Pro-Gay Activist In Providence Stand Up To The National Organization For Marriage – NOM’s Feelings Get Hurt. Whaaa….Whaaaa…Whaaaa
Check out these twats, I mean tweets from the REAL twat Bryan Brown the President of The National Organization about alittle incident that happened yesterday at another extremely low attended stop on thier HATE-APOLOOZA “One Man, One Woman” Anti-Gay Marriage Tour.
It seems Brians panties are in a twist because some “gay militant activists” actually exercised thier right to Freedom of Speech and called the bitch out in the middle of his bigoted hate speech to his crowd of 10’s.
Brown tweeted pictures that he’s tagged with “militancy and incivility” of the counter protesters. Brown also tweeted a picture of a gay rights activist and has hilariously dubbed the man “The face of intolerance” Who happens to be the cute Vito Oliver from New York’s Queer Rising I believe.
And to those of us who whine, “Oh you shouldn’t confront them, ignore them.” YOU are also part of our problem.
It’s about freakin time we started to stand up and got into the faces of NOM and other organizations that fight to opress us. They are NEVER going to be reasoned with. They are NEVER going to leave us alone.
Sometimes you need to stand up, fight, and bully the bully until THEY back down.
I can only hope that this is the beginning of another Stonewall on a much grander scale. You guys DO remember Stonewall right?
Charges Dismissed Against The 4 NYC "Queer Rising" Activist Arrested At Marriage Equality Civil Disobedience

“Four members of the group Queer Rising, a group which advocates for civil rights for the LGBT community accepted pleas of ‘adjournment contemplating dismissal’ (ACD) today from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The individuals were charged with Obstructing Government Administration as well as two charges of Disorderly Conduct for chaining themselves together in front of the New York City Marriage License Bureau on February 12, 2010, in attempt to bring attention to the fact that the office denies LGBT New Yorkers the opportunity to file for marriage certificates. Justin Elzie, Alan Bounville, Gabriel Yuri Bollag and Jake Goodman accepted the offer which would allow them to dismiss all charges after 6 months assuming they are not arrested again during this time. Ted Bohn, co-counsel for the defendants, said “As long as the State of New York maintains a policy which codifies that the love between two men or two women is inferior to the love between a man and a woman, these actions will continue. This was only the beginning. We are grateful, however, to Cy Vance for recognizing that those arrested in furtherance of civil rights should not be treated like criminals.”
Four Gay Activist Arrested At NYC’s Queer Rising Protest Friday
Four very brave gay activists from the group Queer Rising took a stand and were arrested Friday morning after chaining themselves to the New York Marriage Bureau following the application and rejection of marriage licenses to more than 20 same-sex couples.
Following the rejection of the same-sex couples, a lesbian and gay man applied to be married and were approved as a couple for a marriage license and Alan Bounville, Jake Goodman, Justin Elzie and Gabriel Yuri Bollag chained and pad-locked themselves to the entrance railing, subsequently blocking entry to the marriage bureau, and were then arrested.

“New York City is home to the Stonewall Riots and in that tradition we are here to say that equality doesn’t arrive through the ballot box. The bankrupt strategy of putting all efforts into electing so-called ‘friendly’ officials has failed. The newly-formed and awesome NYC activist group Queer Rising is planning an rally/protest/action outside the New York City Marriage Bureau office on Friday morning from 8-10am:

“A gathering of same-sex marriage equality proponents for a press conference and rally in the park opposite the bureau; The application – and subsequent rejection – of several same-sex couples hoping to obtain a marriage license inside of the bureau; The application – a subsequent approval – of a lesbian and gay man, whom according to New York State law may legally marry each other, for a marriage license; and a significant act of civil disobedience to rival the lunch-counter sit-ins of the 1960s, in which black Americans asserted their rights of equal treatment by society at large.”
All I can say is its about time we started acting like this and I APPLAUD and SUPPORT Queer Rising for taking its stand and it’s acts of civil disobedience. We can no longer just sit back and continue to let the injustice thats perpetrated against us to hasppen. You would thinbk that by now we ALL would realize that Gay Inc.’s strategy SUCKS, and lobbying in Washington doesn’t work. (Especiallly since our lobbyist are all a bunch of ass kissing whiners)
