BYU Threatens To Arrest and Discipline Students Who Protest anti-LGBT Rules.

BYU Threatens To Arrest and Discipline Students (Again) Who Protest Anti-LGBT Rules.

Let’s begin this with a quick history recap of past Brigham Young’s dangerous and deadly anti-gay rhetoric and “rules”.

Believe it or not before 1962 BYU was actually a “live and let live” type of college, the few lesbian and gay students who had attended though deeply closeted seemed to have no problems on campus. But on On September 12, 1962, the “live and let live” policy was officially eradicated. Spencer W. Kimball (Quorum of the 12), Mark E. Peterson (Quorum of the 12), and Ernest L. Wilkinson (BYU President) addressed the university and introduced the new university policy: “…we [do not] intend to admit to our campus any homosexuals. We do not want others on this campus to be contaminated by your presence,

Homosexuality is an ugly sin, repugnant to those who find no temptation in it, as well as to many past offenders who are seeking a way out of its clutches. All such deviations from normal, proper heterosexual relationships are not merely unnatural but wrong in the sight of God.

Spencer W Kimball

In July 1964, Spencer W. Kimball spoke to institute faculty, calling homosexuality a “malady”, “disease”, and asserted it was “curable [through] self-mastery”. On January 5, 1965, Kimball again addressed the BYU student body, equating homosexual “desires and tendencies” to “petting”, “fornication”, and “adultery.” He also professed that it was a “damnable heresy” for any homosexual person to claim, “God made [me] [this] way.”

Five gay, male students died by suicide in 1965 on campus. And unfortunately over the years more followed.

But it get’s worse.

In 1967, BYU administration took control of the Honor Code and Honor Committee (now called Honor Code Office). That following year, a recorded 72 students were expelled under pretenses of “suspected homosexual activity”

In 1973 BYU’s university-sanctioned electroshock aversion therapy was reported for the first time. These were mentioned by BYU psychology professor Allen Bergin in a July 1973 New Era article, justifying the actions by claiming that homosexuals were “psychologically disturbed persons.” university-sanctioned electroshock aversion therapy was reported..

This TORTURE continued through the 1976 thesis/experiment by BYU clinical psychology professor, Max Ford McBride, which used 17 gay, male students and subjected them to “positive visual stimuli” (nude images and pornographic videos of women) with no consequence and “negative stimuli” (nude images and pornographic videos of men) accompanied by high-voltage shocks to their genitals and sensitive areas of the body, as well as induced vomiting and odor aversion. The shocks reached an intensity of 4.5mA, the equivalent of a powerful stun gun. Sources suggest this practice continued on BYU campus until 1983.

Brigham Young University and the Mormon Church didn’t stop there. Conversion Therapy Camps, spying and purging students & faculty, fighting tooth and nail against same sex marriage. It goes on and on and all of i tax free!

Fast forward to 2022 and BYU is still at it.

Almost one year after LGBT students lit up Brigham Young University’s “Y” sign in rainbow colors to show support for LGBT equality, BYU has passed new rules to discipline or arrest any students who protest against the school’s anti-LGBTQ teaching and all it’s rules in general.

The university’s new rules define a demonstration as “an event that occurs on university property that is not sponsored by the university in which two or more people gather to raise awareness about, or express a viewpoint on, an issue or cause.” This includes “marches, memorials, parades, picketing, leafletting, signature-gathering, rallies, sit-ins and counterdemonstrations,” BYU also states that student protests may not “contradict or oppose church doctrine or policy”, nor are they allowed to “deliberately attack or deride” the church or its leaders.

After all these years of Brigham Young University not only discriminating but TORTURING it’s gay students it still remains open, receives government funding and the Mormon Church tax exempt.

And everything old is new again.

New Owners of “Newsweek” Magazine Anti-Gay, Believe Homosexuality Can Be Cured

Newsweek

The Guardian has done a piece that looks at  the religious underpinnings of Newsweek magazines new owners Johnathan Davis (left)  and Etienne Uzac (right) .  Davis’ company IBT Media acquired the magazine last year, is a proponent of conversion therapy for gays.

