Actress Marcia Gay Harden told People magazine that her LGBTQ+ children teach her something new every day.

Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden shared some personal information during the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous: A Digital Fundraiser” telethon over the weekend where she revealed all her children are “queer”.

Harden told co-host Adam Shankman, according to People magazine. “What drives me is — my children are all queer.

“My eldest child is non-binary. My son is gay. My youngest is fluid,” she continued. “And you know, they are my kids, and they teach me every day.”

The telethon was in Los Angeles was held in response to state lawmakers’ recent attempts to ban drag shows and performances, which they insist are unsafe for minors.

“This is so fear-based, and it’s spreading that kind of fear and hatred among other people,” Harden said of the controversial legislation. “I believe this country will fight that.”

Harden encouraged her followers to contribute to the fundraiser in support of the LGBTQIA+.

“Our nation, our neighbors, our children, artists, our singers, our dancers, our better leaders, ceo’s [sic], writers, spiritual leaders, basically our humanity,. Gay is here to stay. Drag is here to stay. Donate what you can, and join us in spreading the love.”

Directors of ‘Chicago’ Under Fire After B'way Veteran Kills Himself After Brutal Bullying

Directors of ‘Chicago’ Under Fire After B’way Veteran Kills Himself After Brutal Bullying

The directors of the musical “Chicago” on Broadway Walter Bobbie and Leslie Stifelman, are under investigation following the suicide of veteran actor Jeff Loeffelholz, on June 29th following a brutal rehearsal stating in notes that Bobbie and Stifelman had bullied and humiliated him in front of the rest of the cast in order to compel him to leave the show and avoid the Producers/NAMCO’s contractual obligation to ‘buy out’ his contract.

Loeffelholz, was a longtime standby for the role of Mary Sunshine,

Fellow Broadway actors and friends have launched a “Justice for Jeffrey” campaign.

According to the campaign:

According to Loeffelholz’s own handwritten notes after the rehearsal, he went upstairs where he greeted the dance captain with a hug and the usual pleasantries and when asked how he was, he replied he was great but he was “ready to rehearse.”

At that point Hyslop said he received a text from Bobbie saying he hadn’t slept all night and was running late. By now it was 1:15 and much of the cast had started to arrive. Bobbie finally arrived at 1:20 and after small talk with Stifelman and Hyslop he said to Loeffelholz, “I want to hear you sing,” adding that Loeffelholz was “never on” and he wanted to know why. Loeffelholz hadn’t performed the role since the last week of February.

Loeffelholz sang Mary Sunshine’s signature song, “A Little Bit of Good.” Silence from Bobbie until he said, “Again.” Loeffelholz sang it again. Bobbie then told Loeffelholz he should quit “overperforming it and being draggy” (i.e., like a drag queen), because “it is not a drag role. You need to be believable,” according to Loeffelholz’s notes.

Loeffelholz sang it again at which time Bobbie told him he couldn’t hear his lower register and he asked Loeffelholz for “more volume! I don’t believe what you’re telling me!”

Bobbie then said he was very disappointed and upset and stormed into the theater’s lobby at which point Stifelman took over the rehearsal instructing Loeffelholz to start in the middle of the song, adding “You always do it wrong.”

Loeffelholz sang it again. Bobbie entered the theater again and Stifelman repeated to him that Loeffelholz always does this part of the song incorrectly and could they do it again, according to Loeffelholz’s notes.

Loeffelholz sang it again after which Stifelman told him he was singing the wrong notes and that it was impossible for her to follow him when he performs the role.

Loeffelholz sang “A Little Bit of Good” for the sixth time. Stifelman alleged that Loeffelholz was “oversinging it and talking too much,” according to Loeffelholz’s own handwritten notes. Stifelman had Loeffelholz sing the middle part and told him he was singing the wrong lyrics. Loeffelholz’s notes simply state, “I was not.”

Stifelman then asked Bobbie if he wanted Loeffelholz to sing it again. Bobbie said no, adding, “We’ve wasted enough time.” Bobbie then said to bring in the rest of the cast and Loeffelholz approached him. “I walked up to Walter and he just stared at me,” his notes read. “I stared back and wanted him to say something.”

“I appreciate your loyalty,” Bobbie finally said to Loeffelholz, according to his notes. “But I am an actor too, and you have to respect the production.

Full post here.

Producers Fran and Barry Weissler held an emergency cast meeting on Friday night, according to the New York Post, to address the outrage following Loeffelholz’s suicide.

The Weisslers have hired attorney Judd Burstein, to investigate the alleged bullying incident.

“My obligation here is to find the truth about what happened without regard to the consequences which flow from my finding.” said Burstein.

Liza Minnelli Has Judy Garlands Remains Moved – “Toto, I don’t think we’re in New York anymore.”

Via CinemaBlend

The body of legendary actress Judy Garland has been moved from her resting place in New York across the country to a cemetery in Los Angeles nearly 50 years after he death. That’s right; Judy Garland is coming back to Hollywood, but this time she’ll be resting instead of constantly working.

