SHOWTIME has released the first teaser for its new limited series FELLOW TRAVELERS. The eight-episode drama is created by Oscar® nominee Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia, HOMELAND) and stars Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart, The Boys in the Band)
FELLOW TRAVELERS is a love story and political thriller, chronicling the secret romance of two very different men who meet during the McCarthy-era/Lavender Scare in Washington. Bomer plays Hawkins Fuller, who maintains a financially rewarding, behind-the scenes career in politics and avoids emotional entanglements – until he meets Tim Laughlin (Bailey), a young man brimming with idealism ,They begin a romance just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare war on “subversives and sexual deviants.’
Over the course of four decades, we follow – Hawk, Tim, and other characters as they cross paths through the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled disco hedonism of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s.

The United States Supreme Court announced that it will hear oral argument in Hollingsworth v. Perry, the federal constitutional challenge to California’s Proposition 8, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 and will also hear oral argument in United States v. Windsor, a challenge to the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
A long and winding road that has taken years. Proposition 8 eliminated the fundamental freedom of gay and lesbian Californians to marry. On December 7, 2012, the Supreme Court granted review in Perry to consider whether Proposition 8 violates the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
The Perry case was filed on May 22, 2009, in Federal District Court on behalf of two California couples, Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, and Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo. On February 7, 2012, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued a landmark ruling upholding the historic August 2010 decision of the Federal District Court that found Proposition 8 unconstitutional.
The United States v. Windsor case is a challenge to the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. DOMA nullifies the marriages of gay and lesbian couples for all purposes of federal law and makes them unrecognized by the goverment giving them none of the protections or benifits that hetrosexual amrriages recieve.
The Supreme Court will receive written briefs from the parties in Perry and Windsor prior to hearing oral argument.
