They hate gays, they hate minorities, and they hate healthy people.
The officially sanctioned anti-gay, right wing extremist hate group Family Research Council has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court asking that the health care reform law be struck down because it will “fund abortion,” among other reasons.
via FRC Press Release:
Family Research Council (FRC) was joined today by 30 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in filing an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in NFIB v. Sebelius, supporting two of the petitions for certiorari in that case, the first filed by the National Federation of Independent Business and the second by 26 states.
The Supreme Court brief was coauthored by Klukowski and eminent constitutional scholar Professor Nelson Lund of George Mason University. Of the amicus brief Klukowski made the following comments:
“We are honored that so many Members of Congress joined our brief. At first severability sounds arcane, but as we saw in the lower court it is the essential key to striking down Obamacare entirely. It’s not enough to only strike down the individual mandate. It’s only one section in a 450-section law. Hundreds of other provisions in Obamacare will kill jobs, ration healthcare and fund abortion, all while bankrupting healthcare providers and burdening America’s families.
“We look forward to building on our success regarding severability in the lower court, helping the excellent lawyers representing NFIB and the states persuade the Supreme Court why the individual mandate is one of those rare provisions requiring the entire law to go down.”
Let’s face it kids if you aren’t a white, right wing, evangelical “Christian” extremist like them they want you dead.

Starting today, Thursday, Google is going to begin covering a cost the extra cost that gay and lesbian employees must pay when their partners receive domestic partner health benefits, largely to compensate them for an extra tax that heterosexual married couples do not pay tkanks to the unjust Federal Law “The Defense Of Marriage Act,
Under DOMA, employer-provided health benefits for domestic partners are counted as taxable income, if the partner is not considered a dependent. The tax owed is based on the value of the partner’s coverage paid by the employer.
On average, employees with domestic partners will pay about $1,069 more a year in taxes than a married employee with the same coverage, according to a 2007 report by M. V. Lee Badgett, director of the Williams Institute, a research group that studies sexual orientation policy issues.
The extra compensation to cover the domestic partner tax will apply only to same-sex domestic partners, Mr. Bock said, because heterosexual couples can avoid the added tax by marrying. (Same-sex couples can make their unions official in several states, but their relationship will not be federally recognized.)
The additional pay will also cover the dependents of the employee’s domestic partner. The changes will be retroactive to Jan. 1, and will apply only to workers in the United States.
Congress has tried to address the fact that same-sex couples pay more for domestic partner health coverage. The health care overhaul legislation passed by the House last November included language that would have eliminated the tax on employer-provided coverage. But the provision did not make it into the final legislation signed by President Obama in March. And Obama did not fight for it to be included.
Nice work, Google!
Maybe we should vote for “GOOGLE For President”?
Well at least the insane drug addict didn’t blame it on us gays……..yet.
Limbaugh on his radio show yesterday:
“You know, a couple of days after the health care bill had been signed into law Obama ran around all over the country saying, ‘Hey, you know, I’m looking around. The earth hadn’t opened up. There’s no Armageddon out there. The birds are still chirping.’ I think the earth has opened up. God may have replied. This volcano in Iceland has grounded more airplanes — airspace has more affected — than even after 9/11 because of this plume, because of this ash cloud over Northern and Western Europe. At the Paris airport they’re telling people to head to the train station to catch trains out of France, and when people get to the train station they’re telling people, “There aren’t any seats until at least April 22nd,” basically a week from now. It’s got everybody in a shutdown. Earth has opened up. I don’t know whether it’s a rebirth or Armageddon. Hopefully it’s a rebirth, God speaking.”
Take another OxyContin Rush, it’s obvious you need it.
Jack Cassell, a doctor in Mount Dora, Florida, posted a sign urging his Obama-voting patients to “seek urologic care elsewhere” in protest of health-insurance reform!
The sign reads: “If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years.”
Cassell may be walking a thin line between his right to free speech and his professional obligation, said William Allen, professor of bioethics, law and medical professionalism at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine.
Allen said doctors cannot refuse patients on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability, but political preference is not one of the legally protected categories specified in civil-rights law. By insisting he does not quiz his patients about their politics and has not turned away patients based on their vote, the doctor is “trying to hold onto the nub of his ethical obligation,” Allen said.
“But this is pushing the limit,” he said.
Outspoken Politician Alan Grayson described Cassell’s sign as “ridiculous.”
“I’m disgusted,” he said. “Maybe he thinks the Hippocratic Oath says, ‘Do no good.’ If this is the face of the right wing in America, it’s the face of cruelty. … Why don’t they change the name of the Republican Party to the Sore Loser Party?
It’s good to see that a LOSER like Cassell choose the right profession like UROLOGY that he could relate to.
What a DICK!
Despite dozens upon dozens of witnesses Tea Partiers and Conservative Bloggers are saying since there’s no video of any of them calling Rep. Barney Frank the F-word or Rep. John Lewis the N-word it’s not true!
GayPatriot’s Bruce Carroll;
Who are these “observers”? Isn’t it very, very convenient that Barney Frank — the most well-known gay Congressman — and John Lewis — the most well-known civil rights leader in Congress — were THE Members that happened to be the ones insulted.
Why, pray tell, doesn’t Rep. Cleaver press charges? I WANT to know who this alleged race-baiter was. Aren’t Democrats always whining about “hate crimes”? So come on, Cleaver, press charges. If it was a Tea Party protestor — call them out. I want to know.
