Via propaganda email from Family Research Council hate group leader Tony Perkins:
Thursday’s hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee wasn’t the first time liberals have tried to use the IRS to do their dirty work — but it might be the most revealing. At a Thursday event that was either unnoticed by the press (or intentionally sidestepped by it), Democrats spent almost three hours bloviating on “How the Tax Code Subsidizes Hate.” Their solution? Strip mainstream Christian organizations — and anyone else guilty of the Left’s version of “hate” — of their tax-exempt status.
“Our tax code,” chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) insisted, “is no place for hate. Groups that propagate white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and hatred for the LGBTQ community, among others, do not deserve a government subsidy through tax exemption. Hate is not charitable…”
This is exactly what conservatives warned about after Obergefell. Before the Supreme Court forced same-sex marriage on the country, President Obama’s solicitor general admitted that faith-based organizations would be the single most vulnerable group in America.
Now, Democrats want to weaponize the IRS against Christian nonprofits and others with whom they disagree. But don’t think for a second that they’ll stop with a list of 60. If they succeed in making the Bible “hate speech,” they’ll march on to America’s churches — and then to anyone with politically incorrect views.
Via press release from Tony Perkin’s Family Research Council:
Before Election Day, Family Research Council Action (FRC Action), announced that it plans to finish distributing nearly 4 million voter guides targeting supporters, churches, activist groups, and state/local organizations.
The voter guide outlines how the candidates stand on pivotal issues like Supreme Court nominations, religious liberty, Obamacare, marriage, abortion, taxes, education, the military, and free speech. A short video comparing the two party platforms is being distributed to thousands of churches to show during services prior to Election Day.
“These issues weigh on the minds and hearts of voters,” said Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins. “It is crucial that voters get the facts before they vote.”
“With the next president selecting up to four Supreme Court justices, this is not a time to seek sanctuary on the sidelines. If we, as Christians, do not take our responsibility to be salt and light and exercise our right to cast an informed vote, we could see a further erosion of our fundamental freedoms,” added Perkins.
“The greatest distinguisher in this election cycle is where the candidates stand on their party’s platform. The GOP has the most conservative platform in recent history while the Democrats have the most liberal. While party platforms are often viewed as political platitudes that have little bearing on how the parties will govern, the reality is the platforms really matter. One study found that Democratic politicians voted about three quarters of the time with their platform while GOP politicians voted nearly 90 percent with theirs,” noted Perkins.
“The platforms are like a rudder on a boat, they guide and provide principles for elected leaders. While the media largely ignores the party platforms after the political conventions, they should play a major role in every voters’ decision-making for 2016,” concluded Perkins.
And all of it tax free since the Family Research Council has a 501c tax free status.
A new and very creepy animated cartoon from the Jehovah’s Witnesses instructs their cultist children how to give their classmates the “good news” about how their gay parents are going to hell before they themselves die of appendicitis or measles because they aren’t allowed to see a doctor.
The mother proceeds to tell the child why same-sex couples are going against the will of Jehovah by comparing gay marriage to a terrorist trying to get through airport security… and telling the daughter that “people can change,” a subtle nod to the widely debunked notion that gay people can turn straight, something JWs believe regardless of the evidence against it. What an awful message to teach your children. That the only way gay people can be truly happy is to deny themselves a loving relationship. That people can just “turn off” the gay switch. That there’s anything wrong with a family that doesn’t resemble your own. That the TSA won’t allow you to bring a bag full of gay genes through the metal detector
When asked to comment about the JW’s cartoon. The Lutheran Church of America’s longtime claymation star Goliath responded: “Gee Davey. What a bunch of scumbags.”
With a nice little money beg and shill for his anti-gay fiction book “No Fear” no less.
Read how you can defend your religious freedom! October 19, 2015
“No Fear.” These are two words I want to encourage you to live by in the days ahead.
Yes, the Supreme Court has forced same-sex marriage on all 50 states. But that doesn’t mean that biblical marriage and our religious freedom are lost. Now, more than ever, we must boldly live and share the truth of the gospel without fear or hesitation.
But standing for truth won’t be easy.
Emboldened by the Supreme Court decision, President Obama, the IRS, Justice Department, Department of Defense, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and even corporate America, are saying with one voice that sexual liberty trumps religious freedom.
Affirming same-sex marriage and accommodating the so-called transgendered will become an official litmus test. The religious organizations that refuse to get in line with this new “morality” will face devastating financial consequences. If radical activists get their wish, many churches, Christian colleges, missions, and other faith-based institutions could lose their tax-exempt status and may have to close their doors!
Think what our country would be like without churches ministering to the spiritual and physical needs in our communities.
It would be a sad day for America.
But that is where we are heading as a nation if we don’t act now. A bill backed by the far-left Human Rights Campaign was recently introduced in Congress that would protect sexual orientation and gender identity in virtually every federal law — all at the expense of religious freedom.
If passed, this sweeping legislation could be used to punish Christians who uphold traditional marriage and adhere to the biological fact that a person is created male or female.
The Human Rights Campaign has even pressured corporate giants to coerce the federal government to target those of us who refuse to surrender their biblical values to those sexual revolutionaries who want to redefine God’s established order.
As I said recently in Kentucky outside the jail where Clerk of Court Kim Davis was being held, “Given the crisis our nation is facing, the time for being a spectator is over! It is time for all God-fearing Americans to take a stand!”
If we think there’s nothing we can do and sit on the sidelines, their radical agenda for your family and mine will become a reality!
I believe God has positioned FRC for “such a time as this.” No other organization in Washington, D.C., does more to further the American values of faith, family and freedom — and we will continue to do so.
Here’s how we are going to push back against this agenda to preserve your religious freedom:
First, we counter the lies of the Left with the truth. FRC is your voice, not only in Washington, D.C., but throughout the country. Our daily Washington Watch radio program now reaches millions across the country. And our timely email and website updates reach millions more.
Second, we mobilize churches to take a stand and not give in to the redefinition of marriage.
Third, we provide those in government with the resources needed to serve and with the facts to counter the lies and half-truths of the Left. Elected officials who want to do the right thing have told me, “I don’t know where we’d be as a nation without FRC.”
Fourth, we defend Christians who suffer persecution for their faith. When everyday Americans face punishment and persecution for living according to their deeply held beliefs, FRC defends them. We not only keep their stories before the public eye, but use our well-established contacts in public interest law firms to help stop the persecution and get them justice guaranteed by our Constitution.
Fifth, we instill friends like you with the resolve to approach the challenges to your faith with NO FEAR. One of your fellow FRC supporters says it best: “There is nobody else who does what you do. When others just kind of stand on the sidelines, you guys are out there advocating for us.”
Stand for truth.
I am often asked by those opposed to FRC, “Aren’t you afraid you are on the wrong side of history?” My answer is always, “No, I’m not. I am more concerned about being on the wrong side of the One who is going to write the final chapter of history.”
That’s why your support today is so important. Your contributions enable FRC to keep Washington Watch on the air, provide key allies in Congress with the critical research they need to legislate wisely, tell America what the mainstream media won’t, and defend your fellow Christians wherever and whenever they are persecuted for their faith.
All that FRC has accomplished, and will accomplish, in defense of faith, family and freedom is due in part to your friendship. Without you FRC would not have the influence it has today. So please help us continue to make a difference by giving a generous gift today.
