Appearing on CNN on Sunday morning Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, was asked for his response as one of the most high-profile gay officials in the Biden administration about an ad posted yesterday from Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign that spliced the Florida governor in between pictures of shirtless men while trying to paint Donald Trump as more LGBTQ-friendly.

I’m going to choose my words carefully, partly because I’m appearing as secretary, so I can’t talk about campaigns and I’m going to leave aside the strangeness of trying to prove your manhood by putting up a video that splices images of you in between oiled-up shirtless bodybuilders.

Said Trump Jr.: “Peter has no business in that position, but he’s the guy who had no business running for president. But they let him do that because he was gay, and they checked off a box, and then he didn’t win, but, well, he’s the gay guy, so we’ve got to give him something, let’s make him Transportation Secretary. The US transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg, has delivered an emotional appeal for Republicans to support a law protecting same-sex marriage as it heads for the Senate. Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, Buttigieg – the first openly gay cabinet secretary – was asked about dismissive remarks about the Respect for Marriage Act, which also protects interracial marriage, made by Marco Rubio, a Florida senator. “If he’s got time to fight against Disney, I don’t know why he wouldn’t have time to help safeguard marriages like mine,” Buttigieg said. “I don’t know why this will be hard for a senator or a congressman,” Buttigieg said.

Homophobia was on full display yesterday from the most-bigoted Republican white trash member on Congress Marjorie Taylor Greene used her time at a Trump rally to attack the Transportation Secretary  Pete Buttigieg  and personally attack a college student from Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Greene (R-Geo.) went full on homophobic on Saturday for some reason demanded that Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten, both gay men “stay out of our girls’ bathrooms.”

Congresswoman Greene — also a full-time online troll who has appeared on the white-nationalist gathering speaker’s circuit — also told her home-state audience.

After the 2022 midterms, she said “You’re going to see a new Republican Party — a Republican Party that defends our nation’s borders, a Republican Party that finishes the wall, a Republican Party that saves this economy and stops this inflation [and] ridiculously high gas prices.” Greene then promised, “We’re going to drill oil right here in the U.S.A.” (Fact Check: America is already the worlds #1 oil producing countries)

Then she criticized Buttigieg, who has encouraged the use of public transportation and electric vehicles that were funded through President Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure law passed last year.

“And you know what?” Greene said, “Pete Buttigieg can take his electric vehicles and his bicycles and he and his husband can stay out of our girls’ bathrooms.”

Axios is reporting that sources close to them are saying that President-elect Joe Biden is considering a ambassadorship to China for Pete Buttigieg instead of a much deserved cabinet position.

Axios also reports that initial conversations over leading the Department of Veterans Affairs didn’t firm up, while Buttigieg’s name is still mentioned among those under consideration for other domestic posts, including Transportation or Commerce. But its being said that finding a Cabinet post for Buttigieg has been a challenge for Biden because he has been focused on nominating women and people of color to high-level posts which is creating a concern among many that Buttigieg could be left out of the Biden administration’s starting lineup altogether.

Buttigieg was the first openly gay Democratic Presidential candidate winning the most delegates in the Iowa caucuses earlier this year before dropping out to consolidate moderates’ support around Biden who he campaigned for tirelessly up until the November election.

IF Buttigieg does go to China, he would be following in the footsteps of former president George HW Bush, who was appointed to the liaison office in Beijing by the Ford administration in 1974, before the two countries had established formal diplomatic ties

Democratic President-elect Joe Biden will begin naming members of his Cabinet this week. But so far of all the names which have been thrown around one has been conspicuously missing. That of Pete Buttigieg who ran a historic campaign as an openly gay man and dropped out of the race to help support Biden my campaigning fiercely for him across the country and even on FOX News.

So far sources close to Biden say Anthony Blinken a longtime Biden confidant who served as No. 2 at the State Department and as deputy national security adviser in President Barack Obama’s administration, in which Biden served as vice president will be named Secretary of State.

Jack Sullivan who served as Biden’s national security adviser during the Obama administration is rumored to be announced as Biden’s National Security Advisor.

One post that Pete himself expressed interest in is the job of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. But media outlets reported Sunday, citing Democratic sources close to Biden that Linda Thomas-Greenfield – Thomas-Greenfield a black woman who served as Obama’s top diplomat on Africa from 2013 to 2017 is the front-runner for the position.

According to the latest Reuters article Pete isn’t a top contender for any key cabinet positions.

On Saturday, Politico published a story naming front-runners for each cabinet post, based on “dozens of conversations with Biden aides, his close allies, lobbyists and Hill staff.” The article names Buttigieg as Biden’s most likely nominee for Secretary of Veteran Affairs a position established in 1988 one of the most minor cabinet position. But even this is still not a sure thing.

After all that Pete Buttigieg did for Joe Biden will he be given a minor position in his cabinet or will be left in the dust a victim of the Democratic party?

Only the next few weeks will tell.
