Congressional Democrats Push for US Apology To “Hundreds Of Thousands” Fired LGBT Federal Workers

Vis NBC News reports:

LGBT civil servants and service members were systematically fired or forced to resign due to their sexual orientation or gender identity over the past seven decades, and a proposed bill is seeking to have the federal government issue an official apology acknowledging its past discriminatory policies.

The bill, introduced Thursday by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., says the federal government “discriminated against and terminated hundreds of thousands” of LGBTQ people who served in the armed forces, the foreign service and the federal civil service for decades, “causing untold harm to those individuals professionally, financially, socially, and medically, among other harms.”

Kaine and Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., the country’s first openly gay U.S. senator, led the introduction of the resolution. The document is co-sponsored by Democratic Sens. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Mark Warner (D-Va.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), among others.

A lot of news was reported this week that received little or no attention because of the Derek Chauvin case. This is one of the stories that went overlooked.

Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte on Thursday signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, bolstering religious beliefs as a claim or defense in court. Democrats and other opponents have decried the new law, arguing it would empower people to freely discriminate against LGBTQ people with beliefs that they are immune in the courts.

Democratic lawmakers in both chambers who are LGBTQ shared soul-bearing testimony in floor sessions about the message the bill’s passage would send to communities who already suffer discrimination. The legislation spurred opponents to rally outside the Capitol, while more than 250 companies co-signed a letter opposing SB 215.

Religion is a CHOICE. Being gay, not so much.

At this point I’d usually say BOYCOTT MONTANA but c’mon there is really nothing there to boycott.

Federal Agents Arrest Man Who Bombed Gay Owned Gym in New Jersey

A Camden Count man has been arrested by federal agents and charged with detonating an explosive device outside the gay owned G-City Crossfit Gym in in Gloucester City. New Jersey on August 26th.

Dwayne A. Vandergrift was arrested and found with two more explosive devices, body-armored tactical vests, and an illegal short-barreled rifle.  Vandergrift’s motive at this time is officially unknown but many suspect that he targeted the gym because of the large rainbow flag hanging in it’s front window.

The gym is well known as a gay owned and operated gym and LGBT safe space.

Vandergrift detonated the bomb around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday and damaged the front entrance of the gym on the 500 block of South Broadway, said Gloucester City police.

The FBI’s South Jersey Resident Agency and the FBI’s Philadelphia Joint Terrorism Task Force has been leading the investigation

Fortunately no injuries to staff or members were reported.

Two gay men in Miami were attacked and shot Tuesday night in a drive-by attack leaving one in critical condition, after they were kissing in a car — a lesbian bystander was also shot.

Clive Khouri, told Miami TV station WPLG that he and a friend were in a car about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when they were surrounded by men on all-terrain vehicles who shot at them.

“When I tried to speed off to come around this corner, they kept trying to shoot, shoot, shoot,” he said. “Some of the guys probably saw us kissing in the car.”

A bullet grazed Khouri’s head the other man in the cars name has not been released, he was shot in the head and is in critical condition at Jackson South Trauma Center.

Bystander Shakena Jefferson was also grazed by a bullet when she was trying to get into a car with her wife nearby.

Miami Police are currently searching for the shooters and investigating the attack as a hate crime. They ask that anyone with information about the crime call Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).

On Thursday German state police arrested Yusuf Erkocoglu, a Turkish teenager caught planning to blow up a gay club in Frankfurt. German media outlets reported that the 17-year-old suspect has both Turkish and German citizenship.

The US government played a role in preventing Erkocoglu ‘s suspected attack, according to the intelligence source in Germany. United States Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, told the Jerusalem Post : “The US will always work with our German Government partners to thwart acts of terror.

A Guerneville, California man was arrested Saturday after threatening to set off pipe bombs at a Safeway in order to harm gay people and stole two rainbow flags from the Guerneville Chamber of Commerce, throwing one in the Russian River.

The Press Democrat reports:

The suspect’s intent was to injure sheriff’s deputies and members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, Lt. Eddie Engram said in a statement. The rainbow flag is a symbol of the LGBTQ pride movement.

Vincent Joseph O’Sullivan was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of petty theft, making criminal threats and a hate crime, and was held on $50,000 bail.

The first flag theft from the pole in a public plaza at the corner of First Street and River Road was reported on April 26, and on May 5 a replacement rainbow flag was stolen, Engram said.

Deputies investigating the thefts learned of the pipe bomb threats and determined that O’Sullivan was the suspect in both matters, he said.

Guerneville, CA is a town of 4500 people in wine country. It swells to 3x that size every weekend….mostly catering to gay clientele. It’s earned the nickname the “Gay Riveria” It has been a gay destination since the late 1970’s.

 

Canadian Gay Serial Killer Bruce McArthur Gets Life Sentence

Toronto police have announced three additional counts of first-degree murder have been laid against Bruce McArthur. Detective Sgt. Hank Idsinga told reporters Monday that McArthur is being charged with three additional counts of first-degree murder in relation to the deaths of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Marmudi and Dean Lisowick.

Lisowick was never reported missing to police. Investigators believe he was murdered between May 2016 and July 2017. He would’ve been 47-years-old at the time of his death. Marmudi was 50-years-old when he was reported missing by his family in Scarborough.

Idsinga told reporters that the remains from “at least” three victims were found at the bottom of three large planters, which were located on properties linked to McArthur. Police have obtained over a dozen planters from around the city.

Police have identified 30 properties linked to McArthur, and “have conducted searches at the majority of them,” Idsinga said. Police believe there are more remains at some of these properties, and are actively working to uncover more.

Police had been investigating McArthur (pictured above) for months.

We do believe there are more, and I have no idea how many more there are going to be,” Idsinga said. “We’ll lay more charges as we get them.”
