With all the negative press about musicians that have a gay following like Azealia Banks and Fantasia with their anti-gay remarks, here’s a story of a musician that has gotten it right. PopRock artist Kelly Clarkson sat down recently to once again address gay rumors that have surronded her career. Newly engaged Clarkson feels this is gossip is not only wrong but also insulting, not to her but to her gay fans:
“People think, ‘Oh, she’s been single for too long. That’s kind of an insult to the gay community. Being single doesn’t mean you’re gay. But I’m never insulted by it, obviously. I mean, I get hit on by the hottest girls ever. Oh, my god, if I were a lesbian, I would be so in luck. But it’s just not my thing.”
Earlier last year Clarkson said basically the same thing and feels the whole thing is trivial at best:
“I just think it is very ignorant to assume that you know everything about someone. People keep saying that I’m gay and … yeah, I’m not. I’m pretty sure I’ve never made out with a girl. Sometimes, I wish I were because at this point, I would probably get hit on by a lot of girls! It’s just not helping me because I am straight. No boy wants to hit on me because I make mean songs about them and they think I’m gay.”
You may remember last year that Clarkson spoke out in support of President Obama because of his support of the LGBT community during the 2012 election season:
“I’ve been reading online about the debates and I’m probably going to vote for Obama again… I can’t support Romney’s policies as I have a lot of gay friends and I don’t think it’s fair they can’t get married”
Actress Carrie Fisher laid it all on the table about John Travolta in an interview with The Advocate. In addition to talking about being left by CAA superagent Bryan Lourd for another man and her Broadway one-woman show, Fisher also dished on her old friend John Travolta’s sexuality.
When asked by the Advocate if John’s legal team has “any business demanding Gawker to remove a recent post suggestion that he’s given blow jobs in saunas”, Fisher, who the mag notes goes “way back” with Travolta, gave a pretty straight forward and truthful response:
“Wow! I mean, my feeling about John has always been that we know and we don’t care. Look, I’m sorry that he’s uncomfortable with it, that’s all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when you make that kind of legal fuss. Just leave it be.”
Montanna Fishboune, the daughter of Lawrence Fishbourne in the wake of announcing that she is appearing in a sex tape with Vivid Video to jump start her Hollywood career, took to Twitter today and claimed that actorr Jamie Foxx will soon appear in a gay sex tape and also tweeted the following homophobic comment:
This is in response to self pronoting piece of trash (It’s okay Tana, I don;t blame society) releasing a sex tape of herself as a means of promoting her career. (Some career) Jamie Foxx spoke about it yesterday on his radio show in which he made fun of Fishburne and her decision.
In her tweets, Fishburne said, “”Jamie Foxx actually has a gay porno in the works with Vivid. Don’t believe me, just ask him about it and tell him I told y’all.”
Later, she tweeted again on the subject of Foxx. Her tweet stated, “Enough on Jaime (sic) though, I don’t want to advertise his sex-tape debut for free”. A follow up tweet said, “It’s okay we have a lot of gay people in society let’s not blame Jamie Foxx, blame society”.
