Stores Boycott DC Comics “Superman” Over Orson Scott Card, DC Comics Punts With “Personal Views”

Since last week when Back2Stonewall.com  broke the news that DC Comics had hired raging homophobe and anti-gay National Organization for Marriage Board member Orson Scott Card to write their digital-first series ‘Adventures of Superman’. Retailers are now responding with a backlash and refusing to carry any DC Comic penned by Card.

Superman Backlash

Meanwhile DC Comics is punting the problem by responding with a cop-out  statement to the Advocate suggesting that they’ll keep him on  “As content creators we steadfastly support freedom of expression, however the personal views of individuals associated with DC Comics are just that — personal views — and not those of the company itself.”

So by DC Comics deluded rationale it would be quite alright, for a Klansman, or an anti-Semite who actively participates and contributes to any hate agenda to write for them because it’s just thier “personal views.”

To quote Card, “Regardless of law, marriage has only one definition, and any government that attempts to change it is my mortal enemy. I will act to destroy that government and bring it down, so it can be replaced with a government that will respect and support marriage, and help me raise my children in a society where they will expect to marry in their turn. Only when the marriage of heterosexuals has the support of the whole society can we have our best hope of raising each new generation to aspire to continue our civilization..”

Truth,  justice and the American way my ass.
