Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Katrina and now the Colorado flooding. Once again gays and lesbians have caused another natural disaster, or so Pastor Kevin Swanson thinks.

According to a Huffington Post article, Pastor Swanson spoke about the deadly flooding at great lengths during a “Generations Radio” discussions with co-host and fellow pastor, Dave Buehner.

Swanson spoke in great detail about how homosexuality has caused the deadly flooding, specifically pointing out openly gay State House Majority Leader Mark Ferrandino, who appeared on the cover of the Denver Post kissing partner Greg Wertsch.

Swanson asked,

“Is this a coincidence that this was the worst year in the history of Colorado, at least if you use God’s law as a means of determining human ethics?”

He pointed out and insulted the state legislators who “committed homosexual acts on the front page of the Denver Post,” which, along with marijuana and abortion rights, prompted the “worst year ever in terms of flood and fire damage in Colorado’s history.”

It amazes me to think that someone who claims to be as “religious” as Pastor Swanson can actually believe that God is punishing humans with these weather events. If he were a true Christian and if he truly knew his Bible, he would know that God promised that He would never punish humanity again after the great flood (cue rainbow, ironically). I wonder if Pastor Swanson has an answer for this?
