*Wewoka Middle School principal and youth pastor, Cody Barlow was formally charged with two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child under the age of 16 on Thursday. Barlow has been the WMS Principal since the 2019-2020 school year. #NotADragQueen

*A Putnam County youth pastor was arrested and faces charges of possessing child porn, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Ed Wilds III, 45, is a youth pastor at Palatka Baptist Temple Church and a Middleton-Burney Elementary School teacher.  #NotADragQueen

*According to deputies with the SVU unit of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office 58-year-old Robert Henry Gordona a church music teacher was arrested on Wednesday, on charges of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust, sexual assault on a child, unlawful sexual contact. #NotADragQueen

*A former local leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is facing criminal charges for allegedly sexting with a teenage girl in his congregation. Cortney Ted Andrew, a 38-year-old Trenton man is facing four counts of enticing a minor by internet or text, a second-degree felony. #NotADragQueen

*Bobby Cornealius Smith (and his wife), a pastor at New Beginnings Church in Las Vegas, was accused of sexually assaulting multiple victims over 10 years ago. A grand jury has now indicted him on one felony count of attempted sexual assault, 9 counts of sexual assault, and one count of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment. #NotADragQueen

*A former Savannah pastor will serve 25 years in prison and life on probation for child molestation and statutory rape. Alfonza McClendon Sr. was convicted of molesting two children between 2013 and 2017. The molestation happened while McClendon was pastor of the First Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. And once again. #NOTADRAGQUEEN

*Memphis Megachurch Youth Pastor Gets 60 Years For Child Sex:: : A former youth pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church in Shelby County pleaded guilty Friday to 13 sex-related crimes involving children.

*Texas Pastors/Brothers Arrested On Child Sex Charges: Two Leon County brothers with pastoral leadership positions at churches in Centerville and Buffalo were arrested following grand jury indictments Wednesday. The duo is accused of sexually assaulting at least five children, according to authorities.

Mississippi Youth Pastor Arrested On Child Sex Charges: An east Tupelo youth pastor accused of having sex with a 16-year-old church member was ordered held without bond Thursday. Alexander Blackwelder, 26, of Tupelo, is charged with two counts of sexual battery and enticement of a child to produce visual depictions of adult sexual conduct.

MA Youth Pastor Sentenced To 3-4 Years For Child Rape: The vulnerable teens were steered toward a local United Methodist Church — and into the path of a lay pastor, a man who, though not ordained, had been given a type of license by the church to work as a youth minister. On Thursday, Russell Woodman Davis, 70, pleaded guilty to raping and attempting to rape the three boys at various times between 1988 and 2006, in Newbury, Rowley and Salisbury.

*Imprisoned NC Pastor Hit With New Child Sex Charges: Less than two years after being sentenced to prison for sex crimes involving three juvenile victims, Stephen Arthur Morris of Four Oaks was returned to Johnston County today (Thursday) to be formally charged with  four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of first-degree sex offense with a minor. 

Illinois Church Choir Director Gets 88 Years For Child Porn: A Normal man was sentenced to 88 years in prison on Wednesday for criminal sexual assault of a minor and possession of child pornography. Michael D. Schneider worked as a staff member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington before his arrest in June 2021 on the felony charges.

*FL Sheriff’s Deputy Sentenced To 25 Years For Child Sex: 50-year-old Paul Mauricio will be spending the next 25 years behind bars for sex crimes involving a 12-year-old girl. As part of a plea deal, Mauricio, who was an eight-year veteran of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, pleaded guilty to four out of seven sexual assault charges.

GOP Rep Censured For Comment On Fatal Child Abuse: An Alaska lawmaker with a history of incendiary remarks was censured by the state House Wednesday after he said it has been argued that cases of fatal child abuse can be a “cost savings” because the child won’t need related government services.

Kyle Seraphin, a former FBI special agent and federal whistleblower, had obtained a retracted, FBI memo stating that Catholics who prefer the pre-Vatican II Latin Mass are labeled an extremist threat, since they adhere to “anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBT, and white supremacy” ideology.

Titled “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities,” the bureau designates so-called “Radical-Traditionalist Catholics (RTC)” as persons of interest since the designated group offers a recruitment pool for “Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE).”

Released on January 23rd, the document claims that RTCs—adhere to “anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBT and white supremacy” ideology and that such Catholics are opposed to the Second Vatican Council, which among other things introduced a new liturgy and shows a “disdain for popes elected since Vatican II.”

As of 2021, the Southern Poverty Law Center identified nine RTC hate groups operating in the United State.

Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York, chairman of the Committee for Religious Liberty under the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), said on February 16th that anyone espousing racism or promoting violence is “rejecting Catholic teaching on the inherent dignity of each and every person.”

