Scotland's Only Chick-fil-A Shut Down After Boycott Over Anti-LGBT Funding

Chick-fil-A is Still Giving Money to Anti-LGBT Organizations

Five years ago Chick-fil-A chairman and CEO Dan Cathy vowed to stay out of the LGBT debate and focus on chicken issuing a statement that the company will “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender.”

Well it seems you can’t teach an old chicken new tricks.

While the company’s non-profit arms scaled back support for some of the groups that actively push an anti-gay agenda, the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s most recent IRS filings show it gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to anti-LGBT organizations in 2015.

Chick-fil-A Foundation gave more than $1 million in 2015 (nearly one-sixth of its total grants) to the the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The religious organization, which seeks to utilize athletes and coaches to spread Christian teachings, imparts a strongly anti-LGBT message. Staff and volunteers with the organization have been required to adhere to a strict “sexual purity” policy, prohibiting any “homosexual acts,” even for married couples. The group takes the view that, “The Bible is clear in teaching on sexual sin including sex outside of marriage and homosexual acts. Neither heterosexual sex outside of marriage nor any homosexual act constitute an alternative lifestyle acceptable to God.”

The foundation also gave more than $200,000 to the Paul Anderson Youth Home, a Georgia-based “transformative organization” that operates a “Christian residential home for troubled youth.” Focusing on boys, their teachings include the idea that the “sexual, physical, and mental abuse of children, mostly in the alleged ‘safety’ of their own homes has produced all kinds of evil throughout the culture to include the explosion of homosexuality in the last century.” The myth that people are LGBTQ due to abuse is a claim frequently made by anti-LGBTQ organizations to promote harmful “ex-gay” therapy.

Additionally, the Chick-fil-A Foundation gave at least $130,000 to the Salvation Army. The religious organization has a long history of anti-LGBT rhetoric including;  housing discriminationopposition to same-sex marriage equality, and supporting exemptions from non-discrimination ordinances.

Anti-Gay Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy Given EQUALITY Award In Georgia – ULGA Defends It’s Choice

Today from the “I Can’t Make This Shit Up “ department……..

Anti-gay Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy whose company has donated thousands upon thousands of dollars to anti-gay LGBT hate groups is receiving an EQUALITY award from the Urban League of Greater Atlanta at its prestigious Equal Opportunity Day Dinner in November.

Fenuxe reports:

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Champions of Justice and Equality.”

Honorees of the prestigious recognition this year include Congressman John Lewis, who is truly a shining beacon of equality, civil rights, and justice for all and Chick-fil-A CEO Dan T. Cathy. You may remember Cathy and the statements he made against gay marriage that sparked headlines throughout the world and a boycott of the chicken restaurant.

Yes, Dan Cathy has since made amends with gay rights activist groups and has stopped donating to organizations that are overtly anti-gay, but his position on gay marriage remains the same. And the corporation is seemingly still donating large sums to organizations like the Marriage & Family Foundation and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which both promote marriage in the ‘biblical sense’ and are strongly and openly opposed to same-sex marriage.

On the June day that the US Supreme Court overturned DOMA, Cathy tweeted and almost immediately deleted this message: “Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies.”

The ULGA  is defending giving Cathy the award on its Facebook page,  The backlash and comments are overwhelmingly negative.

Statement Regarding ULGA Presentation of the Community Empowerment Award to Dan Cathy, President/CEO Chick fil A Foundation at 52nd EOD Dinner

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta has received questions and concerns about why Dan Cathy is among the awardees at this year’s annual Equal Opportunity Day Dinner on Nov. 16. Cathy, President/CEO of the Chick fil A Foundation is receiving this year’s Community Empowerment Award. The Community Empowerment Award is presented to an organization that has made significant contributions to advance community empowerment. The Urban League of Greater Atlanta is awarding the Chick-fil-A Foundation and Cathy for the Foundation’s significant financial contributions that support programs that empower communities – including funding for a signature program that teaches inner city youth financial literacy, a local community food bank.

We based the award on the following initiatives of the Foundation:

1) The Chick-fil-A Foundation recently made a significant investment in the Foundation’s first major capital project, Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center. It is designed to build financial literacy for Atlanta’s youth.

· The need for financial literacy education is clear:
•High school dropouts are three times more likely to live in poverty.
•One-third of U.S. adults do not pay all their bills on time.
•Nearly 40 percent of adults do not have any non-retirement savings.

2) The Chick-fil-A Foundation invests in the Atlanta Community Food Bank
Knowing children need nutrition to excel in school, the Foundation partners with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which provides food for food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. The Chick-fil-A Foundation has sponsored food drives, supplied volunteers and given financial donations.

3) The Chick-fil-A Foundation supports Youth & Education Programs
The programs support the Foundation’s youth and education projects: Mentoring high school students; bringing camps to financially disadvantaged neighborhoods; providing weekend meals for students in need; and sponsoring college scholarships.

