Keep it klassy toots!
Trans influencer Rose Montoya has been condemned by the White House and others, (and rightfully so) for blatantly exposing her breasts during the White House Pride celebration event over the weekend.
Montoya posted a montage of herself at the party on Saturday, and after a clip of her meeting President Joe Biden, she included a video of herself topless with two others in front of the Truman balcony.
The White House called the incident “inappropriate and disrespectful” and said it’s “not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families” or other guests.
Not only Conservatives, but members of the LGBT community were also appalled by her lack of respect as the display went viral.
Montoya later posted a video to address the outrage surrounding her antics, saying:
It has recently come to my attention that conservatives are trying to use the video of me topless at the White House to try to call the community ‘groomers’, et cetera. I would just like to say that first of all, going topless in Washington, D.C. is legal and I fully support the movement in freeing the nipple because why is my chest now deemed inappropriate or illegal when I show it off, however before coming out as trans it was not?
All you’re doing is affirming that I am a woman. All you’re doing is saying that trans women are women because for some reason people like to sexualize women’s bodies and say that they’re inappropriate. My transmasculine friends were showing off their top surgery scars and living in joy and I wanted to join them. And because it is perfectly within the law in Washington, DC, I decided to join them and cover my nipples just to play it safe, because I wanted to be fully free and myself. I had zero intention of trying to be vulgar or be profane in any way. I was simply living in joy, living my truth, and existing in my body. Happy Pride! Free the nipple.
Well then.
Just a quick word to Uncle Joe, his Press Staff and LGBTQ+ Liason:
There are literally hundreds of hard working journalists and bloggers fighting for equality online everyday and we have been snubbed year after year by “Gay Inc” types and now childish “Influencers “at White House PRIDE events. Invite US. Those who have fought for years and have been constantly overlooked.
I can guarantee one thing. We know how to behave like adults in public.
I’m over all of these stupid young—and not so young narcissistic folks.
As a woman who loves women, Montoya is one woman who I do not love. Her actions were stupid when we have an administration that supports trans rights. Someone, please throw her back in the closet she came from and throw away the key.
This is neither the time, nor the place To make a statement, all it did was give ammunition to the right wing and give them the impression that all LGBQ look like weirdos. The video of her trying to justify her actions just reinforced how oblivious and narcissistic she is.
While it may have been “legal” in DC, it was still inappropriate. On the other hand, perhaps in a different set of circumstances her question, “…why is my chest now deemed inappropriate or illegal when I show it off, however before coming out as trans it was not?” does make a point. And her statement, “All you’re doing is saying that trans women are women,” really undermines the anti-trans argument that a person’s birth gender is immutable.
