Pete Buttigieg Heckled and Interrupted 4 Times by Homophobic Protesters In Texas

Gay Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was interrupted and heckled by protesters at an event in Dallas, Texas on Friday night

Buttigieg, was speaking at the Dallas County Democratic Party’s Johnson Jordan Dinner Friday when he was interrupted by anti-gay remarks. by the group “Truth and Justice” run by anti-gay nutjob Randall Terry.

The protesters yelled, “Marriage is between a man and a woman,” and, “Repent,” according to CNN reporter DJ Judd, who was in the audience. Judd also filmed footage of a woman being ushered out of the venue for making anti-abortion comments.

After the 4th, interruption Buttigieg continued his speech by saying, “The moment I packed my bags for Afghanistan, I did so to defend that man’s freedom of speech..”

Buttigieg at one point deadpanned saying that it was a “lively room”

Later on Friday night Texas native Beto O’Rourke another Democratic Presidential hopeful, apologized to his competitor for the incident on Twitter.

“Texans don’t stand for this kind of homophobia and hatred. Mayor Pete, we are grateful you came to Texas and hope to see you and Chasten back again soon,” O’Rourke wrote.

This is not the first time Buttigieg has been attacked on the campaign trail for being gay.

In Iowa homophobic “Christian” protesters interrupted his speech screaming about the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which the Bible says were destroyed by what it calls sinful acts, including sodomy.

“The good news is the condition of my soul is in the hands of God, but the Iowa caucuses are up to you,” Buttigieg responded in stride as the protesters were ushered away. “Remember the beauty of our democracy. Everyone here gets the exact same voice and vote. Feels like the numbers are on our side,” he added.

  1. This woman thought it was alright to interrupt someone she didn’t appear to have a ticket to get in and see and hear talk However she certainly kept saying don’t touch me, don’t touch me. I believe the security service should have been able to grab her by the arms and escort her personally out the door. Shut her up sooner than they did allowing her words don’t touch me to interffer with their job. She kept talking loudly enough while recording herself on her cell to use it at some other rally. However when tRump has rallies. The people there not even the security necessarily just grab people and throw them out and it is found acceptable. What gives. Pete Buttigieg deserves the more respect than the P.O.S., tRump, anywhere or time.
I am thankful that Beto sent the message to Mayor Pete and Chasten as he did. Thank you Beto.. Class act!
