A youth pastor faces new charges of video recording girls — some as young as 14 — in the bathroom of the church he was fired from recently.

Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 35, was arrested Saturday and charged with using his phone to video record a woman while she was showering at her mother’s home in Greenwood County. He was fired that day from Gowensville First Baptist Church, where he had worked for six or seven years, a church official said.

Lt. Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said they had videos of possible sexual exploitation of six girls in Greenville County, where the Gowensville church is located. Flood said the videos were taken while the girls were in a church bathroom.

A new bill introduced in the South Carolina Statehouse could put the death penalty on the table for women who get an abortion. House Bill 3549 is an amendment to the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023 and would define “person” to include an unborn child at any stage of development. This would ensure that an unborn child who is a “victim of homicide” or “victim of assault” is given the same protections under state laws — including, up to the death penalty. Rep. Rob Harris said, “If we call it life and define it as life, then why should anyone, not just mothers, why should anybody be able to take that life?”

Someone please tell South Carolina that The Handmaid’s Tale is a work of fiction and was never supposed to be a instruction manual.

During an appearance on “The Stew Peters Show” Wednesday Mark Burns, an extremist Christian nationalist MAGA pastor who is running for Congress as a Republican in South Carolina, declared that if he is elected, he will reinstate the House Un-American Activities Committee so that the government can “start executing people” guilty of treason.”  Burns includes  LGBTQ-supporting parents and teachers as treason.

“I vote to make sure that those parents be held for child abuse,” Burns said. “There is no such thing as trans kids, there are only abusive parents who are pushing that evil, evil sexual orientation onto their child’s mind. I want to make sure that those parents have been held accountable,” he continued. “We should start putting some of those parents in jail for abusing their child’s minds. Especially in the school system, any teacher that is teaching that LGBT, transgenderism, furries, the groomers, any sexual orientation communication in the school system should be immediately terminated but [teachers should also] be held for abusing young children. They were indoctrinating those young minds then; they are doing the very same thing here in America,” Burns said. “The LGBT, transgender grooming our children’s minds is a national security threat because it is ultimately designed to destabilize the republic we call the United States of America. That’s why when I’m elected, I don’t want to just vote, I want to start holding people accountable for treason to the Constitution.

After working at a McDonald’s *snort*, Burns founded a church in Easley, South Carolina, then moved into tele-scamgelism. In November 2020, during the 2020 presidential election, Burns made unsubstantiated claims of fraud. He tweeted his concern towards “those who seek to undermine the sacred election process in our democracy” and shared that “President Trump is the clear winner of this 2020 Presidential election”

This man is deranged and an extreme danger to all in our community and our allies and needs to be stopped at all costs.

Conservative lawmakers in 16 mostly red states across America are considering new legislation that would bar teachers from “introducing concepts of sexual orientation or gender identity to young students”, imitating a new Florida law that opponents have dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” Law.

Falling back on the Ron DeSantis’ and Anita Bryant’s “Save The Children Campaign” playbook of “gay panic” the following states all have anti-LGBT legislation in the works.: Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, Arizona, Iowa, New Jersey, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, South Carolina, Illinois, Rhode Island, Ohio, and South Dakota.

“Battles over sex education in schools have been a constant front in the culture wars that have raged between liberals and conservatives for decades” aid Aaron Ridings, chief of staff and deputy executive director for public policy and research at GLSEN. ““There’s a chilling effect from all of these bills on people who are LGBT”

South Carolina Republicans File Bill To Classify Same-Sex Marriage As “Parody Marriage”

According to the South Carolina Statehouse website, a bill titled the “Marriage and Constitution Restoration Act,” was introduced in the House, read for the first time and referred to Committee on Judiciary on February 15, 2018. “‘Parody marriage’ means any form of marriage that does not involve one man and one woman,” read the bill. “‘Marriage’ means a union of one man and one woman.”

From the bill:

Whereas, all forms of parody marriage and all self-asserted sex-based identity narratives and sexual orientations that fail to check out the human design are part of the religion of Secular Humanism; and

Whereas, the State of South Carolina’s decision to respect, endorse, and recognize parody marriages and sexual orientation policies has excessively entangled the government with the religion of Secular Humanism, failed to accomplish its intended purpose, and created an indefensible legal weapon against nonobservers; and

Whereas, in the wake of Obergefell v. Hodges, 135 S. Ct. 2584 (2015), there has not been a land rush on gay marriage, but there has been a land rush on the persecution of nonobservers by Secular Humanists and an effort by Secular Humanists to infiltrate and indoctrinate minors in public schools to their religious world view which is questionably moral, plausible, obscene, and is not secular; and

Whereas, it is unsettled whether or not sexual orientation is immutable or genetic and is therefore a matter of faith; and Whereas, parody marriages have never been a part of American tradition and heritage; and

Whereas, parody marriage policies and sexual orientation statutes are nonsecular and policies that respect, endorse, and recognize a marriage between a man and a woman are secular, accomplishing its intended objective.

