DADT Repeal Stalls In Cingress, Senate Press Conference Excludes Actual DADT Repeal Representative But DOES Include Joe Solmonese and The HRC!

The United States Senate today voted 56-43, NOT TO APPROVE a motion to invoke cloture and move to consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act, containing both the DREAM Act and the DADT repeal amendments.Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid voted “no” on the motion to invoke cloture, reportedly a procedural move so he can bring the bill back to the floor at some point for another vote. If Reid had voted “yes”, that would not be possible.

All Republicans voted “no.” (FUCK YOU ALL!)  And aside from Reid as noted above, the only two Democrats who voted “no” were Sen. Blache (Lame Duck) Lincoln and Sen. Mark Pryor, both of Arkansas.

The probability that a DADT Repeal will now bw passed over the next few years if the Republicans take the Seante in November are almost ZERO.

This is not unexpected, but still beyond fucking disgusting.  And as for the COMPLETELY FUCKING USELESS Democrats and our “fierce advocate” they have but a few days to seize the moral high ground here and issue an immediate executive order stopping all DADT dismissals but most probably the next kick to the balls will be Obama and the DOJ appealing the court ruling that found DADT unconstitutional.

Only in the US Senate can a vote of 56-43 be a loss. Sheer madness..

And speaking of Madness.  The Democrtaic Senate Press Conference will not have actual groups were involved in the repeal effort standing there but none other Joe Solmonese, President, Human Rights Campaign!

God, I need a drink.  And a VISA.

Collins To Vote NO On DADT Repeal – General James F. Amos, Obama’s Nomination Of Commandant To Marine Corps Testiy’s AGAINT Repealing DADT

General James F. Amos, who is President Obama’s nomination to become as commandant of the Marine Corps testified AGAINST repealing DADT in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee today. (So much for fierce advocacy there Barack.)

“President Barack Obama’s choice to lead the Marine Corps told the Senate Tuesday that Congress should not repeal the law barring gays from serving openly in the military, dealing a blow to gay rights advocates just hours before a crucial test vote…. Amos told the Senate Armed Services Committee he worried that a shake up in personnel policy would serve as a ‘distraction’ to Marines fighting in Afghanistan. ‘My primary concern with proposed repeal is the potential disruption to cohesion that may be caused by significant change during a period of extended combat operations,’ he said in a written statement provided to the panel for his confirmation hearing. During one exchange with Sen. Pete Sessions, R-Ala., Amos said he would implement any changes in the law on gay service made by Congress. He said the Marine Corps would rely on discipline and leadership to ensure order, but that he didn’t envision a gag order on troops who disagreed with revoking the ban. Some Republicans have suggested they fear troops who openly oppose gay service would be punished for speaking out. ‘I don’t see this as a racist issue,’ Amos said. ‘I see this as an anxious issue … because we don’t have the answers yet.'”

There should be no answers because there should have been no questions to start off with.. DADT is just wrong.

What utter bullshit this all is.

ONLY in America does someone have to fight for the right to protect theirr country.

UPDATE:   Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins says she’ll vote against a bill that would allow gays to serve openly in the military unless Democrats agree to extend debate so that her colleagues can weigh in on other issues.

Collins’ position is likely the last nail in the coffin for the Democratic proposal, which would have repealed the 17-year-old law known as “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

A moderate Republican who supports changing the law, Collins was seen as the crucial 60th vote needed to override GOP objections and advance it. The provision was attached to a broader defense bill that authorizes $726 in military spending.

Democrats plan to allow Republicans to offer only one amendment on the bill to address their concern about the gay rights’ provision.

*Maybe it IS time for US to overthrow the Goverment or just get the fuck out of this country.

Human Rights Campaign STILL Loves Obama But Says Democratic Congress Isn’t Pro-Gay – Shovel That S**t To Cover Your Epic Fail!

HRC and CAP’s Winnie Stachelberg. (She’s a self-appointed leader , as they ALL are, of the LGBT movement, having concocted the controversial and complicated “certification” language in the DADT repeal compromise.) publically gave Obama high words of praise today in today’s Washington Post for finding creative ways to unravel policies that she said have long been unfair to gays. “This administration has really opened up the toolbox that it alone has access to, to address the problems faced by gays and lesbians,” she said.