Apparently, it was Judy Garland’s famous daughter, Liza Minnelli, that requested the move after all this time. TMZ reported that a white cargo van picked up and transported Garland’s remains from where she had been buried since 1969, Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York, last Thursday, and placed them in in the hold of the John F. Kennedy airport for a flight to Los Angeles scheduled for this Tuesday. Why is Minnelli going through all this trouble to move her mom’s remains nearly 50 years after her death? Well, according to PEOPLE magazine, it was her way of keeping the family together. The Ferncliff plot had apparently run out of enough room for Garland’s children and grandchildren to be buried alongside, so Minnelli had it arranged that she be transferred to a more spacious plot in Hollywood.

Garland will be laid to rest again at the famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery which is the home of numerous other Hollywood actors and actresses including Garland’s once co-stars Mickey Rooney and Terry, the dog who played Toto in The Wizard of Oz.

"Queer As Folk" Creator Russell T Davies To Bring New Gay Drama To Showtime

Russell T. Davies who created the original (and MUCH superior to his USA version) BBC drama “Queer As Folk’ is back at Showtime cable network with a new gay drama series in development there titled Cucumber.

Davies who brought to Showtime the a much more stereotypical and almost self deprecating American version of QAF  (based on Davies’ UK version), ran for 5 seasons on Showtime, but eventually became too unrealistic for even for gay American audiences.

Cucumber, the new series Davies has in development with Showtime.is to bring us more intimate views of the lives of gay men. While details are few and far between on the series itself and it is still in the early stages of development.

Lets hope that after 10 years and Torchwood that Davies this time brings us at least a few positive gay role-model characters.  But with a title like Cucumber, I’m not exactly holding my breath.

David Yost The Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Was Verbally Abused, Tried To "Pray The Gay" Away, and Suffered A Nervous Breakdown. But Now He’s Happy Gay and Out. (Video)

David Yost, who played the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger), has come out of the closet after a long and rocky road.

David says he quit the show over constantly being harassed over his sexuality. “Creators, producers, writers, directors” all threw the Faggot word around at him. Yost, “walked off set one day in the middle of lunch,” a move he had been thinking about for about a week. “Continuing to work in an environment like that is really difficult. I myself was struggling with who I was, or what I was, and to be made fun of on some level, or to be stereotyped, or put into a category … I was continually being told I’m not worthy of where I am because I’m quote-unquote a gay person and I’m not supposed to be an actor and can’t be a superhero.”

David then spent two years trying to “pray the gay away,” had a nervous break down, checked himself into a mental hospital for five weeks, and then moved to Mexico for a year. “It frustrated me that I hated myself on such a level that I couldn’t accept myself.”

I’m glad to see that David is happy and comfortable with himself now.  Welcome brother.

You just can’t even compare the coming out process of what David went through to accept his sexuality and deal with the homophobia with Ken Mehlman, who is living in luxury based in part of the homophobic environment that he helped foster that made life so hard for David.

You know where my sympathies lie, and it’s certainly not with Mehlman.

No Gay Couples Make It To The Finals Of NBC’s Today’ Wedding Contest"

Last month after much pressure from GLAAD, the LGBT Community and its straight friends NBC’s today show buckled down and for the first time allowed gay and lesbian couples to subit entries and  participate in its annual wedding contest. Today the show revealed the four couples who will compete in the contest — and there are no same-sex couples in the group.

But really, did anyone seriously expect NBC to select a gay couple for “Today’s” annual wedding contest?

I’m sure they felt they had done enough just by allowing same-sex couples to apply for the contest.

NBC you had a chance to show some vision, but like most you lacked  the courage

Joe Gage’s Late 1970’s Porn Classic Turned Into A Late Night Comedy Stage Show! – LA TOOL & DIE: LIVE! – A Pre Condom Comedy

The Celebration Theatre Company of Santa Monica, CA is going where many men have gone before but in a new way.  By prsenting a LIVE version and putting a comedic spin  spin ont he  70’s gay porn film “LA Tool & Die” based on the Joe Gage film of the same name, LA TOOL & DIE: LIVE! is being described as the “Airplane” of gay porn. In the way “Airplane” poked fun at “disaster movies” of the era, Writer and Director Sean Abley cheekily does the same with gay porn of the 70’s. This show contains adult language and content, male frontal nudity and comedy in equal amounts. (I would hope so!)

Joe Gage made a name for himself bringing tales of lusty masculine men having sex and “doing other masculine things with their shirts off” in the ‘70’s. “Kansas City Trucking Company” was the first in the trilogy that LA TOOL & DIE completes.

For those of you not familar with the, eeehm “plot”,

L.A. Tool & Die follows Hank, the masculine working man, and Wiley, the shy (but masculine) cowboy as they make their way across the Heartland to Los Angeles. Along the way they meet many hot, handsome and, dare we say it? Masculine men, whose clothes seem to fly off at the drop of a hat. This ain’t your father’s late night comedy show

If you are in The Santa Monica Area and want to catch LA TOOL & DIE: LIVE! (And write B2S.com a review maybe?)  The showdates are August 13-14, 20-21, 27-28, September 3-4, 10-11 at 10:30pm. Ticket prices are $15 in advance, $20.00 at the door, for all performances.  –  Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood. For Tickets, please call 323-957-1884.

I REALLY wish I could see this but unfortunately I am about 1200 miles away.   Arrrrgh!!

Hmmmmm, maybe I’ll mount my own production od “HEATSTROKE” – The Musical!  (The Bunkhose Finale’ Musical Number would be a REAL BLAST!)