Davis, whose company IBT Media acquired the magazine last year, is apparently a strong proponent of conversion therapy for gays.

In a Facebook post in February 2013, Davis described as “shockingly accurate” an op-ed article written by Christopher Doyle, the director of the International Healing Foundation (IHF) (‘Ex-Gay Pride Month’ last July, which was forcibly cancelled as a result of undisclosed (imaginary) “anti-ex-gay extremism) which works to convert gay people. Davis said it “cuts like a hot knife through a buttery block of lies”.

Doyle, has said  that he was delighted by Davis’s praise. “Considering how much of the media is very gay-friendly, this is a breath of fresh air,” he said.

When asked about his Facebook post in support of Doyle’s work, Davis responded:

Whether I do or not [believe that], I’m not sure how that has any bearing on my capacity here as the founder of the company. I’m not sure how it’s relevant. People believe all sorts of weird things. But from a professional capacity, it’s unrelated.”

Not really.  Especially if you run a news group.  Ask Rupert Murdoch

TEXAS: GOP House Bill On Property Tax Relief Excludes LGBT Couples

Texas Says FU To Gay Soldiers, Withholds Gay Spousal Benefits Despite Pentagon Orders

Texas is a messThe “not-so-great” state of Texas and it’s military forces are defying Pentagon orders and refusing to offer partner benefits which include health, pension, and housing, to troops with same-sex spouses, which was supposed to begin today because Texas’ law bans same-sex marriage.

Washington Blade:

Alicia Butler, an Austin, Texas, attorney, said she was rejected when she tried to register with the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS, the military’s health benefits system, when she applied on Tuesday at Camp Mabry, where her spouse, Judith Chedville, a nurse and Iraq war veteran, is stationed as a member of the National Guard.

“We were told that Texas would not register us into the system and would not issue an ID card for me,” Butler said. “We were told that if she was active duty they would do that for me, but not for a National Guard member because she’s part of the Texas National Guard.

Gay, lesbian and bisexual soldiers and their spouses are being told they must seek out a federal facility to apply.

NFL Seattle Seahawks Player Says “It’s Selfish” To Have Gays In Sports

20130329-204209.jpg

In what the hell is wrong with him news, Seattle Seahawks player Chris Clemons decides to weigh his bigoted small minded opinion on whether an openly gay player should be welcomed in the NFL. Here’s more:

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Clemons said he didn’t think it would be a good idea for a player to come out of the closet while playing professional football, although he insisted he wasn’t homophobic.

“Who on Gods earth is this person saying he’s coming out of the closet in the NFL?” tweeted Clemons.

Speculation about the possibility of a professional football player coming out picked up this week after a report by Mike Freeman of CBS Sports.

“Based on interviews over the past several weeks with current and former players, I’m told that a current gay NFL player is strongly considering coming out publicly within the next few months — and after doing so, the player would attempt to continue his career,” wrote Freeman.

He added that the player believes it is “now time for someone to take this step” but is worried about the reaction of homophobic fans.

Now the actual tweet that Clemons sent out stated “I’m not against anyone but I think it’s a selfish act. They just trying to make themselves bigger than the team.”…but how can you state that you’re not against something but call someone’s very nature “selfish”?

I mean is this what all homophobic people that play professional sports believes that a person not hiding who they are as “selfish”? The one thing that Clemons and any other bigot that believes that being openly gay takes away something from themselves or the team need a huge reality check.

Playing a professional sport is a job. A very glitzy, popular, endorsement enriched, potentially overpaid entertainment job. This isn’t a bathhouse where a gay player wants to come in and check out the merchandise. They are going to have a certain code of conduct just like anyone else and I’m sure that there will be reprimands for any harassment just like any other player so what the hell are you afraid of Clemons? Because that’s all we can deduce by such a myopic position you’re taking in this.