Orthodox Israeli Journalist Yair Cherki Comes Out As Gay

‘I tremble as I write these words,’ Channel 12 religious affairs reporter writes in a Facebook post that quickly goes viral; ‘I love men and God, and this isn’t contradictory

In January 2023, Israeli journalist Yair Cherki came out as gay in a public statement. Cherki, who is Orthodox, had previously kept his sexuality private, citing concerns over potential discrimination and backlash from his community.

Cherki’s decision to come out has been met with a mix of reactions, with some expressing support and others expressing disappointment or even anger. Many have praised Cherki for his bravery in speaking out and challenging stereotypes about the Orthodox community’s views on homosexuality.

However, others have criticized Cherki for what they see as an attempt to “normalize” homosexuality within the Orthodox community, which is known for its ultra conservative and anti-LGBT views on social issues. Some have even called for Cherki to be fired from his position as a journalist, arguing that his public advocacy for LGBT rights conflicts with the values of the Orthodox community.

Overall, Cherki’s coming out is a significant moment in the ongoing conversation about LGBTQ rights and acceptance in Israel. While the country has made strides in recent years towards greater equality for LGBTQ people, there is still much work to be done, particularly within more conservative communities like the Orthodox. HOCKEY: NY Rangers Cancel Player’s Pride Night Jerseys at the Last Minute

Coming just two weeks after a Philadelphia Flyers player earned national headlines for refusing to wear the teams Pride Night jersey because of his “religion”. The New York Rangers did not wear Pride Night jerseys or use rainbow stick tape during warmups on Friday night’ PRIDE night game, despite promoting them in ticket sales materials leading up to the game.

ESPN reports: The Rangers promoted Pride Night to fans by saying players “will be showing their support by donning pride-themed warm-up jerseys and tape in solidarity with those who continue to advocate for inclusivity.” Instead, the team wore their “Liberty Head” jerseys in warmups. The Rangers’ 7th annual Pride Night was celebrated throughout the game in other ways. Fans were given a pride-themed fanny pack as a giveaway. The exterior and interior lights at Madison Square Garden were illuminated in rainbow colors. The Rangers also made a charitable donation to the Ali Forney Center on Pride Night, the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ+ homeless youths in the country.

The Ranger’s statement on not wearing pride-themed warm-up jerseys last night: “Our organization respects the LGBTQ+ community and we are proud to bring attention to important local community organizations as part of another great Pride Night. I n keeping with our organization’s core values, we support everyone’s individual right to respectfully express their beliefs.”

Which in turn asks the question was there NOT A SINGLE PLAYER on the Rangers wanted to express his belief and wear a Pride jersey in support of the LGBT+ community? Or did the Rangers disallow that too? Duly noted.

Two weeks ago after the Philadelphia Flyers player refused to wear the teams Pride jersey the NHL released this statement: “”Hockey is for Everyone is the umbrella initiative under which the League encourages Clubs to celebrate the diversity that exists in their respective markets, and to work to achieve more welcoming and inclusive environments for all fans,” the league said in its statement to ESPN. “Clubs decide whom to celebrate, when and how — with League counsel and support. Players are free to decide which initiatives to support, and we continue to encourage their voices and perspectives on social and cultural issues.”

The tide is turning. Not in a good way. Who would have ever thought a New York sports team would punk out on us?

*RUMOR HAS IT: Word has it Russian players, Panarin and Shesterkin are the players who are pulling the Religion card. It is likely being promoted by Putin and his Republican Allies in the U.S to hit the Pride Community and continue to create divisions in society

NHL Team Chicago Blackhawks Won’t Wear LGBT Pride Jerseys Over Russian Law

NHL Player Ivan Provorov Refuses To Wear Pride Night Jersey

Via The Daily Beast: National Hockey League player Ivan Provorov opted to forego part of the Philadelphia Flyers’ annual Pride Night on Tuesday, skipping warmups over a disagreement on rainbow attire, as well as rainbow-colored sticks and pucks to be auctioned at the end of the night. Provorov claimed a religious exemption, citing being Russian Orthodox. He went on to help his team notch a 5-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks, wearing his usual uniform rather than a jersey with a rainbow number on the sleeve. “I respect everybody. I respect everybody’s choices,” Provorov told reporters.

This is the same Russian Orthodox Church that supports  Invading a sovereign country killing innocent children and destroying countless lives.

The Philidelphia Flyer’s should have taken a stand and benched or fined him. #ThatIsAll

A gay couple hugging in front of a church in Toluca, about 50 miles west of Mexico City M with what appeared to be “holy water” by a woman who accused them of spreading immorality to the country’s youth. 

The incident which was caught on camera and shared by one of the men in a TikTok video that has since gone viral.

Leonardo Hernandez, who posted the video, can be heard telling the woman in Spanish, “It is bad to hate, lady.” While another bystander intervened to defend the couple, telling the woman, “They are not doing anything. They are just sitting here.” 

