Mike Huckabee “Resigns” From Country Music Association Foundation Board After Major Backlash

Former Arkansas Governor and anti-LGBT “Christian Nationalist”  Mike Huckabee resigned on Thursday from the Country Music Association Foundation board of directors after criticism from multiple members of the country music industry.

Huckabee held the position for less than a week.

The announcement follows pointed criticism from members of the country music industry, as well as fans — much of it stemming from Huckabee’s stance on LGBT issues.

Jason Owen, co-president of Monument Records and owner at Sandbox Entertainment, called the appointment a “grossly offensive decision” in an email to the association’s CEO Sarah Trahern and CMA Foundation executive Tiffany Kerns.

Owen wrote that due to Huckabee’s election to the CMA Foundation’s board, neither his companies nor anyone they represent would continue to support the foundation.

Owen and his husband, Sam, are fathers to a young son and are expecting twins. Owen said that Huckabee’s stance on the LGBT community “made it clear my family is not welcome in his America.”

Huckabee speaks of the sort of things that would suggest my family is morally beneath his and uses language that has a profoundly negative impact upon young people all across this country,” he added. “Not to mention how harmful and damaging his deep involvement with the NRA is. What a shameful choice.”

The CMA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Country Music Association, devoted to growing and supporting music education programs across the country. Its board consists of 12 members. Huckabee’s inclusion on the board had sparked hundreds of comments from outraged fans on social media.

In Huckabee’s letter of resignation he wrote:

I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained.

I’m somewhat flattered to be of such consequence when all I thought I was doing was voluntarily serving on a non-profit board without pay in order to (continue) my decades of advocacy for the arts and especially music.”

Poor bullied Mike Huckabee.

Let’s all make sure to send him our thoughts and prayers.

Federal Court Orders $32M Fine For Robocall Promotion of Christian Movie Voiced By Mike Huckabee

A federal judge in St. Louis on Thursday ordered a Virginia man and his companies to pay $32.4 million in damages for improper robocalls narrated by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee that promoted a religious-themed movie.

U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber said in the ruling that Gabriel Joseph III and his companies violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by making commercial calls to more than 3.2 million recipients without their consent.

The calls made in 2012 promoted the movie “Last Ounce of Courage,” a drama about the “war on Christmas.” The calls in question begin with Huckabee — a Southern Baptist minister turned Republican politician who ran for president in 2008 and 2016 — saying he has a “45-second survey,” according to court documents. Huckabee was dismissed from the suit.

“Do you believe in American freedom and liberty? … Would you, like me, Mike Huckabee, like to see Hollywood respect and promote traditional American values?” Huckabee said in the calls, according to court documents. “I am an enthusiastic supporter of a new movie called ‘Last Ounce of Courage.’ It is a film about faith, freedom, and taking a stand for American values.” – via The Associated Press

Last Ounce of Courage starred former pro football player and actor Fred Williamson, (Who must REALLY need the money) Jennifer O’Neil  (and ardent pro-life advocate and Christian who has been married 10 times! ) and Structure underwear model and gay pin-up Rusty Joiner. (Who needed a better agent)

A $32.4 million fine for a crap KKK-ristian propaganda  movie that grossed $3.3  in theaters.

Perhaps there really is a God after all.

Mike Huckabee Defends Donald Trump Over The KKK – Video

Mike Huckabee: “I don’t know anyone who suggests that Donald Trump is a racist”

Via Mediaite:

On Fox News’ The Five earlier today, most of the hosts defended Donald Trump in the controversy over his refusal to disavow David Duke. All three of them dismissed it as silly liberal media bias. Hours later, Bill O’Reilly dismissed it as a “complete non-story” because Trump isn’t a racist. But on The Kelly File tonight, not only did Kelly take this controversy more seriously than her colleagues, but she actually did a pretty tough interview with the man defending Trump on this, Mike Huckabee.

Defend the Duggars, defend Trump, defend is animal abusing son. It’s all in a days work for Mike Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee Drops Out Of GOP Presidential Race – #ByeFelicia!

Huckabee2

Coming just one day after Mike Huckabee promised supporters in Des Moines, Iowa that he would not drop out after last nights Caucus vote stating: “I’m not getting out of the race. I’m staying in and I’m going to do great tomorrow night and keep going and win the White House.” Huckabee has dropped out of the GOP Presidential race.

After getting about 2 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucuses, a state he won in 2008, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) announced via Twitter that he is “officially suspending his campaign,” the standard language for dropping out of the race.

Huckabee Defends Child Abusing Duggar Family In Iowa: “They’ve been through HELL!” – Video

Huchabee and Duggar

While performing as the opening act for Bingo on the Waffle House circuit in Iowa Mike Huckabee went off on a woman who accused him of supporting child abuse because he’s defended the Duggar family.  Huckabee raged: “You are abusing the reputation of a Godly family that has been through hell!”

Huckabee then went on to say that the media were the REAL child abusers for reporting the story in the first place.

Mike Huckabee Claims He Knows Nothing About “Death To Gays” Comments At Hate Conference He Attended – AUDIO

Huckabee

GOP Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is feigning ignorance over the fact that while attending a “religious liberty” convention held in Iowa by anti-gay Pastor Kevin Swanson last week where Swanson and others called for the death of LGBT Americans.

