Kentucky Right-Wing Anti-Lockdown Protestors Hang Democrat Gov Beshear In Effigy With Sign Quoting John Wiles Booth

Via The Louisville Courier-Journal:

What started out as a freedom-loving celebration of the Second Amendment ahead of Memorial Day turned into Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear being hanged in effigy and protesters chanting outside the governor’s mansion.

The Second Amendment rally, meant to inspire people “about what it really means to be FREE,” according to Take Back Kentucky, attracted at least 100 people to the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort on Sunday.

It began as a celebration of constitutional rights but turned into a protest of coronavirus restrictions and Beshear’s administration. Folks toted guns and waved American and “Don’t tread on me” flags. Taps honored the fallen, and free flags were given to veterans from all military branches.

A sign hung on the effigy said, “sic semper tyrannis,” which translates to “thus always to tyrants,” a phrase famously used by John Wilkes Booth after shooting President Abraham Lincoln.

The effigy was hung just a short walk from where the Governor, First Lady, and their two young children live.

The “Memorial Day COVID Freedom Rally” was hosted by Frank Harris a Libertarian (aka Republican) who is running for Kentucky’s 6th. District US House seat and was promoted by the group Take Back Kentucky. Neither have taken responsibility nor condemned the hanging of the effigy.

Arkansas State House Representative Candidate Justin Jones: "Fags Are Disgusting"

Arkansas State House Representative Candidate Justin Jones: “Fags Are Disgusting” *UPDATED*

A Libertarian Party (ie Republican in disguise) candidate for state representative is being asked to “immediately abandon” his campaign after he made homophobic Facebook comments saying “fags are disgusting” and linking homosexuality to HIV.

Justin Jones, running for District 87 in northwest Arkansas, made the comments using his personal Facebook account in response to a Hawaii woman’s post about her gay friend being unable to donate blood.

Myah Baeza, whose personal political beliefs range from Republican to Libertarian, wrote: “”This is such an antiquated rule and it disgusts me. Women can have AIDS, too, and they search for it anyways?”

“Knowing that my gay friends can’t give blood, that has always not sat well with me,” Baeza told NBC affiliate KARK in an interview on Monday.

But Jones responded to her post, writing: The likelihood of a fag catching HIV is 1000% more likely than any straight person.”

“Why in God’s name would you say that?” Baeza wrote back.

“Because it’s true,” Jones replied.

The Benton County Libertarian Party disavowed Jones’ remarks and calling on him to drop out of the race.

“Mr. Jones was until very recently a Republican supporter and candidate. He came to the Libertarian Party, as have many others, because of his dissatisfaction with their failed policies and actions. The bigotry he brought with him, however, is certainly not welcome and will not be tolerated by the Benton County Libertarian Party, the Libertarian Party of Arkansas, or the national Libertarian Party; nor should it be tolerated by any decent person of any political party,” Michael Kalagias, the county party chair said in a statement.

But Jones will not drop out

“In response to the backlash caused by the media, it has been brought to my attention that I should suspend my campaign,” Jones wrote in a statement posted to his website. “After a phone call with the Chair of the Benton County Libertarian Party, Michael J. Kalagias, I informed him, that I will continue my candidacy for State Representative. My candidacy is about the people of Elm Springs, Siloam Springs, Springdale, and Tontitown. My campaign will continue to fight on the behalf of District 87. I would like to thank everyone for their support in my growing campaign.”

As for Baeza, she’s since blocked Jones on Facebook, meaning she no longer has to associate with him. But that said, she still feels his comments were inappropriate.

You know what to do.

Ron Paul: Straights Cause More Trouble In The Military Than Gays.

Talking  to Iowa State’s Barry Snell, Ron Paul when talking about gays in the military and DADT almost sounds……. reasonable.   You’d never know he’s stark raving mad.

Well, like I said, everybody has the same rights as everybody else, so homosexuals in the military isn’t a problem. It’s only if they’re doing things they shouldn’t be, if they’re disruptive. But there’s … men and women getting into trouble with each other too. And there’s a lot more heterosexuals in the military, so logically they’re causing more trouble than gays. So yes, you just have the same rules for everybody and treat them all the same.”

But when Paul switches to subject of same sex marriage he reverts to getting the Goverment out of the marriage issue  and leaving it to the states to decide.

“You know I just, I don’t think of people in little groups like that. I don’t think of people as ‘gay’ here and ‘black people’ there, or ‘women’ over here…Everybody is an individual person and everybody has the same rights as anyone else. The government has no business in your private life, you know, so if one person is allowed to do something so should everyone else. The whole gay marriage issue is a private affair and the federal government has no say.”

Back to insanity for Paul and social injustice to boot.  Because as long as there is one federal benefit or law that favors a straight married couples and their family which is not available to same sex couples it can never become a “states only” issue.

Unless of course all straight married couple federal rights and benefits are rescinded of course and we are all on the same playing field.  But you’ll never hear that out of Ron Paul’s mouth.

Video – Ron Paul Attack Ad Against Rick Perry: “I Love Regan and Perry Is An Al Gore Loving Texas Cheerleader!”

“”America must decide who to trust:  Al Gore’s Texascheerleader or the one who stood with Reagan.”
Answer!  NONE of the above.
The revisionist history that the GOP has installed for Regan and shoved down peoples throats is disgusting.
THE TRUTH IS that Regan is the President who helped bring back poverty to the masses, the President who changed American foreign policy, by selling arms to Iran, and forwarding the profits to right-wing Central American dictators to help fund their death squads, and most of all as the President who IS GUILTY of Genocide and Murder against the gay community and is personally responsible for the deaths of thousands upon thousands of gay men who died of AIDS
If that’s who Ron Paul compares himself to then he is nothing short of a monster.