4) The Chick-fil-A Foundation supports Covenant House
The Chick-fil-A Foundation provides financial support of Covenant House’s services to homeless, abandoned, trafficked and exploited youth. Covenant House offers educational programs that allow our youth to follow dreams.

5) The Chick-fil-A Foundation supports Community Development Programs.

6) The Chick-fil-A Foundation supports Raising Expectations
Through providing transportation and financial donations, the Foundation supportsRaising Expectations in their work to benefit the lives of Atlanta youth with their extensive services designed to develop participants’ academic, social and civic abilities.

7) The Chick-fil-A Foundation supports Wellspring Living
The Chick-fil-A Foundation has donated funds to help Wellspring Living expand their facilities to meet the growing need for their programs. The organization helps women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation overcome their broken pasts and move toward hopeful futures.

Please be assured that the Urban League of Greater Atlanta supports and works for equal rights for all people, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or physical ability. This includes the recent Employment Non-Discrimination Act that was passed out of the US Senate this week.

I wonder if Dan Cathy had said about black people what he’s said about gay people, and his company donated to StormFront and other white supremacists groups if the Urban League of Atlanta would still give him this award?

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy States That Company Never Agreed to Stop Making Anti-Gay Donations: ‘We Made No Such Concessions’

Mike Huckabee is reporting on his website that he has “personally” talked to Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and that contrary to reports announced this week by Chicago LGBT rights group The Civil Rights Agenda and Chicago alderman Joe Moreno, Chick-fil-A has NOT agreed to end its anti-gay donations.

Huckabee writes on his website:

I talked earlier today personally with Dan Cathy, CEO of Chick Fil-A about the  new reports that Chick Fil-A had capitulated to demands of the supporters of  same sex marriage. This is not true. The company continues to focus on the fair  treatment of all of its customers and employees, but to end confusion gave me  this statement:

“There continues to be erroneous implications in the  media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain  permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made  no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been.”

Short statement.  We still hate the homos.

UPDATE: Chick-Fil-A Agrees To Stop Donating Money To Hate Groups

After months of being in a media firestorm because of their bigoted, anti-gay stance, Chick-Fil-A has finally reached an agreement and conceded to make amends for their behavior. Acccording to ChicagoPhoenix.com, the company has agreed to stop donating money to anti-gay hate groups. The company has donated millions of dollars to anti-gay hate groups in the past including The Family Research Council.

WinShape, the non-profit organization funded by Chick-Fil-A, released this statement to their shareholders and employers:

The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas–treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender,” and that its “intent is not to engage in political or social debates.”

The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) worked with Alderman Proco “Joe” Moreno and Chick-Fil-A to facilitate the agreement. Moreno has also agreed to let Chick-Fil-A build one of their franchise restaurants in his ward. Could this also confirm the rumors several weeks ago when Dan Cathy was allegedly sitting down with school officials in Atlanta? Quite possibly.

Is it a step in the right direction? Of course it is, but as executive director of TCRA, Anthony Martinez points out, the company still does NOT have a non discriminatory act in place for their employers:

“We feel this is a strong step forward for Chick-fil-A and the LGBT community; although it is only a step, Until [Chick-fil-A] has an anti-discrimination policy in place, there is still the chance that LGBT employees can be singled out. I’m not planning on dining there until that policy is in place.”

Okay, so they’re stopping their donations, that’s great. But how about the company do something to rectify their past mistakes? Like donate the same amount or more to LGBT organizations that they have hurt? That would be an even better step in the right direction. Regardless, I’m still not eating their dry, tasteless chicken.

Story Developing…

. The Chicago Tribune reports:

Ald. Proco “Joe” Moreno, 1st, said the restaurant has agreed to include a statement of respect for all sexual orientations in an internal document and promised that its not-for-profit arm would not contribute money to groups that oppose gay marriage. Though Moreno said he scored a “big win,” the company made nearly identical pledges in a July 19 Facebook post that went up even before Moreno took issue with Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s opposition to gay marriage. The statement of respect also falls short of Moreno’s goal of adding language opposing discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people to the company’s employee handbook. Moreno said the statement will be included in a memo called “Chick-fil-A: Who We Are” to be distributed to all corporate employees and restaurant operators. The alderman said the memo will state the company’s commitment to “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender.” It also would state that it is the company’s “intent … not to engage in political or social debates.”

The Tribune notes that Chick-Fil-A has not responded to multiple requests for a response to Moreno’s claim about ending anti-gay donations, but did send them a copy of their Facebook post with “language similar to that which Moreno claims will be in their ‘Who We Are’ memo.”

IF this is true and Chick-fil-A DOES confirm it, expect a firestorm of reactions from anti-gay hate groups.

BREAKING: Is Chick-Fil-A Owner Dan Cathy Ready To Make Nice With LGBT Community?

In a surpising turn of events, bigoted owner of the dry tasteless chicken Chick-Fil-A Dan Cathy reportedly had a meeting with campus leaders to discuss diversity in the workplace. Keep in mind that the source of who gave the information is unidentified as they may or may not have clearance to do so yet.