This entire weekend has been a bunch of crap and public relations stunts by Democrats that were simply reported, without checking, by the Mainstream Media. ABC News should be ashamed of itself for forwarding these outrageous and completely uncorroborated stories of hate mongering by protestors. They are doing this nation a severe disservice which I believe we will all live to regret.
For those of you who don’t know Bruce Carroll, he is a ReTHUGlican first and a homo second and the same columnist who claimed that gay hater Ryan Sorba booed himself at CPAC.
Lets just tell it like it is shall we? Only morons like the tea baggers would say “if there’s no video, it didn’t happen.” BTW, there’s plenty of vids and pictures of the signs that have been being held up during their rallies. They can deny and deny, and we can prove they lie and lie. (btw, there is a BIG diference between calling someone a “moron” and a “n***er”) And now the teabaggers are getting sensitive to the fact that their supporters are acting like rabid dogs in public, and even the media are wising up to it. They are in full damage control mode.
HRC’s Namby Pamby Passive Agressive Statement:
“Today, the House Rules Committee released the reconciliation bill through which it will vote on the measure that passed the Senate in December. We are deeply disappointed that, after months of lobbying for their inclusion, important measures specifically addressing the needs of LGBT people and people with HIV – ending the unfair taxation of employer-provided domestic partner health benefits, permitting states to offer early HIV treatment under Medicaid, collecting critical health data on LGBT people and addressing discrimination in health care – are not a part of this bill. On a mixed note, this bill restores $50 million to fund failed abstinence-only sex education programs, but also provides $75 million for comprehensive programs that also address the prevention of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. According the House leadership, a vote on this measure is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. While we are saddened that the House has abandoned provisions that would make care more accessible and affordable to our community, we recognize that the health reform measure will still help all Americans, including LGBT people.”
The HRC truly IS a useless organization for lobbying. Now I don’t think the healthcare bill should go down because it lacks these inclusions but HRC’s purpose isn’t to cheerlead for healthcare reform for all. It is to lobby on behalf of the LGBT community…period.
It’s time to PROTEST HRC’s Headquarters in Washington and DEMAND they fire Solonese and that The Board resign and be replaced by REAL LGBT Advocates and Activists.
It’s sadly really hit that point. We need to overthrow them.
Nancy Pelosi via Talking Points Memo:
“We’re talking about something that’s not going to be part of the legislation. I’m quite sad that a public option isn’t in there. But it isn’t a case of it’s not in there because the Senate is whipping against it. It’s not in there because they don’t have the votes to have it in there. We had it. We wanted it. They didn’t have it. It’s not in the reconciliation.”
With an overwheling majority of Americans for the Public Option in The Health Care Reform Bill this was the Democrats last chance to not only save the face of their party and their majority in the 2010/2012 Elections, but to also show that our goverment and elected politicans actually listen to the people of America which has now unequivocally been proved they do not.
In a nutshell, America sucks.
The White House has its official Health Care Summit Twitter hash tag. And the video is streaming for those of you who are the type that can’t look away from car wrecks on the highway.
Republicans demanded the public, on-camera summit, and then they dismissed it as political theater. (It was a refreshingly honest self-assessment of their strategy, actually.) Republicans also demanded that Barack Obama post his compromise bill online before the summit, and then they blasted him for posting a bill online before the summit. (Nothing as moronic as a Republicn politican is there?)
Okay so lets be real here and not mince words or get caught in spin. This whole summit thing is a waste of time. It’s only purpose is to embarrass Republicans (and rightfuully so the DO deserve it) and give political cover to House Democrats to vote for this thing that they’re terrified of voting for, even though they already did and its turned into something that was well meaning in the beginning but has turned into something other than actual reform and a bill that would help those too poor for insurance. After all it used to be a health care plan, actually. It is now the Senate Health Insurance Reform bill.
This just really shows how dysfuntional our Goverment is. And if you want proof at how crazy and insane Republicans are in todays session Republican Tom Coburn blamed diabetes and obesity on food stamps.
This fucking thing is a nightmare.
In an attempt to save movey and kiss moderate and ReTHUHlican ass (The man is an freakin spineless IDIOT) all Gay-related provisions in the original House health Care Reform Bill have been dropped from a new version announced by Barack Obama yesterday that closely resembles the Seante watered down, do nothing version.
“Most LGBT and HIV activists had supported the House bill because it included key LGBT specific provisions, including provisions. In addition to the data collection, it prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the provision of health care; enabled people with HIV and low incomes to obtain Medicare coverage earlier in the course of their illness; and eliminated the tax that gay employees must pay if their same-sex partners or spouses receive health coverage from their employers’ plan. Straight employees don’t pay that tax but, for gay couples, the coverage is characterized by the federal government as additional income for the gay employee. Tammy Baldwin said Monday she would ‘continue to fight for all of my priorities in the final health care reform bill, including those related to LGBT health.
Fierce fucking Advocate my ass. That bus we all thought Obama was throwing us under is turning out to be a steamroller. But I am sure the HRC will spins this as “Don’t worry, the president still has his secret plan for us,” or some sort of shit like that while Joe Solmonese is invited to hear the Cast of “GLEE” sing at the White House Easter Egg Hunt.
The absolute gall and nerve to sacrifice LGBT lives to appease the Right Wing is just disgusting and not what we voted for and something that we should not stand for.
