Bialystok, Poland PRIDE Attacked by Thousands of Anti-Gay Fascist Extremists

The marchers at the first gay pride parade here in the conservative Polish city of Bialystok expected that they would be met with resistance. But last week when Katarzyna Sztop-Rutkowska saw the angry mob of thousands that awaited the marchers, who numbered only a few hundred, she was shocked.

“The most aggressive were the football hooligans, but they were joined by normal people — people with families, people with small children, elderly people,” she said. They blocked her way, first hurling invective, then bricks and stones and fireworks, she said. From the balconies, people threw eggs and rotten vegetables. Even before the march started, there were violent confrontations, and by the time the tear gas cleared and the crowd dispersed, dozens were injured and Poland was left reeling.

Much as the racist violence in Charlottesville, Va., shocked the conscience of America, the brutality in Bialystok last week has rocked many in Poland and raised grave concerns over a steady diet of anti-gay political propaganda in the country.

Unlike other right-wing counterparts in Poland, who have attempted to ban pride marches from their cities — Truskolaski let the Bialystock event proceed — despite widespread criticism from officials in the ruling Law and Justice Party (PiS).

Bialystok’s PRIDE marchers were outnumbered, four to one, by thousands of counter-protesters, according to local police.

Dozens of LGBT marchers were physically assaulted before, during and after the parade, according to the Warsaw-based advocacy group Campaign Against Homophobia (KPH), the organizers of the parade.

About 32 protest groups registered for Saturday, the majority in opposition to the pride march. It included the far-right group All-Polish Youth, which took its name from fascist and anti-Semitic Nazi WWII youth organization Hitler Youth.

The first-ever Gay Pride parade was held in the eastern Polish city of Bialystok on Saturday, but the marchers faced violence from anti-gay thugs and conservative campaigners staged counter protests. Leaflets anonymously placed around the city ahead of the march said that streets would be “contaminated with LGBT bacteria.”

Almost 1000 marchers demanding of LGBT+ rights marched through the city some 124 miles northeast of Warsaw, waving rainbow flags and carrying banners 

Counter-protesters yelled “God, honor and motherland” and “Bialystok free of perverts,” the pride marchers chanted “Poland free of fascists” in return. Bags of flour and other objects were thrown out of Communist-era housing blocks at the pride marchers, who were moving along the route through the Bialystok city center.

According to Polish officials, there were about 32 protests registered for Saturday, the majority in opposition to the pride march.

Bialystok’s Catholic Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda called on congregants to “defend Christian values” by attending the picnic, adding that the LGBT march was “an initiative foreign to” the region.

Flash bangs were set off by far-right groups outside a housing complex as they attempted to block pride marchers from proceeding any further. They did not succeed and the marchers continued on.

“We are in the middle of an ongoing wave of hateful propaganda, which is fueled by both the state and the Catholic Church,” said Hubert Sobecki, co-president of Warsaw-based LGBT+ organization Love Does Not Exclude.

The Pride march ended at 5 p.m. after it completed its route. Police deployed stun grenades and pepper spray to clear the far-right protesters.

Police arrested over 20 far right nationalist protesters, four of whom were suspected of committing crimes, including the use of threats and against officers.

Gay Russian Couple Arrested Outside US Embassy In Moscow For Honoring Orlando Victims

A gay Russian male couple paying tribute to the Orlando shooting victims were arrested in Russia on Sunday. Islam Abdullabeckov and his boyfriend Felix Glyukman were on their way to the U.S. embassy in Moscow on Sunday afternoon with a candle, some flowers, and a sign that read “Love Wins.” But the moment the young couple laid the sign down on the pavement outside the embassy, they were arrested by policemen under Russia’s draconian Homosexual Propaganda Law.

We wanted to put a poster down there, put down some flowers, and light a candle. Instead, we were taken to local police department and accused of unsanctioned picketing.”

The couple was to a police station and released after three hours of interrogation. If found guilty, they could each face up to 10 days in jail or a fine of $900.

