answer is NO.

*  Senator-elect Mark “I’m not gay” Kirk (R-IL) will be seated on November 29th, putting him in the unique position of being able to vote on the repeal of DADT twice. Earlier this year as a House member, he infuriated LGBT supporters and reversed his previously pro-gay record by voting against the repeal, a move most said was a transparent attempt to pander votes from his teabagger opponent.  And if its one thing Mark Kirk knows its teabagging.

*  Newly elected Lisa Murkowski pf Alaska who beat out her caveman Teabagger opponent Joe Miller still won;t answer how she’ll vote on the DADT repeal like any typical Republican teabagger or not.

*Closet case Tony “Princess Tiny Meat”  Perkins, President of The Family Research Council, is afraid that if DADT is repealed it might cause the Draft to come back. (Which will cut into the amount of rough trade for him at the truck stop just outside Arlington, VA.)

* Whatever will  Senator Susan Collins who purports to be a supporter of LGBT equality do?  Be a good fair, and just  politician or be the bitch she was when sided with her GOP leader, Mitch McConnel, and chose procedure over equality and voted  against Defense Authorization bill/  Enquiring minds want to know/

Collins To Vote NO On DADT Repeal – General James F. Amos, Obama’s Nomination Of Commandant To Marine Corps Testiy’s AGAINT Repealing DADT

General James F. Amos, who is President Obama’s nomination to become as commandant of the Marine Corps testified AGAINST repealing DADT in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee today. (So much for fierce advocacy there Barack.)

“President Barack Obama’s choice to lead the Marine Corps told the Senate Tuesday that Congress should not repeal the law barring gays from serving openly in the military, dealing a blow to gay rights advocates just hours before a crucial test vote…. Amos told the Senate Armed Services Committee he worried that a shake up in personnel policy would serve as a ‘distraction’ to Marines fighting in Afghanistan. ‘My primary concern with proposed repeal is the potential disruption to cohesion that may be caused by significant change during a period of extended combat operations,’ he said in a written statement provided to the panel for his confirmation hearing. During one exchange with Sen. Pete Sessions, R-Ala., Amos said he would implement any changes in the law on gay service made by Congress. He said the Marine Corps would rely on discipline and leadership to ensure order, but that he didn’t envision a gag order on troops who disagreed with revoking the ban. Some Republicans have suggested they fear troops who openly oppose gay service would be punished for speaking out. ‘I don’t see this as a racist issue,’ Amos said. ‘I see this as an anxious issue … because we don’t have the answers yet.'”

There should be no answers because there should have been no questions to start off with.. DADT is just wrong.

What utter bullshit this all is.

ONLY in America does someone have to fight for the right to protect theirr country.

UPDATE:   Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins says she’ll vote against a bill that would allow gays to serve openly in the military unless Democrats agree to extend debate so that her colleagues can weigh in on other issues.

Collins’ position is likely the last nail in the coffin for the Democratic proposal, which would have repealed the 17-year-old law known as “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

A moderate Republican who supports changing the law, Collins was seen as the crucial 60th vote needed to override GOP objections and advance it. The provision was attached to a broader defense bill that authorizes $726 in military spending.

Democrats plan to allow Republicans to offer only one amendment on the bill to address their concern about the gay rights’ provision.

*Maybe it IS time for US to overthrow the Goverment or just get the fuck out of this country.
