“So people are mad because Publix gave money to a candidate that apparently supports the Second Amendment and so they decided to lay down in the middle of Publix. And then also — the student organizer also demanded that Publix give the March for Our Lives group the same amount of money, or double the amount of money, that they donated to this political candidate. Again, anybody else would call that extortion. It’s extortion, let’s be real. I mean, we’re adults, and we need to use proper terminology.
“Publix said, ‘We regret that our contributions have led to a divide in our community.’ OK no, Publix, your donations did not do that. Protesters who cannot abide differing opinions and cannot accept that debate is a natural part of compromise are the ones that led to this divide. Stop throwing up the white flag simply because there exist people on earth who cannot tolerate differing opinions.
“And that’s what this is. It’s intolerance of different opinions. It’s intolerance of how other people choose to live their lives and choose to believe in certain things.” – NRA spokeswitch Dana Loesch, speaking today on NRA TV.

Dear Ms. Loesch, I believe that the students who laid down at Publix were in no way intolerant of your opinions. No, they were intolerant of dying left and right because YOUR organization, the NRA, subscribes to brutal, unethical, and most probably illegal lobbying tactics in order to get your deadly agenda across in this country. It is my sincere hope that you are as worried and uncomfortable as you seem to be with the actions of these students – who are on the front lines of violence due to YOUR policies, paid for and legalized through the NRA’s ownership of quite a few Congress people. May I remind you, with an old colloquialism, to get out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat. And please take note: students are lobbying now as well to let Congress people KNOW that they are being held accountable. Oh, and it is a legal and legitimate lobbying effort, quite unlike your tactic of buying votes. With Regards, Don Larson
