Procter & Gamble, the Cincinnati-based worldwide consumer products group that makes Tide came out in support of same sex marriage.
This month P&G started airing a commercial in Canada advertising Tide that features a gay couple snarkily bickering about household laundry chores with each guy making fun at “mistake” of the other, a past “ex” included.
If this commercial were to air in America One Million Moms aka 20 Old Biddy’s With Access To A Library Computer would shit.
Procter & Gamble has hired openly gay comedian and actress Wanda Sykes as its new official Gain® Scent spokesperson and matchmaker. Wanda, who came out as a lesbian in 2008 is the latest high-profile gay pitch-person to back a mainstream company.
Ellen DeGeneres was hired earlier this year, sparking calls for a boycott from the conservative One Million Moms organization.
Will there be a call to boycott Proctor & Gamble also?
In 2004, Procter and Gamble opposed a statute that would deny gays and lesbians from special civil rights protection in the company’s headquarters city of Cincinnati. The American Family Association called for a boycott but P&G did not relent.
With Right Wing extremist now boycotting LGBT friendly companies such as General Mills, Starbucks, The Home Depot, Kraft Foods, JC Penny, Toys R Us, EA Games, and Girl Scout Cookies. If they add the monolithic P&G Corporation to their boycott list which carries over 24 brands across beauty, healthcare, and food including , Pampers diapers, Gillette razors, and Duracell batteries they’ll end up sitting in thatch shacks in the woods, gnawing on roots, and wiping their asses with leaves.
In other words right where they belong.