Right Wing Watch provides us with a brief audio clip from Friday in which a reporter at the convention asked Huckabee about it. You’ll be shocked that Huckabee professed not to know anything.

An unnamed reporter asked Huckabee, apparently directly after his speech to the conference, about “reports that there are a few pastors speaking her today that say that if you’re homosexual, you should be prosecuted, you should actually be killed.” “Obviously, I don’t agree with that,” Huckabee responded. “I don’t think anyone’s ever accused me of saying that. And I don’t know, did anyone say that from this stage today?” The reporter responded that while nobody had said such things from the stage yet that day, the organizer and other speakers had previously made such remarks.

“I can’t go with ‘there are some reports that,’” Huckabee responded. “Give me a specific, give me something to react to, that won’t work for me, because I don’t have any knowledge of that. All I know is what I said, I can’t be responsible for what anybody else said on that stage, and apparently nobody said that on that stage.”

If Huckabee had stuck around just a few minutes after his speech, he would have heard Swanson saying exactly that, bellowing to the audience that the biblically ordained punishment for homosexuality is death. If he had stuck around until the next day of the conference, he would have heard Swanson return to the theme, saying that he doesn’t want the government to impose the death penalty for homosexuality quite yet because he wants to give the culture time to change and gays time to repent before imposing his version of biblical law.

Selective hearing on Huckabee’s part of course which after all is a life long affliction of his.

#HAHA! – FOX News Banishes Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie to the Kiddie Debate Table.

huckabee

Fox Business News has announced the lineups for next week’s GOP debate and surprise, surprise.  Bible thumping Mike Huckabee and Chris “I never met a cupcake I didn’t like” Christie BOTH have been dropped from the Main Debate and moved to the kiddie table “undercard” debate of those running who have a snowballs chance in hell of snagging the nomination.

CNN reports:

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee have failed to qualify for the prime time Republican debate on November 10, making them the first top-tier candidates to be relegated to the undercard round, Fox Business Network announced Thursday. Meanwhile, former New York Governor George Pataki and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham failed to qualify for the undercard debate, meaning they will not appear at all when Republicans gather in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, next week. Fox Business, the sponsors of the fourth GOP debate, had stipulated last month that candidates would need to average at least 2.5% in the four most recent national polls in order to qualify for the prime time debate at 9 p.m.

Lindseybelle failed to qualify for the undercard debate?

Whatever will Aaron Schock do with his paisley tux and what will Miss Lindsey do with her inaugural gown?

OUTRAGEOUS! – Mike Huckabee: If Only Somebody In That South Carolina Church Had Been Carrying A Gun – Video

huckabee

Fox News:

President Obama had a moment to bring healing to the nation, but he chose to play politics instead, using the terrible massacre in Charleston to call for a crackdown on guns. Everything with this administration is about politics. Everything. Gov. Mike Huckabee told me he was disappointed with President Obama’s “grandstanding.” “All the proposals this president has put forward on gun control would not have stopped this shooting,” he said. According to the GOP presidential candidate, one thing might have stopped the tragedy: A pistol-packing church-goer. “The one thing that would have at least ameliorated the horrible situation in Charleston would have been if somebody in that prayer meeting had a conceal carry or (if) there had been an off duty policeman somebody with the legal authority to carry a firearm and could have stopped the shooter,” Huckabee said.

Its seriously well past time to start bitch-slapping some  people.

Mike Huckabee On CNN: “I Have Gay Friends.” Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! – Video

Mike Huckabee

On n CNN’s “State of the Union” this morning likely GOP candidate and religious extremist Mike Huckabee continued his constant  attacks on same-sex marriage and counted with, get ready. That the Huckster has gay friends!

Via The New Civil Rights Movement:

Calling legal civil same-sex marriage “a biblical issue,” the 59-year old Republican former Arkansas governor excused his opposition to equality by insisting he has no choice in the matter.

Saying, “unless, you know, I get a new version of the Scriptures, it’s really not my place to say, ‘OK, I’m just going to evolve,'” Huckabee told CNN’s Dana Bash. “It’s like asking somebody who’s Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli,” he said. And attempting to sound sympathetic and tolerant, the former Fox News host added, “We don’t want to do that. I mean, we’re not going to do that.”

Huckabee also insisted asking Christians to support the right of same-sex couples to marry is like “asking a Muslim to serve up something that is offensive to him or to have dogs in his backyard.”

Insisting “there’s room in the tent” for pro-LGBT Republicans, Huckabee, the author of over a dozen books, including his latest, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, acknowledged, “I hope the party doesn’t change its overall view.”

However, he also acknowledged that he has gay friends.

“But, you know, the very fact that I talk about the relationships I have with friends who are gay indicates that I’m not a person who shuts everybody out around me who disagrees. To be honest with you, Dana, I find a lot more interesting conversations that I can have with people who don’t agree with me.”

“And I accept a lot of people as friends maybe whose lifestyle I don’t necessarily adhere to, agree with or practice.”

Oy gavalt.

Someone pass the bacon chesseburger PLEASE.
