Jim Jordan Subpoenas Former NYC Prosecutor Even Though Jordan Himself Ignores Subpoenas

New Lawsuit Claims GOP Rep. Jim Jordan Knew About Sexual Abuse at Ohio State and Shrugged It Off

Via NBC News:

A professional referee says in a lawsuit filed Thursday that disgraced doctor Richard Strauss masturbated in front of him in a shower after a wrestling match at Ohio State University, and he reported the encounter directly to Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who was then the assistant coach.

“Yeah, that’s Strauss,” Jordan and then-head coach Russ Hellickson replied, according to the lawsuit, when the referee, identified in court papers as John Doe 42, told them about the incident. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Ohio, implies that Jordan’s response to the incident, which the referee said happened in 1994, was essentially a shrug.

John Doe 42 is the second person to say he told Jordan directly about either being approached or molested by Strauss, who was found by
independent investigators to have sexually abused 177 male students over two decades.

The lawsuit was filed by 43 survivors against Ohio State, claiming the university’s “ingrained culture of institutional indifference” enabled Strauss to sexually abuse former students and athletes from a half-dozen other sports.

Jordan claims the allegations against him are politically motivated.

GOP Rep. Jim Jordan Gets Retired Coach To Pressure Wrestlers To Recant Sex Abuse Knowledge Claims

Seems that male sex abuse enabler and Family Values/Tea Party GOP Rep. Jim (Gym) Jordan has been getting people to put pressure on the former Ohio State wrestlers who accused Jordan of knowing and not doing anything about the sexual abuse that they suffered at the hands of the athletic departments in-house doctor when Jordan was a coach there.

NBC News reports:

Retired Ohio State wrestling coach Russ Hellickson reached out to two ex-team members and asked them to support their former assistant coach, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, a day after they accused the powerful congressman of turning a blind eye to alleged sexual abuse by the team doctor, according to the wrestlers and text messages they shared with NBC News.

The former wrestlers said their ex-coach made it clear to them he was under pressure from Jordan to get statements of support from members of the team.

Hellickson’s appeal to help Jordan came after the congressman repeatedly said that he had no idea that team doctor Richard Strauss was allegedly molesting the athletes — contradicting three wrestlers who told NBC News that Jordan must have known since the abuse was frequently discussed in the locker room.

Accused Sex Abuse Enabler Jim Jordan Unveils Bid For GOP House Speaker

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports:

House Freedom Caucus founder Jim Jordan – a conservative firebrand from Champaign County – announced Thursday that he’ll run for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, I plan to run for Speaker of the House to bring real change to the House of Representatives,” said a statement Jordan released through a spokesman.

“President Trump has taken bold action on behalf of the American people,” his statement continued. “Congress has not held up its end of the deal, but we can change that. It’s time to do what we said.”

Jordan’s announcement comes amid recent accusations that Jordan was aware, as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University three decades ago, that a team doctor allegedly was sexually abusing athletes.

Several former wrestlers have said the team discussed alleged misconduct with Jordan about Strauss touching them inappropriately during appointments and showering with them. Jordan denies all knowledge of the sexual abuse that happened.

7th Former College Wrestler Comes Forward: Jim Jordan “Definitely Knew”

The Washington Post reports:

A seventh former Ohio State University wrestler said Saturday that he believes Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) knew about inappropriate behavior that allegedly took place in the school’s athletic department three decades ago, as two more former team members came to Jordan’s defense.

David Range, who wrestled for Ohio State in the late 1980s, said Jordan had to have known about alleged sexual misconduct by Richard Strauss, an athletic doctor whose behavior is under investigation by the school, because it happened regularly to team members and people talked about it. Jordan has denied he knew, saw or heard about any inappropriate behavior while he was an assistant wrestling coach from 1987 to 1995.

“Jordan definitely knew that these things were happening — yes, most definitely,” Range told The Washington Post. “It was there. He knew about it because it was an everyday occurrence.”

As of this writing no politicians, Democrats or Republicans have called for Jim Jordan’s resignation.

Family Values GOP Rep. Jim Jordan Accused of Knowing Of Sex Abuse of College Wrestlers at Ohio State and Remaining Silent

Family Values and vehemently anti-LGBT GOP Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is being accused of knowing about and willfully ignoring the sexual abuse of the male wrestlers he coached at Ohio State University.

An NBC News report published Tuesday alleged the powerful Ohio congressman was aware of allegations that a doctor was molesting members of the wrestling team when he was an assistant wrestling coach from 1986 to 1994, but that he ignored those claims of abuse.

Ohio State University announced in April it was investigating abuse allegations against Dr. Richard Strauss, who died in 2005, for allegedly abusing team members from the mid-1970s to late 1990s. Three former wrestlers told NBC News it was known that the doctor would shower regularly with the students and touch them inappropriately during appointments.

Did he know of allegations that a team doctor was molesting members of his team? “I never heard of abuse, plain and simple,” the Ohio Republican told me over the phone. “No one ever reported or talked about abuse. I never heard of it.”

Two other former wrestlers dispute that claim.

“I considered Jim Jordan a friend,”  DiSabato said. “But at the end of the day, he is absolutely lying if he says he doesn’t know what was going on.”

Mike DiSabato, a former wrestler at OSU who is one Strauss’ many victims, told CNN there is no question in his mind that Jordan “knew it all.”

DiSabato said during his time at OSU, Strauss’ alleged abuse of athletes was widely known and discussed. “We trained every day together. His (Jordan’s) locker was located next to Doc Strauss. It was a common uncomfortable joke that “Doc likes to hold your penis”.

DiSabato said there were many conversations in which Jordan acknowledged Strauss’ alleged actions.  Jordan’s response would be along the lines of: “If he ever touches me, I’ll kill him.”

Jordan, responded to allegations denying that he turned a blind eye to sexual abuse during his time as an assistant Ohio State wrestling coach.

Two other college wrestlers deny his claim.