The meeting allegedly took place yesterday very discreetly and sources are reporting that Cathy was looking for resolution to his asinine words earlier this year, possibly ready to make amends? Here’s what’s being said now about this covert meeting:

“welcomed campus leaders to a private luncheon in Atlanta on Thursday to discuss diversity, hospitality and the opportunity to find common ground.”

Also, here’s a reminder of Cathy’s now infamous statement about how his bigoted company has rich moral integrity:

“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that…we know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

Sources are reporting differnt accounts of why Cathy met with campus leaders, if in fact the meeting took place at all. The Advocate is reporting that Cathy meet discuss  LGBT issues so honestly it could have been about anything.

I wonder if Cathy discussed the money that he’s donated to hate groups and will he continue to do so? Has he seen the light and the error of his way, ready to make amends or is this story around just to cluck with us? i’m very skeptical so I say take it all with a HUGE grain of salt until more concrete information comes to the surface. Story developing…

Will NOM Boycott Chick-Fil-A For Failing To Remain Nuetral in the “Marriage Culture Wars”?

Well, guilty as charged. We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that. We intend to stay the course. We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.” – Dan Cathy, CEO of Chick-Fil-A, admitting that his company has donated to “family ministries.” that just happen to be anti-gay hate groups (Via Good As You)

The absolute BALLS of that man and his company.  But you do got to hand it to the bigot, at least he’s FINALLY being honest.

But the question is will the  National Organization for Marriage criticize Chick-Fil-A for failing to remain neutral in the “marriage culture war”

Lets go out on a limb here and predict…. NO.

Chick-fil-A Donates 2 Million Dollars To Anti-Gay Hate Groups In 2010

The WinShape Foundation, Chick-fil-A’s charitable arm created by Chick-fil-A founder and chairman S. Truett Cathy (who constantly denies supporting anti-gay hate groups.)  donated over $1.9 million in 2010 to anti-gay causes, more than any other year for which public records are available fopr the company.

WinShape Foundation donations include monies to The Family Research Council a designated  anti-gay hate group by the Southern Law Poverty Center, Exodus International a major promoter of “ex-gay” therapy, and the The National Christian Foundation (NCF) is a grant-making foundation that has made “hundreds of grants” to anti-gay groups like Focus on the Family.

Chick-fil-A president and COO Dan Cathy has in the past released a statement denying that Chick-fil-A’s history of donations to anti-gay groups proved the company was “anti-gay.” Cathy argued that Chick-fil-A has “no agenda against anyone,” and that the company would not “champion any political agendas” relating to marriages or families but would nonetheless “continue to offer resources to strengthen marriages and families.”

It’s time to CHOKE the Chick-fil-A once again.

Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy Banned From Speaking At St. Louis Chamber of Commerce Event Over Anti-Gay Beliefs

Anti-Gay Christomaniac Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A’s President has been dis-invited from a speaking engagementt scheduled for next week by FOCUS St. Louis, a nonprofit organization, and the Clayton, St. Louis Chamber of Commerce after being informed of his company’s anti-gay beliefs.

“It has come to our attention that our co-sponsorship of a presentation by Dan Cathy, the COO of Chick-fil-A, would be seen by some in the St. Louis community as inconsistent with our deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, and that his appearance could become a forum for issues other than the business leadership issues which Mr. Cathy intended to address. As a result, we believe that the original purpose of this forum cannot be fulfilled and that it is in the best interests of all concerned that we cancel this event.”

Cathy’s father the devout Christian and  founder of the company, Truett Cathy, celebrated his 90th birthday on Thursday. Performers for the party included Jeff Foxworthy who has the gayest mustache in show business and  is obviously more bigoted than a 5th Grader.

I wonder if Foxworthy modified his normal comedy routine from “You might be a redneck if…” to “You might be an anti-gay bigot if………. you’re here.”

Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy: Just Because We Feed Hate Groups We Still Want Your Dirty Sodomite Money

Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy, who’s family by the way are Dominionists, who believe that God’s law/Christan law should replace secular US law, has come out of the hen house and has posted a video response to the recent publicity surrounding his company’s years-long history of supporting anti-gay groups (Even though I’ve been screaming about it since August, thank you very much)

According to Cathy ““Recent events have called into question the principles of Chick-Fil-A,” says Cathy, before he attempts to assure you that giving food to a group for free is “not an endorsement of the mission, political stance, or motives of this or any other organization. Any suggestion otherwise is just inaccurate.” and  “marriage has always been a priority for Chick-Fil-A,”

Cathy in the video likens giving food to anti-gay hate group to the same as giving free food to any community function.  But try as I might  I simply cannot find a single gay pride event or gay function that this company has “provided food” for. I wonder why that is? Because the company is anti-gay.  Pure and simple and promotes gay hate.

So Leslie Jordan, er I mean Dan Cathy I not only suggest this.  I state it.  As a fact.  And your bullshit video doesn’t change the fact that you and Chick-Fil-A has been BUSTED and BUSTED BIG TIME.

I also suggest that you shove your fu**** sodium laden chicken up your ass ** .