The woman, who was not identified, put a bottle in her purse after spraying the couple and then called the authorities and took out her cellphone. She can be heard saying into the phone that the church is private property and that the couple is not welcome in the “lord’s house.” “They come from other depraved countries to teach immorality to the youth here.”

The police refused to intervene and informed the woman that she was guilty of discrimination before she walked away.

Same-sex marriage became legal in all of Mexico’s 32 states this past October. When the last state voted on legalization, the president of Mexico’s highest court, Arturo Zaldívar, welcomed the vote.

Iran  has imposed the death penalty on two lesbian activists for allegedly promoting homosexuality, human rights organization Hengaw reported on Sunday.

“Zahra Sediqi Hamedani, known as ‘Sareh,’ 31, from Naqadeh, and Elham Chubdar, 24, from Urmia, both activists of the LGBT community, were sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Urmia in a joint case on the charge of ‘Corruption on Earth’ through the promoting of homosexuality.”

In addition to “promoting homosexuality,” the two women, according to Hengaw, were convicted of  “promoting Christianity” and “communicating with the media opposing the Islamic Republic.”

In December of 2021 the Islamic Republic’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested a lesbian in November and, according to the pro-Iran Tasnim news agency, was detained on charges of “forming a gang for trafficking girls and supporting homosexuality.” 

As of 2008 Iran’s regime has executed between 4,000 and 6,000 gays and lesbians since the nation’s Islamic revolution in 1979,.

Openly gay French European Affairs Minister Clément Beaune  was denied access to an “LGBT-free” zone by Polish authorities in the town of Kraśnik during an official visit to the country that began Monday.

Beaune’s visit included meetings with LGBT NGOs, as well as Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, an opposition leader.

“Polish authorities recently indicated to me that they weren’t capable of planning this visit, and I profoundly regret it. It is a decision that I deplore,” Beaune told French publication l’Obs. ” In my eyes, that is not how you one should behave with an EU member state,”

Beaune said he had considered three options: canceling his visit to Poland, postponing it, or following through on his promise to visit the area but without authorization from the government.

“If I decided to maintain my visit to Poland, it’s because another topic — just as important in my eyes — has emerged: that of women’s right to abortion,” he said. Poland has one of the EU’s most restrictive abortion laws, after a top court ruled that abortions in the event of fetal deformities are unconstitutional. The verdict sparked large public protests, and more demonstrations were planned for Monday evening.

Patryk Jaki, an MEP with the governing nationalist coalition, told Polish media that the idea there are LGBT-free zones in Poland is a “lie” fostered by gay rights campaigners. “In our country, there is no place where LGBT people can’t go,” he said, adding: “The only thing that exists are declarations by local governments talking about affirming families and traditional values.”

In December 2020, Beaune came out as gay in an interview with the French LGBT lifestyle magazine Têtu. Beaune said he wanted to show that being gay was “not an obstacle” to becoming a government minister, and condemned homophobia in other European countries. “I wouldn’t want people to say I am fighting against ‘LGBT-free’ zones because I am gay,” he said. “It would be insulting to say I am leading that fight for myself. … However, as European affairs minister, I have an additional responsibility. I must fight for tolerance.” 

Beaune said he had not given up on his pledge to visit one of the Polish LGBT free “zones.”

Trump’s Department of Justice Department Backs Catholic Church’s Firing of Gay Teacher

The Trump Administration’s U.S. Justice Department is supporting Catholic Church leaders in Indianapolis who are being sued over the firing of a teacher in a same-sex marriage.

The government filed a statement Friday in Marion County court stating that the First Amendment protects the free exercise of religion and gives faith-based schools the right to associate with some people and not others.

“If the First Amendment’s Religion Clauses stand for anything, it is that secular courts cannot entangle themselves in questions of religious law,” United States Attorney Josh Minkler said.

The lawsuit was filed by Joshua Payne-Elliott who says that the Archdiocese of Indianapolis illegally interfered in his contract with Cathedral High School where he had worked for 13 years. 

In an interesting twist in this case Payne-Elliott’s spouse, Layton Payne-Elliott, teaches at the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis. Brebeuf refused to fire Layton. The archdiocese said it no longer recognizes Brebeuf as a Catholic institution, a decision that has been suspended during the school’s appeal.

Indianapolis Archbishop Charles C. Thompson has maintained that the church is not targeting anyone.

Rather, Thompson said, the archdiocese has a right to set whatever rules it wants for its schools and employees, like that they must live according to Catholic church doctrine. The archdiocese began requiring a morality clause in teacher, administrator and counselor contracts at some of its schools four years ago, and at all Catholic schools two years ago.

It was not clear how binding the DOJ’s statement is, or what impact it will have on Payne-Elliott’s lawsuit.
