Jared Leto Heckled By Trans Audience Member At The Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Jaret Leto

THR is reporting that Jared Leto was “heckled” by a transgender woman from the audience while accepting the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Virtuosos Award for his performance as transgender AIDS activist Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club.

“Trans-misogyny does not deserve an award,” yelled out the unidentified woman, adding that Leto didn’t “deserve an award for playing a trans-woman” because he is male.

Countering from the stage Leto replied “Because I’m a man, I don’t deserve to play that part?” he asked, rhetorically. “So you would hold a role against someone who happened to be gay or lesbian — they can’t play a straight part?”

Leto and the unidentified woman continued the back-and-forth, arguing that straight people always play transgendered characters and receive awards for it. Leto repeated his argument that by her logic, only straight actors could play straight roles. “Then you’ve made sure people that are gay, people that aren’t straight, people like the Rayons of the world would never have the opportunity to turn the tables and explore parts of that art,” Leto said to applause from the audience.

Though Leto and the woman were spotted after the confrontation having what was described as a “cordial” conversation, both her  and Leto’s  statements (even though his didn’t t really respond to the point that she was making about trans actresses actually playing trans roles) did make valid points about the state of openly LGBT actors in LGBT roles as well as the role of transformation in art.

Newt Gingrich Heckled By Gay Activists In Minnesota….. NICE!

Tuesday morning in Bloomington, Minn., gay-rights activists heckled Newt Gingrich and as The Atlantic notes things got a bit “physical” after one heckler was escorted out of the room, another stood up and took over. Before police could get to the second protester, a member of the audience (a really UGLY member of the audience) took matters into her own hands, giving the heckler a solid shove and waving her fist while pointing out of the room.

Video – Rick Santorum Gets “Gang Heckled” At New Hampshire Campaign Stop

In New Hampshire where the slogan is “Live Free or Die” Rick Sanatorium is is having a constipatingly hard time of it as people are standing up and fighting back against the right wing extremist GOP candidate.

Yesterday in Keene, New Hamphire Roll Over Rover Rick Santorum was “gang heckled” by a group of mixed protestors which appeared to be “a combination of gay rights activists, Ron Paul supporters and Occupy Wall Street protesters.”

Santorum was continually interrupted by the  by hecklers, particularly one man who shouted every few minutes. “What about equality for the gays?” , after Santorum opened with a request for respect, “How much respect for you have for gay people, Rick!” the man shouted

Originally being from the Upper Eastern seaboard,  I am PROUD of the citizens of New Hampshire  for rolling out the unwelcome mat at Santorums’s every rest stop in the state. His extremist views may fly among the evangelical bigots of IA, the South and the Midwest but they won’t fly where sane people live and religious zealots are scarce, and NH is showing him that sweater vests and a milquetoast aura can’t disguise what a nasty little fucking Nazi Santorum really is.

This should be happening in EVERY STATE that Santorum and these evil disgusting cretins who want to ruin our world stop in.

Rick Perry Gets Heckled After Iowa Debate: “Why Do You Hate Gay People?!”

Rick Perry spoke at a coffee house in Ames, Iowa yesterday one day after the GOP debate where he was heckled and screamed at  which led to him leaving out a back door and straight to his vehicle to make a getaway after several Iowans screamed questions about his views on gays.

“Why do you hate gay people so much?” one person in the audience screamed as Perry wrapped up a campaign stop without taking questions from the audience.  “Go back to Texas” another screamed.

Iowa State University associate professor Warren Blumenfeld was one of the people who shouted questions to Perry, asking him why he was marginalizing and demonizing gay people.

“The implication is if you’re gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, you’re not a real American,” said Blumenfeld. “He is marginalizing people and dividing this country, and he’s demonizing proud Americans who just don’t have the social identities as he has.”

Ames Iowa resident Andrew Koppenhaver and a friend who is a Marine who ate both straight — said the questions are fair to ask, particularly since Perry brought the issue up himself by releasing his recently anti-gay political ad.  “I believe in liberty and I believe we shouldn’t make issues out of sexuality or religion,” Koppenhaver said. “It’s a personal issue and the purpose of this country is not to tell people what to do.”

Video – Mitt Romney: “Corporations Are People” (So Were The Borg Once Too!)

Mittens being heckled at the Iowa State Fair

Note to Mittens: If you really believe corporations are people then its time to start throwing some of them in federal prison for the crimes the CEO, board of directors and management are responsible for. But I doubt your “collective corrupt GOP hive mind” allows for that senario.

President Obama Heckled on DADT Repeal Failure and AIDS Funding at House and Senate Democratic Committees Fundraisers In NYC

At the ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City last night Obama raised $1.4 million at receptions and a dinner for the House and Senate Democratic campaign committees, and he also drew the ire and anger of LGBT Activist.  Obama had just finished saying it’s “nice just to stop by and see some friends” when the activist began shouting.  “”Obama broken promises KILL”

The hecklers were so loud Obama went off-script several times to address them, insisting he’s increased AIDS funding and is working to overturn the military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. He told them to go shout at Republicans, noting that a vote on repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” failed this week in the Senate, with Republicans united in opposition. (Yea and you did so much for it to pass Barack)

“Some of those signs should be going up at the other folks’ events, and folks should be hollering at the other folks’ event. Because the choice in November could not be clearer,” the president said. Then switching to the fear technique “We heard your point. And as I said before, we increased AIDS funding. … The people who will take over if we don’t focus on the election, I promise you, will cut AIDS funding.”

“When I was running for office … maybe we gave people the wrong impression about how change happens,” Obama said

Or maybe you just lied.  T:the blame Republicans” is getting very stale because we do blame the Republicans.  But we also blame you and the Democratic Party who made promised that you had no intention of keeping just to take our money and our support not keep and for your lackluster support.  Not only one side is innocent here and I refure to play the lesser of two evils.  You are BOTH guilty for me still being a second class citizen/

We can’t scare the Republicans they are all nutsy koo-koo.  But hhopefully though we will be able to scare you Obama and the Democrats.
