The month after the Florida Senate passed the Parental Rights in Education bill, aka the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, on March 8th. anti-LGBT hate speech has surged online to over 406%.
Via NBC NEWS: On March 28, when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, signed the bill into law, there was also a marked increase in the use of the “#OKGroomer” hashtag, which the report said was often used as a derogatory response to tweets from LGBTQ educators, organizations and health care providers, among others. On the day after DeSantis signed the bill, “OK groomer” tweets peaked with 9,219 total, or about one every nine seconds, the report found. Tweets from just 10 people — including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and Christina Pushaw, DeSantis’ press secretary — were viewed an estimated 48 million times and were “responsible for driving” the “grooming” narrative, researchers found. “We’re in the middle of a growing wave of hate and demonization targeting LGBTQ+ people — often distributed digitally by opportunistic politicians and so-called ‘influencers’ for personal gain,” Imran Ahmed, CEO of the Center for Countering Digital Hate
Researchers collected a sample of 989,547 tweets that were posted between Jan. 1 and July 27 and that mentioned the LGBTQ community alongside words including “groomer” and “pedophile.” They found that an average of 6,607 tweets a day used such rhetoric in the month after the bill passed, a significant increase from 1,307 tweets the month before.
Last week we reported about Dorothy Bond (right) a principal at Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tennessee who came inder fire for telling gay students that they’re going to hell and and threatening to administer severe punishment – including 60-day suspensions, assignments to an alternative schools or expulsion – to any students who were observed publicly displaying affection for members of the same sex and who also told students ”
After much publicity and many complaints Bond resigned (and rightfully so) late late week without comment. But now the junior jackboot crowd of students at Haywood High in Brownsville, TN,are rallying to get their beloved anti-gay religious extremist principal back
WREG 13 in Memphis eports that some 300 students gathered in the school cafeteria Friday for a peaceful demonstration supporting Bond.
“Some say they don’t agree with the comments she made, some do. I do personally,” Haywood freshman Bryce Young told the station.
“She’s just teaching us life. That’s how I feel about it and I really agree with her. She did say something about gays and homos, but she didn’t mean to offend anybody. They twisted her words around.”
Dorothy Bond (right) is the principal at Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tennessee is under fire, and rightfully so for telling gay students that they’re going to hell and and threatening to administer severe punishment – including 60-day suspensions, assignments to an alternative school or expulsion – to any students who were observed publicly displaying affection for members of the same sex.
“At first she was talking about PDA and she turned around and she directly pointed to the gay people and said if you’re gay you’re going to hell and if you’re pregnant, you’re life is over,” Amber Whittiemore said.
“When I heard about it, I was outraged,” said Haywood High School parent Tony Snipes..”
Snipes also said Bond rebuffed him when he called her to complain. ‘I’m sorry if I offended you but my view is still the same you’re not welcome here.” Bond said.
Dorothy Bond has demonstrated her failure to understand what her job is and how to do it. She is free to be a “Christian” but she is not free to pass final judgement on others and menatlly abuse children while she is acting in her capacity as a public school principal. This is just one in a long line of examples of “extremist Christians” abusing their power. She needs to resign and if she refuses, she should be fired..
The local Board of Education phone number is 731-772-9613. Call them NOW and let them know that Dorothy Brown needs to be go.

A few weeks ago at Sequoya High School in Madisonville, Tenn., senior Nathan Carroll was attempting to start a Gay Straight Alliance he was threatened with suspension by the principal Maurice Moser.
Now we are hearing reports that at the same high school last week. Principal Maurice Moser physically assaulted one of his students for wearing a t-shirt promoting the Gay Straight Alliance. Chris Sigler, a 17-year-old Senior, was reportedly shoved, bumped in the chest and verbally harassed by Moser for wearing the t-shirt that said “GSA: We’ve got your back.”
Sigler wore a homemade T-shirt to school last Tuesday that said “GSA: We’ve Got Your Back.” A teacher ordered Sigler to cover up the shirt in the future. Sigler, knowing he had a right to wear the shirt, wore it again Friday, and resisted an order to remove the shirt. Sigler says that Moser then ordered all students out of the classroom, except for Sigler’s sister Jessica, who refused to leave. According to both students, Moser then grabbed Sigler’s arm, shoved him, and chest-bumped him repeatedly while asking “Who’s the big man now?” Sigler’s mother reported that when she arrived at the school, she saw her son seated in a desk with Moser leaning over him and shouting in Sigler’s face. The Siglers filed a report about the incident that afternoon with the Madisonville Police Department.
“All I want is to have a GSA at my school to help stop the bullying against gays and lesbians and their friends who support them,” Sigler said. “The shirt was a way to use my voice and show my support for the club. The way I was treated shows even more why we need a GSA here.”
Tennessee the NEW Mississippi!
Any principal who physically assaults a student needs to be fired, criminal charges should be filed immediately. and the parents should sue the principal and the school district for every cent they have.
Voice your disgust directly to the school. Flood them with paper. Flood them with phone calls. Show them that they CANNOT and WILL NOT get away with this type of abuse to our younger LGBT Community!