Homosexuality itself is not illegal in Russia per se, but state sanctioned homophobia is rampant

A video showing the arrest of Felik and Islam was released by a Russian TV network. The video shows a police officer grabbing Islam by the arm and putting him into the police cruiser where Glyukman joins his partner. The couple has since made it clear that this arrest will not deter them from expressing their condolences to the dead. They have also expressed their shock over the fact that even in a country as liberal as the United States, such a homophobic act was committed. The couple’s lawyer says that he hopes the situation will not end up in court.

 

Thousands of Anti-Gay Orthodox Fascists Attack LGBT Activists In Georgia – Video

In what can only be describes as a medieval scene of violence a raging mob of thousands of anti-gay fascists led by orthodox priests in Tbilisi, Georgia descended upon a downtown rally designed to commemorate the May 17 International Day against Homophobia attacking LGBT participants and screaming. “Kill them! Tear them to pieces!” in the Georgian capital’s central Freedom Square.

The crowd consisting of mostly young men and  orthodox priests — stormed through police barricades  armed with stones, poles and other weapons,.

Tbilisi Police managed to get most of the LGBT activists into municipal buses, before angry protesters surrounded the vehicles threw stones and followed the buses as they pushed their way out of the square.

Some LGBT activist managed to seek  asylum in a grocery store and police managed to fight off the mob that tried to break into the shop. While outside the square, a mob tried to storm a house, where several gay rights activists had sought refuge.

Few bystanders said or did anything to help the LGBT activists for fear of being targets but a few did speak out.

“Look at yourselves! You call yourselves Christians?” objected one elderly woman in tears, speaking from a balcony. “Go ahead, kill everyone you are told to hate in the name of God and national values.”

The anti-gay protesters had been spurred on by a statement issued by the head of the Georgian Orthodox church, Patriarch Ilia II, who compared homosexuality to a disease and called on the city mayor to ban the march..

Government officials from both the ruling Georgian Dream and President Mikheil Saakashvili’s minority National Movement condemned the violence and blamed each other’s policies for it.

Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili had promised protection for the anti-homophobia march,

“There are people who can’t accept this, but we will do everything to protect the rights of any minority. That is what is going to happen in this case,” he said.

Afterwards, he said that the perpetrators of violence would be dealt with, and defended the action taken by the police. He said more than 2,000 police had been deployed to prevent trouble, but they were “overwhelmed” by several thousand anti-gay demonstrators.

Aleko Tskitishvili, director of the Human Rights Centre in Tbilisi, told reporters that “All those who are to blame for this tragedy must be identified and punished. Neither the priest’s cassock, nor the king’s crown nor the presidential chair should guarantee impunity.”

At least 17 people including journalist ere injured.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on October 11, between 15 and 20 black-clad men wearing surgical masks ran into the 7 FreeDays Club, which was hosting a party organized by gay activists in celebration of National Coming Out Day.  The attack took place several days after the People’s Council, a nationalist organization, said publicly that homosexuality is “a grave sin” and that it would try to close down gay clubs.

About 70 people were at the party when the attackers arrived and that the attackers had at least two guns, which may have been stun guns, and mace. They rushed into the premises screaming, “You wanted a pogrom? You wanted a fight? You got it!” and proceeded to destroy the club. They held the bartender at gunpoint, forced her face down on the floor, and started smashing the bar, breaking bottles and glasses over her head. They also smashed plates and glasses, overturned tables, and threw chairs and other objects directly at the guests.

“Russia’s leadership has stood by as regions have adopted blatantly homophobic laws,” said Hugh Williamson, Europe and Central Asia director at Human Rights Watch. “These laws cannot but encourage attacks like the one last night.”

An ambulance worker at the scene told a correspondent for the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta that four people had head injuries and that two of them had to be hospitalized. Several others had bruises and other minor injuries.

NOM’s Ruth Institute To Hold 4 Day Anti-Gay Training Seminar For Youth

The Ruth Institute, NOM’s (re)education arm is holding its annual weekend-long youth anti-gay hate seminar called “It Takes a Family To Raise A Village” for students (Emerging Leaders) from ages 16 to 30.

