Disney To Hold Its First “Official” LGBT PRIDE Nites

Disneyland announced Thursday that it will hold its first officially sanctioned Pride Nites. For many years groups have held unofficial “Gay Day’s” at Disney but this is the first time the entertainment giant has “officially” sanctioned LGBT Pride events.

The Anaheim Pride events are scheduled for 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on June 13 and 15 as part of a series of “Disneyland After Dark” parties which will include dance parties, a cavalcade (sort of like a parade but not exactly), photo opportunities, special food and more. Costumes can be worn, with stipulations.

“Disneyland Resort drew on inspiration from events like Disneyland Paris Pride for the first-ever Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite event in honor of Pride Month in June,” Disneyland officials said in a statement. This will be one of the specially ticketed events this year that patrons can purchase in advance and attend.

Tickets cost $139 and will go on sale Thursday, April 20.

It would make more of a statement at DisneyWorld in Orlando. #JustSaying

The LA Times is reporting that the California Department of Public Health has confirmed nine cases of measles and is investigating three others all  from people who visited Disneyland the Anaheim, CA theme park in the last month. Of the seven California cases, six hadn’t been vaccinated

The highly infectious disease,  is transmitted through the air, can lead to pneumonia, encephalitis, and sometimes death in children. In 2000, the US Centers for Disease Control declared it eliminated in the United States, thanks in large part to an effective vaccine. But because of anti-vaccination hysteriamany parents have opted out of vaccinating their kids, leaving them vaccinated, vulnerable, and spreaders of the disease.

Measles rates have risen dramatically over the past few year, the CDC reported record numbers in 2014, due in large part to gaps in vaccinations.

Mickey Mouse Is A Republican – 90 Percent of Disney’s Political Donations Go To The GOP

According to an investigation by the Orlando Sentinel 90 cents of every dollar that the Walt Disney Co. has spent in political donations in Florida has gone to Republican candidates or conservative interest groups to the tune of 2.5 million dollars.

According to Bryan Malenius, a spokesperson for the company, said the donations are part of an effort by Walt Disney Co. to prevent the legalization of gambling and Vegas-like casinos, not to mention more mobile casino reviews and pro-gambling advocates in the state. “Our contribution levels in 2012 reflect increased efforts to support candidates who oppose the expansion of casino gambling in Florida.”

But also Disney reportedly donated $30,000 to a political action committee backing anti-gay GOP state Rep. Rachel Burgin.

While Disney as a company has offered health benefits to its employees’ same-sex partners since 1995, and while it has never officially supported gay marriage, it allows same-sex ceremonies to be performed at its theme parks and resorts is this another TARGET type faux pas’ with businesses donating to the GOP for their own good without taking into consideration the whole of society?

Or is it just the being of a Disney dark secret about to be exposed?.
