Even MAD magazine knew over 40 years ago what the Republican party was.
What’s our excuse?

Democrats heavily outnumbered Republicans in the South Florida district that had a SPECIAL ELECTION last week for District 20 House Rep in Florida— Nobody. I mean NOBODY expected a close race and it wasn’t. Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick won the special election with 79 percent of the vote.
But wait! GOP MAGA Cultist opponent Jason Mariner the representative-elect’s Republican rival, who hedged on conceding the race is calling it calling it. You guessed it. Election Fraud.
The CBS affiliate in Miami reported, the unusual part of this story was the response to the outcome from the representative-elect’s Republican rival, who hedged on conceding the race. “Now they called the race, I did not win, so they say, but that does not mean that they lost either, it does not mean that we lost,” said Republican Jason Mariner. Several hours before the polls even closed, Mariner filed a lawsuit alleging there is a problem with the ballots in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

Jason Mariner is a convicted felon, praised the Jan. 6 rioters who attacked the Capitol, and has at least one Confederate flag tattoo on his arm. In mid-December 2011, Mariner broke into a Delray Beach property and stole approximately $20,000 worth of paintings by the legendary Florida Highwaymen, and other local painter. Mariner took the stolen paintings to a secondhand shop and sold many for a total of $400.
What a maroon.
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” remembered the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 domestic terrorist attacks with an insurrection-themed take on “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent.”
Ladies and Gentlemen we now present “Abhor-Rent: 525,600 Minutes Since The Insurrection”
Jan. 6 committee chair Bennie Thompson says on ABC that the investigation has uncovered the insurrection “appeared to be a coordinated effort on the part of a number of people to undermine the election.” including GOP Congressmen.
Thompson, said his panel has evidence of interactions between members of the House and the rioters that day but not necessarily of a significant nature and said the committee wanted to hear from Reps. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) about their activities, though he said it was not clear if his panel would or even could subpoena them.
When asked if the House Jan. 6 committee has found any significant evidence that members of Congress may be culpable in attack, chair Rep. Bennie Thompson tells George Stephanopoulos, “we’re in the process of getting to that.”
Funny but I seem to remember a video of Republicans giving the rioters tours of the Capitol in the days leading up to the Cracker Barrel Putsch despite the fact that tours were cancelled over COVID fears. That’s a good place to start for HARD evidence.

Dublin, California a suburban city east of the gay mecca of San Francisco has decided it will not fly the Rainbow Pride flag over city hall after it was proposed by a gay city council member and then contested by a a group of bigoted residents.
At a city council meeting the bigots spoke loudly, asking if the city then has to fly the Confederate flag or the Black Lives Matter flag, or a communist flag.
Dublin resident Josh Rodriguez wearing a MAGA cap stated that the rainbow flag “ was not all inclusive” because the LGBT acronym doesn’t include the letter “S” for Straight. And another bigot spewed even worse anti-gay propaganda saying: “At the end of the day, I believe there is another letter that to the end that is being propagated actually at our state capital right now and that is “P” for pedophile.”
Councilmember Shawn Kumagai who proposed the flying of the rainbow flag to celebrate Pride Month said : “As a gay man and growing up through the marriage equality fight and serving in the military under Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, I know we have some work to do in this area.”
Dublin has a population of about 46,036 residents and 28,798 registered voters with 12,071 (41.9%) registered as Democrats, 5,044 (17.5%) registered as Republicans, and 10,505 (36.5%) decline to state voters.[
Ironically since 1992, Dublin has been a Democratic stronghold in presidential elections.

A U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant and self-identified white nationalist was arrested after federal investigators uncovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in his Maryland home that authorities say he stockpiled to launch a massive domestic terror attack targeting politicians and journalists. Christopher Paul Hasson called for “focused violence” to “establish a white homeland” and dreamed of ways to “kill almost every last person on earth,” according to court records filed in U.S. District Court in Maryland.
Though court documents do not detail a specific planned date for an attack, the government said he had been amassing supplies and weapons since at least 2017, developed a spreadsheet of targets that included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and searched the Internet using phrases such as “best place in dc to see congress people” and “are supreme court justices protected.”
Hasson’s list of potential targets included prominent Democratic congressional leaders, activists, political organizations, and MSNBC and CNN media personalities including TV host Chris Hayes; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California; Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Virginia; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York; and many others.
Hasson listed also listed as targets Richard Blumenthal as “Sen blumen jew” and Elizabeth Warren as “poca warren,” presumably a reference to President Donald Trump’s nickname for her, “Pocahontas.”
Hasson is expected to appear in federal court today, Thursday at 1 pm.
Two days before the holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an intense discussion took place following breakfast at a Catholic church in Covington’s urban core.
The crowd listened as five courageous young women talked candidly about growing up in Northern Kentucky being, as it were, a bi-racial student in high school, an African-American of Jewish faith, an African-American of Muslim faith, a Mexican immigrant, and the Kentucky-born daughter of Mexican immigrants.
I left the church feeling buoyant: Over the years, the City of Covington has taken strong stances on issues pertaining to diversity, and here were people in Covington taking a leadership role in continuing to discuss issues of race, discrimination, and favoritism.
I felt very proud of this City’s commitment to being a place of opportunity for all people.
But my feelings of pride were soon tempered. I learned that Covington was being linked across the nation to intolerance and ethnic intimidation. Why? Because teens from a local high school were filmed surrounding and mocking native Americans participating in the Indigenous Peoples’ March in Washington D.C. The disrespect shown to a Native American elder, who happens to be a Vietnam Veteran, was particularly offensive.
Videos of the confrontation are disturbing, discouraging, and – frankly – appalling. And they are rightfully inspiring a tidal wave of condemnation, even on the City of Covington’s own social sites, leaving the impression that these are the values of the City of Covington.
Yes, the ironic thing – as people keep pointing out to me – is that the school isn’t even located within Covington. But that’s not the point.
The point is that because of the actions of people who live in Northern Kentucky, our region is being challenged again to examine our core identities, values, and beliefs. Regardless of what exact town we live in, we need to ask ourselves whether behavior like this DOES represent who we are and strive to be. Is this what our schools teach? Are these the beliefs that we as parents model and condone?
Is this the way we want the rest of the nation and the world to see us?
In answer, let me – as Covington’s mayor – be absolutely clear: No. The videos being shared across the nation do NOT represent the core beliefs and values of this City.
Covington is a diverse community, in areas of race, national origin, ethnicity, religious preference, sexual orientation, and income.
No, we’re not perfect. More progress needs to be made, and we will continue to work diligently on making it. In the meantime, Covington is proud of being a welcoming City where bigotry, discrimination, and hatred will not be tolerated. – Mayor Joe Meyer