I think it’s selfish to ask someone to hide who they are just for your comfort Clemons, cause lets be honest here. That’s the only reason why you have an issue with this, no matter how politely you tried (and failed) to say during this message.

MN Couple Doesn’t Understand Why Noose Wearing Hanging Empty Chair Anti-Obama Display Is Hateful

Laura Mulholland and her husband, Kevin just cannot understand why a homemade political display in her yard in which a chair is suspended from a tree by a noose, with a bayonet and rifle stuck in the side of the chair — a reference to President Obama is hateful or racist.

“It’s been there for a month,” said Laura Mulholland on Tuesday when asked about the display outside her house at 3005 40th St. S.W in Rochester MN “I’m not sure why everyone is up in arms about it.”

Mulholland,  said she saw photos of empty chairs on the conservative political blog Power Line, as well as on Facebook and FoxNews.com. The idea for the bayonet came from Obama’s comment about “horses and bayonets” in the third debate with his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.  She said the display isn’t meant as a direct threat to President Obama.

Perhaps it’s not a threat, but it certainly has the impact of a hate-motivated display, said W.C. Jordan, president of the Rochester branch of the NAACP as well as the Minnesota/Dakota Area State Conference president.

City officials in Rochester have remained silent and have not issued any statement about the display.

I mean everyone “displays” their empty chairs by hanging them by a hangman’s noose from a tree with a knife through them.

Gosh, what could be hateful or racist about that?

But the scariest thing is that these inbred idiots know how to make a noose.

AFA’s Bryan Fischer DEMANDS Mitt Romney Respond Over Log Cabin Republicans Endorsement

Morons, morons everywhere……

AFA hatemonger and moron Bryan J Fischer, is demanding that GOP Presidential Mormon moron Mitt Romney explain why the HomoCON morons, The Log Cabin Republicans endorsed him and is hoping that it has nothing to do with LGBT equality in any way shape or form.

Ben Adler of the Nation called me at quitting time today. Said he had been given assurances by Log Cabin Republicans that Romney’s camp has privately promised them he will support ENDA after he’s elected. ENDA will be the official end of religious liberty in America. Will trample on the 1st Amendment rights of every Christian businessmen in the country.  No freedom of religion, conscience or association. Will do to every Christian business what ObamaCare has done to Catholic hospitals. Would be wrong and politically disastrous for Romney to support. What we need is a flat emphatic, unambiguous denial from Romney himself. Please clarify for us all, Governor.  Bottom line: we need a clear, unambiguous, no loophole denial from Gov. Romney that he will support ENDA as president.”

Well of course Fischer has no need to worry Buzzfeed  spoke to Log Cabin head HomoCON douchebag  R. Clarke Cooper, who is denied all claims that his group agreed to endorse Mitt Romney in return for a promise to support the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)  (SPOILER: They did it because they are bootlicking, asskissing, greedy Auntie Tom Kapo bastard who don’t give a shit about the gay community and equality and wanted to curry favor from the GOP party which hates them.)

Cooper acknowledged that he “discussed legislative vehicles and executive actions with Romney regarding workplace non-discrimination, including ENDA.” But he insisted the endorsement did not come in response to a Romney campaign pledge to sign ENDA — noting, “I did not say Romney would sign the current form of ENDA.” He added that Log Cabin is “confident we could work with a President Romney and his administration to achieve desirable tangible outcomes on workplace nondiscrimination.” ENDA is legislation that has been introduced in this and several recent sessions of Congress aimed at specifically outlawing workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

So essentially what Cooper is saying is that they endorsed Romney, a candidate who doesn’t support gay rights in any way, shape or form, because of other factors not associated with gay rights. And they were begging for crumbs to justify the endorsement and came back empty-handed and endorsed him anyway.

In a nutshell Cooper and the LCR could have withheld the endorsement for Romney like they previously did Bush.  They weighed their options and made a calculated decision n to curry favor from the GOP knowing full well that they would not suffer any ramifications from the LGBT Washington Insiders and Organizations other than some bitchy blog posts. (Thats me!)