The (ITAF) conference,  is geared towards introducing students to prominent anti-gay activists in order to prepare them to defend “natural marriage.” (NOT “traditional marriage” but “natural marriage” ) so they will be prepared to fight at home and in their schools..

The 4 day “training seminar” is hosted  at the Skyline Wesleyan Church, an evangelical Christian megachurch located in La Mesa, California and headed by notorious right-wing pastor (and Glenn Beck buddy) Jim Garlow  and will take place from July 26th – July 29th and boasts a “Student Conference Faculty” that reads like a Who’s Who of Anti-Gay Mein Kampf.

William Duncan is the director of the Marriage Law Foundation a Mormon backed foundation and   previously co-chaired Utahns for a Better Tomorrow (UBT), a committee that supported the 2004 Utah amendment against same-sex marriage. Substantial donations were funneled to UBT through a shadowy nonprofit named Marriage Education Initiatives that was formed just two weeks before the election.

“Dr.” Robert Gagnonan Associate Professor of the New Testament with a history of linking homosexuality to pedophilia, promoting “ex-gay” therapy, and condemning homosexuality as unhealthy and dysfunctional.

“Homosexual relationships are far worse than polyamory, worse even than adultery (isn’t it unfair not to allow health benefits and inheritance laws to extend to one’s mistress?), and comparable to, or more likely worse than, the worst forms of adult-incest (e.g., a man and his mother). “

Thomas Roberts, which the Ruth Institute touts as the “founder of the popular American Papist blog” but leaves out that Roberts is also NOM’s blogger, Cultural Director, and “NextGen Project” head

Douglas Allen, Ph.D,  A Canadian economist, and part-time professor at a third-rate Canadian University who claimed that gay and lesbian relationships are generally more unstable, unhealthy, and promiscuous than heterosexual relationships.

Paul Diamond, A UK barrister and vocal proponent of “ex-gay” therapy who has ties to an anti-gay hate group, and has lobbied against efforts to protect LGBT people from discrimination.

And of course the Queen of anti-gay propaganda at the Ruth Institute Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse. (Watch her video below and cringe)

Four sun filled fun days of anti-gay lies, bigotry and hate training for the young.

This is just how low and despicable the National Organization for Marriage and the Ruth Institute really is.

“Traditional morals” embraces the tactics of madmen, fascists and murderers.  Indoctrinating and brainwashing innocent youth.

LGBT VIctory In Russia As St. Petersburg Judge Rules Anti-Propaganda Law Is Unlawful

LGBT russian citizens scored a victory for their human rights as a judge in St Petersburg has ruled that the recent “anti-propaganda law” that allows St Petersburg officials to ban LGBT gatherings and events is unlawful.

Coming Out St Petersburg has reported that the Smolninsky district court had handed down a decision yesterday saying the authorities lacked the competence to determine whether the events would amount to propaganda before they took place.

It also denied the officials’ standing to cancel events, saying they only had authority to suggest alternative times and places for rallies.

The law which prohibits the passing of  “propaganda (information, etc) of sodomy (homosexuality), lesbianism, bisexualism, transgenderism, and pedophilia to minors’.  Was passed by the St Petersburg legislature earlier this year and purposely  lumped the LGBT Community into one law with pedophilia to demonize LGBT community even more and to severely limit its human rights in Russia

Although a reason to celebrate, this ruling does not guarantee future rallies would not be banned. But it is a start.

Video – Russian Orthodox Christians Clash With Moscow Gay Rights Protestors, 40 Arrested

In two separate incidents on Sunday over 40 Russian LGBT activists have been arrested protesting for LGBT rights in the extremely homophobic country.

Moscow police broke up one protest where gay activists gathered outside the Moscow city council  building, where  scuffles occurred with Orthodox Christian opponents who tried to disrupt the demonstration,  decrying homosexuality as a sin.   Later in the day another group tried to stage a second protest at  city hall, but once again  police moved in and detained participants,  including prominent gay rights  activist Nikolai Alexeyev.