This coming from a state that the age of consent is 16 and you can marry your first cousin.

Oh, and by the way South Carolina: your BBQ sucks.

For years I have been posting about Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and his ties to various White Supremacist  Organizations.  Back in 2001 then Louisiana state Rep.  Perkins addressed and received an award from the Council Of Conservative Citizens, an SPLC certified racist hate group with active chapters in more than a dozen states including South Carolina.

Now this weekend we learn that another follower of the CCC is Charleston mass murderer Dylann Roof.

The Inquisitr quotes from Roof’s just-discovered manifesto:

“But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words ‘black on White crime’ into Google, and I have never been the same since that day. The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored?”

Per its website, the CCC opposes “race mixing” and considers black people “a retrograde species of humanity.”

According to the SPLC, the CCC calls LGBT Americans “perverted sodomites.” and  notes that the membership rolls of the Council Of Conservative Citizens “overlap greatly” with those of the League Of The South,

Perkins’ speech to the CCC (formerly the White Citizens Council) came only five years after he was fined by the Federal Elections Commission for lying about an $82k payment to Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke.

The Council Of Conservative Citizens has either crashed or been taking offline at the time of this posting but its Headlines section is still available and very disturbing.

Everything with this administration is about politics. Everything. Gov. Mike Huckabee told me he was disappointed with President Obama’s “grandstanding.” “All the proposals this president has put forward on gun control would not have stopped this shooting,” he said. According to the GOP presidential candidate, one thing might have stopped the tragedy: A pistol-packing church-goer. “The one thing that would have at least ameliorated the horrible situation in Charleston would have been if somebody in that prayer meeting had a conceal carry or (if) there had been an off duty policeman somebody with the legal authority to carry a firearm and could have stopped the shooter,” Huckabee said.

Its seriously well past time to start bitch-slapping some  people.

 

South Carolina’s Attorney General Alan Wilson Promises To Uphold The State’s Unconstitutional Ban on Gay Marriage

Republican DouchebagsSouth Carolina’s (Republican) Attorney General Alan Wilson has pledged to keep fighting to uphold the state’s constitutional ban on gay marriage – despite the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals pro-equality ruling taking effect earlier today.

Associated Press reports:

Wilson issued a statement Monday hours after the U.S. Supreme Court decided not to hear an appeal of a ruling allowing same-sex marriage by a federal appeals court with jurisdiction over South Carolina.

Wilson says no ruling has been made in a lawsuit by a same-sex couple legally married in Washington, D.C., who live in South Carolina. They are asking to overturn the state’s gay marriage ban. Wilson says he will keep fighting until there is a ruling in that case.

Wilson is reportedly good friends with Florida AG Pam Bondi. He attened her ‘third union’ in the Cayman Islands.

Former Director of S.C. GOP Todd Kincannon Tweets Extreme Hatred Towards Transexuals

Todd Kincannon who in the past has served as both General Counsel and Executive Director of the South Carolina Republican Party and now through his law firm in Columbia, South Carolina represents many GOP and Tea Part campaigns and Tea Party groups took to Twitter this week to express his disgust for transgender people, or “trannies” as he likes to calls them. After transgender activist Kat Haché replied to one of Kincannon’s tweets on an entirely different topic.

The unhinged Kincannon  says he does this to widen the “Overton window,” which refers to a of political ideas that the public will accept. denying transgender people equal recognition under the law more easily as a other then the less extreme notions like Kincannon’s of putting transsexuals in “concentration camps”

Kincannon, in the past has done everything from mocking victims of Hurricane Katrina to laughing about the death of Trayvon Martin,

Lawsuit Filed Against South Carolina School District After Teacher Harasses Gay Teen

A lawsuit has been brought against the Charleston County School District after  West Ashley High School math teacher bullied and harassed a gay student in front of his classmates, resulting in the student’s attempted suicide.

The teacher repeatedly called the student “gay”, “gay boy”, and other names while the student was in front of his peers, and encouraged the victim’s classmates to join in on the name-calling and told the victim’s classmates that the student was in a homosexual relationship with another male classmate, and that they were “boyfriend and girlfriend”.

The lawsuit claims the school district was grossly negligent in failing to properly supervise the teacher, and failing to take steps which would have prevented, discovered, and stopped the teacher’s behavior.

The victim’s family is suing the school district for past, present and future damages associated with pain and suffering, mental anguish, the alteration of lifestyle, and past and future medical bills.

Not surprisingly though according to CCSD spokesperson Jason Sakran, the teacher is still employed by the school district.

In my opinion horsewhipping is too good for the adult teacher that did this to this poor teenager.