Considering that Romney and Ryan have kowtowed to the extreme religious right in this election more than Bush ever did, what LCR did yesterday with their endorsement of Romney while not wholly unexpected should be viewed as a slap in the face to the LGBT community and our fight for equality as a whole. And if nothing else LGBT organizations should turn their backs on them and treat them the same as GOProud.

KitchenAid Tweets Highly Offensive Joke About Obama’s Dead Grandmother During The Presidential Debate

Last night during the Obama v. Romney Presidential debates.  KitchenAid posted a nasty and poorly spelled comment on its Twitter feed about President Obama’s grandmother, who died shortly before he took office.

It read: “Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! ‘She died 3 days b4 he became president,’ “ along with the #nbcpolitics hashtag.

The post which was quickly deleted did not go undetected and has created a firestorm of critisim against the giant appliance brand.

Cynthia Soledad, senior director at KitchenAid, told AdFreak.com in a statement:

“During the debate last night, a member of our Twitter team mistakenly posted an offensive tweet from the KitchenAid handle instead of a personal handle. This tasteless joke in no way represents our values at KitchenAid. This person will no longer be tweeting for us and appropriate actions are being taken.  That said, I lead the KitchenAid brand, and I take responsibility for the whole team. I am deeply sorry to President Obama, his family, and our consumers for this careless error.”

Kitchen Aid has not released the name of the person responible or eleaborated extactly what “the appropriate actions” are.

NOM Pushes Article Saying Gay Men Who Seek Out (Baby) Surrogates Are Akin To Rapist

The ever increasingly irrelevant National Organization for Marriage (NOM) has published a column asserting that gay men who seek out surrogates in order to have children are akin to “sexual predators” and rapists.

NOM’s  propaganda wing The Ruth Institute excerpted a column entitled “The New Sexual Predators,” which was originally published at The Witherspoon Institute’s Public Discourse blog. (In their early days, the National Organization for Marriage and the Witherspoon Institute shared an office in Princeton, New Jersey. Witherspoon president Luis Tellez has been a NOM board member for as long as NOM has existed.  You need a scorecard to keep these incestuous anti-gay hate groups straight.)

The column’s author, Alana S. Newman, (a pro-life blogger that wants to deny gay parents children) argues that women must now defend themselves not only from “stereotypical sexual predators” but from “gay men who seek their eggs”:

But now there are new predators on the scene, for whom we do not have a script. There are new characters eager to exploit our daughters’ bodies, who enjoy unsullied reputations, passing detection even as they blatantly hunt for eggs and wombs with checkbooks in hand. And historically they have been the people women should fear the least.

So now, young women must do more than simply defend themselves against aggressive heterosexual males who want to use them for sex. They must also navigate a world filled with new, never-before-seen predators—people they thought they could trust—who aggressively target them for their eggs and their wombs. [emphasis added]

If her writings weren’t so over the top, badly written and insanely outrageous I might just be offended by this anti-gay hacks article.

Seriously if this is the BEST that  The National Organization For Ruth Witherspoon Institute can do then it’s quite apparent that they have already lost and should unplug the iron lung that keeping their hateful organizations alive.

“Target them for their eggs and their wombs”   Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

To quote Lafayette from True Blood.  “You’re stupid bitch, you know that?””

The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck Loves Her Some Mitt Romney, Warns of ‘Dependence Day’ Holiday

The ladies of The View went to town on Mitt Romney ‘s amazingly insensitive and disgusting “47 percent’ video.

Well all of them except resident Repub-bo Elizabeth “I was on a reality show and married rich” Hasselbeck who must have been up all night to think up her quote of “I also think there’s a general feeling that with more and more people becoming  dependent on government that by next July we could perhaps be celebrating  “Dependence Day” and not “Independence Day” in this nation.”

The ladies were not amused.  Even Baba!
