President Donald Trump has announced his first recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and they include the wife of a major Republican Party donor, the longest-serving Republican senator in U.S. history, Elvis Presley and Babe Ruth. Trump will also posthumously recognize the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
Medals are going to Miriam Adelson, a doctor and wife of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, a Republican donor; Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, who is retiring after more than 41 years in the U.S. Senate; former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach and Alan Page, who began a legal career after leaving the NFL.
Potential recipients of next years award include: Vladie Putin, A. Hitler, Darth Vader, Benedict Arnold, Satan, and Space Ghost.
Yesterday morning three members of Westboro Baptist Church picketed outside of the funeral of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC on Saturday not because Scalia was gay of course but because he was Catholic.
So according to the WBC, Scalia is now in hell with billions of other Catholics, gays, Muslims. Jews, Pagans, and so on.
Not that Scalia would go to heaven anyway but by Westboro’s standards heaven must be pretty empty place.
Speaking yesterday at the Federalist Society in Bozeman, Montana – Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia called gays an “invented minority” when he went off on another one of his long winded ramblings and referenced recent rulings on same-sex marriage, the AP reports:
“It’s not up to the courts to invent new minorities that get special protections,” Scalia told a packed hotel ballroom in southwestern Montana.The Supreme Court earlier this year cleared the way for same-sex marriages to resume in California and struck down part of a federal law that prevents legally married gay couples from receiving benefits. Scalia voted against the majority of justices.Changes to the Constitution were made to protect minorities and to give women the right to vote, but that’s not how the court operates today, he said. Rather, a majority of five judges decide issues that should be in the hands of Congress or made through a change to the Constitution.
Scalia, also added that the the court’s justices are no better suited to decide what rights ought to exist than is “Joe Sixpack.” “These aren’t questions for lawyers. These are the kind of questions that society debates and decides.
Scalia would do well to remember that 100 years ago “Joe Sixpack” would’ve classified Scalia as a WOP and discriminated against him in housing, jobs, etc. But, like Clarence Thomas and so many other conservatives, now that he’s got his, he wants to make sure no one else gets theirs.

I’d previously said he was a homophobe. And Fox and the rightwing said, ‘Oh just because he’s not for same-sex marriage? And I said, ‘No, let me be very clear. That’s not it. The question was, By what morality is expressing your love for someone in a physical way equivalent to killing that person? Barney Frank, and Bernie Sanders, are what all Congressmen should aspire to. They don’t mince words and they call a spade a spade. Or in this case, a bigot a bigot. I only wish other Democratic Congressmen would grow the balls to do so.
Monday night Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia appeared at Princeton Universityand was asked by a gay student, Duncan Hosie why he equates laws banning sodomy with those barring man-on-animal sex and murder.
MSN reports: Hosie said afterward that he believes Scalia’s writings tend to ‘dehumanize’ gays.
Some in the audience who had come to hear Scalia speak about his book applauded but more of those who attended the lecture clapped at Hosie’s question.
“It’s a form of argument that I thought you would have known, which is called the `reduction to the absurd,’” Scalia told freshman Duncan Hosie of San Francisco during the question-and-answer period. “If we cannot have moral feelings against homosexuality, can we have it against murder? Can we have it against other things?”
Scalia said he is not equating sodomy with murder but drawing a parallel between the bans on both. Then he deadpanned: “I’m surprised you aren’t persuaded.”
Scalia also took aim mostly at those who believe the Constitution as a ‘‘living document’’ that changes with the times.
‘‘It isn’t a living document,’’ Scalia said. ‘‘It’s dead, dead, dead, dead.’
He said that people who see the Constitution as changing often argue they are taking the more flexible approach. But their true goal is to set policy permanently, he said. ‘‘My Constitution is a very flexible one,’’ he said. ‘‘There’s nothing in there about abortion. It’s up to the citizens. … The same with the death penalty.’’
So first Scalia tells the gay student why he doesn’t deserve equal rights, then he patronizes him for having failed to grasp that he didn’t in the first place. And then he states that the Constitution is dead, but it’s flexible, but abortion rights are up to voters despite Roe v. Wade being decided by the court where he works.
Was he fucking high?
This man is a dinosaur, and it’s just to bad that he is not extinct yet.
Its crystal clear that Scalia is biased, and the other justices need to force him to recuse himself from all cases regarded gay issues – and all civil rights issues period.
