The National Organization for Marriage is claiming that we hateful vengeful homo’s have viciously vandalized iy’s offical “bus of hatred” that will be used to travel the country to spew it venious bile of bigoty and ignoramusity by poking a hole in one of it’s tires! GASP!
Attention liberals and activists of the homosexual agenda: Your hateful and militant tactics will not stop the Summer for Marriage Tour. That’s right. Today we have seen what is remarkably a ‘low’ for the activists of the homosexual agenda but don’t be fooled – it’s not a new low. They have resorted to these tactics during the Proposition 8 campaign in CA and they have conducted their first vandalism of the Summer for Marriage Tour. While I stepped away from the Marriage Tour RV in Atlantic City, NJ today to get a glimpse of the ocean and take a few pictures of the beach, someone, who clearly has their mind set on same-sex marriage punctured close to a two-inch-long hole into the rear, driver side wheel of the RV.
Right, it just HAD to be a “homosexual activist or a liberal” because after all we know there’s no crime in Atlantic City, N.J.
The deeply Orthodox Georgian society is in turmoil over the release of a book depicting homosexuality. The scandal has seen liberal groups and religious representatives literally come to blows. One side says it wants to protect society, the other wants to preserve freedom of speech. Rocketing sales is one of the consequences.
The new ad from The United Church of Christ, which has made headlines in the past (most notably for their ‘velvet rope bouncer’ and ‘ejector seat’ ads), highlights, among other things, marriage equality, gay families, and the Church’s openness to all.
Way to go UCC!
OMG….and I mean that!
Members of a suburban Oklahoma City Catholic church are swelling in anger over a seemingly extremely Jesus!
Critics of the crucifix take issue with what appears to be a large penis covering Jesus’ abdominal area. Seeton said the portion of the crucifix in question is meant to be Jesus’ abdomen “showing distension” — not a penis. Seeton said, “I’ve had people who have vocally said that that’s what they see there. I’ve had people who have been just as vocal who said that’s not what they’re seeing there.” Janet Jaime, a local iconography artist who designed the crucifix, had no comment. “I think it was painted according to the certain specific rules of iconography and church art,” Seeton said of the crucifix. The crucifix is about 10 feet tall. It has been hanging above the altar since Feb. 21.
But you know the tumescent Jesus – that is, with a big old hard-on – was a recurring image in medieval iconography. It signified his earthly power. Clement Greenberg wrote a definitive essay on it.
This gives a whole new meaning to Jesus loves you
We all know that Julian Bond Civil Rights Leader and Board Chairman of the NAACP has been a steadfast LGBT Rights supporter. But today NAACP President Benjamin Jealous, who has been mostly non-commital where the “organization” is concerned tried to lay the fault squarely at the LGBT Community’s feet when it comes to the fact that black activist have not been supporting the Gay Rights Movement.
In an article from ThinkBig::
I really just have one thing to say about this. No one from the african american community ever had to do outreach for me to stand up for thier rights. I have marched, I have protested, and I have signed petitions. And I did it because it was the RIGHT thing to do. And I did it gladly.
Jealous is also attuned to the civil rights struggles of another minority group—gay Americans—and aware of the public perception that black activists have been lukewarm in supporting their cause. Yet for his own family as well as the NAACP, he says, gay rights are not only important but “personal”—and if there’s a gap between the movements, it’s a product of insufficient outreach from the LGBT side.
It’s very easy for the NAACP to hide behind religion as an excuse. Mostly because its true. And mostly because they do nothing to discourage bigotry and hate of any form within thier organization. Because if anyone should know that its almost next to impossible to change someone’s religious beliefs to accept a minority it should be the NAACP. A meta-analysis of 55 independent studies carried out in the United States with more than 20,000 mostly Christian participants has found that members of religious congregations tend to harbor prejudiced views of other races and sexual orientations. It was that way in the 1960’s and 1970’s when African Americans fought for their rights. And it’s still like that today only this time its the black community hating through religion.
If Mr. Jealous is truly sincere and honest with his support perhaps it is time for the NAACP to make a CONCRETE commitment to and stand up with us for ALL LGBT rights, including gay marriage and educate it’s members because it’s the RIGHT thing to do, instead of splitting hairs as to not piss off religious NAACP members and place the blame at our feet for thier non-support.
You know its not really like I, or any of us should be surprised. After all it wasn’t until the 1960’s that the Mormon elders had a “revelation” that allowed them to change official church doctrine saying that black people were not really people. What is surprising though is that the Mormon Chruch whines constantly that they themselves are discriminated, looked down upon and hated and after reading statements like the above one knows why. The pompus arrogance alone sets ones teeth grinding and that on top of the fact that racism, sexism, and bigotry are all built into the very fabric of the Mormon church seals the deal.
“I believe that the greatest challenge faced by the church is the challenge to religious liberty that is growing worldwide. … A battle is looming over the effort to acquire civil social rights at the expense of civil religious rights. This battle, I believe, represents the acceleration of a disturbing slide downward in the law regarding the place of religion in the public square. … Perry seeks a court declaration that, as a matter of law, religious views may not be used to justify the denial of a social civil right. Stated differently, they essentially claim that the voters, from whom all authority in a democracy flows, may not consider religious views and values when deciding these alleged social and cultural civil rights. These are serious allegations and represent an arrow directly at the heart not only of traditional marriage but at the place of religion and religious views in the political dialogue of this country.” – LDS Wlder and Member of the Quorum of the Seventy -Lance Wickman – 2010 J. Reuben Clark Law Society Conference at the University of Utah
Same-sex marriage in no way infringes on anybody’s “religious freedoms”. Religious people are always free to worship as they choose. They are even free to hate whomever they want to the ends of the earth (just as the KKK, Neo-Nazis and other hate groups do). That will never change no matter how many laws there are to protect women, LGBT people, blacks, immigrants, etc. The laws aren’t in place to prevent hatred or change beliefs. They’re in place to prevent discrimination and harm.
The only thing that’s denied to them is the “right” they believe they have–to discriminate against others in the name of their religion. That is not a right they deserve nor is it a “religious freedom” guaranteed under the Constitution. Their freedoms stop where the rights of others begin. Or as my father used to say and bear this in mind Mr. Wickman if ever we should meet. “Your freedoms stop where my fist connects with your nose”
Actress Anne Hathaway has taken a stand.
The actress has realized that she doesn’t fit in her own religion anymore. Just because Catholicism doesn’t approve gays, the actress, who’s brother has discovered that he is gay, left the Catholic Church in support of him. So did her parents, Gerarld and Kate and her other brother, Thomas. This is their way to show support on Michael’s sexuality. “The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out. Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?”the 27 years old actress revealed for Britain’s GQ magazine.
Now if only others would be brave enough to thell the Catholic Church enough is enough.
