On this day, across America we remember our countries fallen military service people.
Since the Revolutionary War in America LGBT servicemen and women served our country bravely and in silence not only risking the loss of their lives but also careers, friends and family if their sexuality were found out.
Leonard Matlovich, Harvey Milk,, Christine Jorgensen, Gore Vidal, Jim Foster, and Stephen Donaldson are just a few among the countless others served our country and should be recognized and remembered.
So as a community let us give a special thanks and remembrance our gay and lesbians brothers and sisters who fought side by side in silence and fought for this country while having to hide who they truly were.
May we always remember their courage, their bravery and their selflessness for fighting for the freedom of a country that would not acknowledge them or grant them their rights.
They are true LGBT American Heroes and on this day we should remember and thank them all.
This is a disgrace.
WRAL Raleigh reports on a video first posted on Facebook, thought to be shot by a U.S. soldier in Iraq, which shows the soldier taunting two young Iraqi children:
“The 30-second clip shows the two boys standing side by side on a dusty road, and the photographer asks them if they’re gay and engage in homosexual acts. The boys smile and nod, but it’s unclear whether they understand English. ‘Are you going to grow up to be a terrorist? Yeah! All right! Cool! Yeah, terrorists! Woo!’ the photographer says. The boys smile and give a thumbs-up signal. ‘Are you going to plant IEDs?’ the photographer asks. ‘Yeah, awesome!’ The older boy apparently realizes at this point that they are being mocked, and he holds down the younger boy’s arm. The video was posted May 14 on the Facebook page of Robert Rodriguez and titled ‘future gay terrorists.’ Rodriguez describes himself on Facebook as a soldier living in Fairbanks, Alaska. An Army spokesman said a Spc. Robert Rodriguez is stationed at Fort Wainwright, outside of Fairbanks. It’s unclear whose voice is heard on the video, but in posting the video to Facebook, Rodriguez wrote, ‘I was bored in Iraq. So I kept myself entertained.’
Hey Rodriguez next time you are bored and need to be entertained…..GO FUCK YOURSELF!
According to worstpreviews.com a few months ago, columnist Arianna Huffington who is a close friend of the Wachowskis revealed that she and actor/governor Jesse Ventura were part of some test footage that was shot by the Wachowskis (The Matrix). All she knew about the secret project was that it is a sci-fi war movie.
Now the directors are circulating a script for a drama that focuses on a “hard R” relationship between a US soldier and Iraqi. The story begins in the near future and spans back over years that include the current war in Iraq. The script has apparently been completed and the Wachowskis want to make this project their next helming gig. All that’s left is to find some funding.
It could be an interesting movie. IF it gets made and IF it doesn’t get the “I Love You Philip Morris” homophobic distribution tactics by a distributor.
For those who don’t know, the picture above shows (from left to right) Andy Wachowski, Arrianna Huffington, and Larry Wachowski, who is a cross dresser and has been rumnoured sex change and now goes by Lana Wachowski
