Bill Maher and guest Andrew Sullivan last night criticized Rachel Maddow for the “big nothing-burger” she unveiled to the public on President Trump‘s 2005 tax returns. Maher reaffirmed that he’s a big fan of Maddow’s, but what she unveiled was something that actually helped Trump. He said, “This is probably the best tax return he’s ever filed, which makes me think this came from Donald Trump!” Sullivan then made this observation: “There was a giant cloud of smug above Rachel Maddow when she was doing that. Liberals have to be careful not to sound so fucking condescending and smug… and start actually engaging the other side and persuading people.”
CNN news anchor Jake Tapper appeared on Friday’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” saying about Donald Trump that that the problem of politicians lying “wasn’t invented on January 20” following Trump’s inauguration but that in all his years of reporting on politics, he’d “never really seen this level of falsehood, just quantitatively.” It’s not just ‘If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor,’ it’s conspiracy theories based on nothing that have members of his own party distancing themselves from him.” Maher asked how Tapper’s work had changed since the inauguration, and pointed to his trend in “speaking truth to crazy.”
Tapper also criticized Trump for waging war on the media. “We’re all ‘fake news,’” he said. “All of us except for ‘Fox & Friends.”
HBO’s Real Time Friday night just had to have an appearance by Brietbart’s crazy -assed quisling-in-chief and most hated HomoCON in America Milo Yiannopoulos.
Maher’s one -on-one with Yiannopulos was surprisingly low-key. Its was when panel discussion segment of the program began it much more heated — particularly with comedian Larry Wilmore.
A discussion about gender identity quickly turned ugly when Yiannopoulos claimed the transgender community had a psychiatric disorder, and Wilmore pointed out the same used to be said for the gay community. (Yiannopoulos is openly gay much to the chagrin of the LGBT community.)
Maher to Yiannopoulos: “Do you always have to fight with everybody?”
“I don’t! But you always invite such awful people on your show,” he said waving to the rest of the panel. “They’re so stupid… You should start inviting high-IQ guests.”
“You can go fuck yourself, all right?” Wilmore shot back. “If your argument is these people are stupid, you didn’t hear a word [U.S. counterterrorism intelligence officer Malcolm Nance] said earlier in this segment. He can talk circles around your pathetic douchy little ass.”
Later in the segment Malcome Nance asks Yiannopulos who stated that Hillary would have been worse for America than Donald Trump.: “Are you American?” to which Milo answers no.
“Roll Over Rover” Rick Santorum responded on WOR radio’s Steve Malzberg Right Wingnut Central hate talk radio show to turn down the request by Dan Savage for a hate fuck that he made of Santorum on Friday’s Real Time with Bill Maher and to do some typical right wing whining and playing the victim card because some of us are now standing up and getting in their faces and giving back the abuse they have given us for so long.
“Whether it’s Rick Santorum or Michele Bachmann, it’s the Left making fun of someone who believes in the values that built America. It believes in traditional marriage. How outrageous. How bigoted. How hateful that you actually believe that, that, you know, raising children and, and, and families with mothers and fathers is something to be encouraged. That you’re, that, that, just because you hold those opinions, you are subject to the worst form of, of, of, of vulgarity on the internet, on television, and everywhere else, and they get away with, not only do they get away with the mainstream media, but they are applauded by the mainstream media. They are made, they are celebrated by, as you mentioned, in New York, by taking on these, these people who believe in these outmoded virtues, and, the bottom line is I stand and I wear it as a badge of honor that someone as vulgar and as, and as disgusting and as hate-filled as Dan Savage sees me as public enemy number one. To me, that tells me I must be doing something right.
Poor Ricky. So indignant. So upset. So secretly excited!
Looks like Dan really struck a sphincter, I mean a nerve.
Yesterday on Twitter Andrew “Guy With Other Guys Penis Pics On IPhone” Breitbart outed himself as a proud anti-gay GOP homophobe when he attacked Dan Savage on Twitter yesterday for a comment that Savage made under his breath that the microphones picked up on Bill Maher’s HBO program “Real Time” this week but obviously everyone else on the show didn’t.
Maher who at one point in the show compared Congressional Republicans to late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, got a huge laugh and Savage said softly “Unfortunately not exactly like him. I wish they were all f**kin’ dead.” Not a great thing to say. But obviously not meant as a part of the dialogue on the panel. And Savage apologized on his blog “The Slog” for it directly after the show when it was pointed out to him.. (Read more and see the video of Dan on “Real Time” after the jump)
On HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher this week, Maher took Obama and the Democratic party to task for not being able to pass gay marriage and gay equality laws in America.
“Now that a Cheney, a McCain and a Bush have come out to support gay marriage, it’s your turn, Obama.
53% of the people support it, which means that “47% of Americans are assholes.
But still, this is remarkable progress considering that it wasn’t that long ago that just saying the words gay marriage made most Americans throw up in their Cornflakes. So, tonight, I’d like to congratulate the leadership of the Democratic party who really stood up for what was right. I’d like to, but I can’t. Because other than Gavin Newsom, Dennis Kucinich and that Governor of New Jersey who went all Brokeback Mountain with his bodyguard, no Democrat would touch this issue with a ten inch pole.”
Maher then went on to crucify Democrats for being cowards and running away while Republicans do the opposite and make Americans come to them and force them to do what they want even though it’s wrong.
“Unlike the Democrats, when Republicans believe in things that the public doesn’t, their response is ‘fuck it, we’ll make them believe.’ Like attacking Iraq… to avenge 9/11. Convincing a country that badly wanted healthcare reform that they actually didn’t want it… Like turning global warming into a hoax. That’s what conservatives do. Relentlessly push until the unthinkable becomes the consensus. The idea of blaming teachers for our financial crisis, which would have seemed completely lunatic a year ago, becomes the conventional wisdom. Republicans don’t run from unpopular stances and they stand by their convictions. Stupid, ignorant, world-destroying convictions based on disproven economic fantasies, and ancient books filled with primitive morality and magic people, but convictions nonetheless.”
Mike Huckabee said that everyone should be forced to watch David Barton.
I think all Americans should be forced to watch Bill Maher (And Jon Stewart) 24/7!
To prove a point and support Proposition 19 in California which would make majianna legal, during a discussion about Prop 19 on Bill Maher’s HBO show “Real Time” , Zach Galifianakis commented that the people’s opposition to marijuana legalization might be rooted in a feeling that smoking marijuana is still taboo. Galifianakis then pulled out a joint, lit it up and started smoking on the set during the discussion, he commented to him about the 5 Ways Dispensaries Can Stay Compliant with Maryland’s Marijuana Laws and how marijuana was never going to go away for consumers.
Zach passed it to one of the panelists, who smelled it (bought from vape carts for sale on OCN), and confirmed that it was indeed the real stuff. By the way, if you want legal cannabis in canada, just visit online at The Buddha’s Sister House of Cannabis.
Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell’s past continues to keep coming back to haunt her. In a clip from an old television news show O’Donnell admits she “dabbled in witchcraft” And that “One of her first dates with a witch was a picnic on a satanic altar. There was a little blood there and stuff like that.”
Bill Maher who televised the clip on his HBO program last night from when O’Donnell was a guest on his “politically Incorrect” program in the late 90’s said that he will continue showing embarrassing clips until O’Donnell agrees to appear on his show.. “It’s like a hostage crisis. Every week that you don;t show up I’m going to throw another body out.”