The Orthodox Christians with whom the LGBT activist were harassed by this morning are described by WashPo:

Among the opponents of gay rights was Dmitry Tsarionov, who spoke to  the  crowd in front of a sign that said “Moscow is not Sodom.”

“I  will not allow perverts to bring the wrath of God onto our city,” he   said. “I want our children to live in a country where a sin that so  awfully  distorts human nature is not preached in schools.”

Over 40 people in total were arrested including prominent gay rights activist Nikolai Alexeyev  was the first man arrested in St. Petersburg under that city’s new law prohibiting the “promotion” of homosexuality.

GOP – Tea Party Senator Rand Paul Attacks Obama With Offensive Gay Joke – Video

Kentucky’s own Tea Party Congressional member Sen. Rand Paul was his skeevy old self on Friday when after he was done attacking a women’s right to an abortion he then attacked Barack Obama’s support on son same-sex marriage by saying he didn’t think the president’s views “could get any gayer.”

Paul who was appearing at an event held by Iowa’s Faith and Freedom Coalition stated in his speech:

“The president, you know, recently weighed in on marriage. And, you know, he said his views were evolving on marriage. Call me cynical, but I wasn’t sure that his views on marriage could get any gayer.” ………

“We understand sin and if we believe it’s a sin, we still are (sinners) and people sin. We’re not out there preaching some sort of hateful dogma against people.  But that doesn’t mean that we have to go ahead and give up our traditions.”

“Six thousand years of tradition” combined with “anthropological” evidence shows “there’s stability in the family unit,”

Six thousand years?  REALLY?

Perhaps Paul should pick up a history book for change and stop reading NOM’s talking points.

Nero married two men, Sporus in 54 CE, and Doryphorus in 68 CE. and same sex weddings took place in increasing numbers over a period of time, but were outlawed in 342 CE

Paul is as much or more of a nut-bag as his insane father.  It’s a national embarrassment that tese two freakish crazy assed mothers like these two are able to run for or hold any public office.

Its interesting how Father and Son who called themselves “Libertarian”until they took GOP and Tea Party money would  give a flying flip if two gay people wanted to get married?   Doesn’t that fall under the category of, “It’s none of the government’s business”?

The GAP Rents Out San Francisco Headquarters To Host Fundraiser For Anti-Gay GOP Paul Ryan

The GAP will be renting out their “retail view room” on May 24 at Gap headquarters on Folsom Street in San Francisco so a fundraiser can be held for the “ blue eyed anti-gay GOP fascist” and potential Mitt Romney running mate Paul Ryan.  (Who’ll you probably be able to find later that evening at Blow Buddies)

Prosperity Action PAC, Ryan’s little Right Wing Welfare Piggy Bank, is hosting the event states that Gap Inc. is  just renting out the room and isn’t involved in sponsoring the event. “Not at all, no. I mean, we’re paying for the space like anyone else,” said Kristin Hueter, who is organizing the fundraiser.

The GAP is “just renting the space and not sponsoring the event”?

Pure and utter bullshit . 

By taking the PAC’s money, GAP is consenting to the event and the content contained therein. If GAP really wanted to remain impartial it would have told Congressman Ryan to keep walking.  Also the Fischers, the family that owns the company family that owns the GAP is a major player in Republican politics. They don’t just rent out the headquarters showroom to anyone, and I am willing to bet they will be attending or at the very least personally donating.

And Paul Ryan’s voting record?

Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006)

Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent. (Dec 2005)

Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004)

Voted YES on banning gay adoptions in DC. (Jul 1999)

Rated 13% by the ACLU, indicating an anti-civil rights voting record. (Dec 2002)

Rated 0% by the HRC, indicating an anti-gay-rights stance. (Dec 2006)

Rated 36% by NAACP, indicating a mixed record on affirmative-action. (Dec 2006)

But then again what can you expect from The GAP? This is a  company that has no qualms about exploiting third world labor to get rich and exploit export processing zones only then to mark up their product 500% from what it actually costs them to make.

The GAP doesn’t have any morals to begin with.

And from now on, they’ll have none of my hard earned gay dollars either.