And, then we have Fred Sainz, a spokesperson for the D.C.-based Human Rights Campaign, says that attention must be paid to the fact that significant strides are being made. “We have largely been in the wilderness the past 40 years since Stonewall. To see this much progress in one and half years makes your head spin.”

Well Fred your head may be spinning over Easter Egg rolls and the ambassador to Samoa but not mine.  What President Obama has done is given us a growing list of small tidbits. He’s given us the table scraps of the civil rights movement. Tasty morsels to be sure, but hardly the meal we were promised.

Stanz and HRC then have the nerve to using the White House line (“oh but for the Congress we could fulfill all your dreams”).

“People wrongly assume that having Democratic majorities in Congress means that your legislative goals will be met. That’s not the case,” Sainz said. Gay constituents are hardly the only member of the Democratic bloc to come up disappointed with this White House. Environmental groups groan as a comprehensive climate bill has languished on the Hill. Organized labor saw its signature legislation, which would make it easier for workers to form unions, go nowhere without the White House’s backing. And women’s groups were in open revolt during the debate over the health care overhaul because of anti-abortion provisions

Well,  you know what Freddy boy?  Congress ain’t gonna get any better for a long time. So if HRC is giving the President and the Congress a pass on our legislative agenda – and that is what they just did, they gave the President and the congressional leadership cover by “admitting” that we can’t expect them to keep their legislative promises – then what’s the point of all of this? We now can only expect these executive branch half-measures that will likely be overturned by the next President? That’s all we’re getting?  Excuse me for being under-fucking-whelmed.

The interminable excuses, while we have, for the first time in a generation, a Democratic president and Congress, are maddening. If HRC, the President and the Congress couldn’t pull it off with the overwhelming majorities in Congress, and the absurdly popular presidency, we handed them in 2008, then we really are doomed.

What an EPIC FAIL!

With The Full DADT Repeal Still Being Ingnored Whats The HRC Doing? DAMAGE CONTROL!

Jarrod Chlapowski
With most of the gay blogs, this one included and independent activists calling out HRC for its gross missteps and wasting of 30 years and literally hundreds of millions of dollars in federal lawmaking efforts, it was only a matter of time before HRC moved beyond Joe Solmonese’s email blasts to reassure donors it’s STILL on the right path. (Even though it’s not)

With Lt. Dan Choi abandoning HRC and now teaming with GetEqual.org and decimating both “Little Joe” Solmonese and the HRC in a recent Newsweek article the HRC, in HIGH damage control mode has trotted out hot and humpy Jarrod Chlapowski, the gay former Army specialist and Korean linguist to prise the Human Rights Campaign’s  of trying to push through a Don’t Ask Don’t Tell repeal in Newsweek the same magazine that Dan Choi blasted them in in the first place.

And make no bones about it that this is a part of a well-orchestrated campaign from HRC to battle back against criticism, and it’d be beautiful were it not so transparent. And considering that HRC has trained reporters to treat them as the go-to gay rights organization we will probably see alot of this shit in the near future.

But first off: so everyone knows because the HRC won’t tell you, Chlapowski, who left the Army in 2005, is not just any old DADT effected vet.  He is HRC’s military consultant which means he acts as an official liaison for the group.

And one source has been reported as saying that, Chlapowski’s answers in the article are “total bullshit,” and are just the beginning of HRC’s blitz to battle back against critics. In fact, HRC initially tried pressuring Chlapowski into signing his name to a statement that it wrote, attacking Choi, but  to his credit Chlapowski refused; the Newsweek piece was the compromise and that “There is more coming,” because “Little Joe” and the leadership is for the moment “more concerned with” defending HRC’s reputation than anything else

And I suppose the “anything else” includes the fight for our rights.

Pelosi Declares Public Option DEAD – I Declare America’s Governing System TOTALLY F@#ked

Nancy Pelosi via Talking Points Memo:

“We’re talking about something that’s not going to be part of the legislation. I’m quite sad that a public option isn’t in there. But it isn’t a case of it’s not in there because the Senate is whipping against it. It’s not in there because they don’t have the votes to have it in there. We had it. We wanted it. They didn’t have it. It’s not in the reconciliation.”

With an overwheling majority of Americans for the Public Option in The Health Care Reform Bill this was the Democrats last chance to not only save the face of their party and their majority in the 2010/2012 Elections, but to also show that our goverment and elected politicans actually listen to the people of America which has now unequivocally been proved  they do not.

In a nutshell, America sucks.
