Liberty Counsel’s Steve Crampton: ENDA Is Insane Because Of Transexuals and “Special Rights”

Steve CRAPton Crampton, the Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the anti-gay hate group the Liberty Counsel (which is affiliated with Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University Law School) took to the air of his ““Faith and Freedom” radio program to start attacking ENDA (The Employment Non-Discrimination Act) saying that its “insane” and to complain that ENDA is not about “equal rights” but rather “special rights” for gays and cross-dressers

CRAPton Crampton stated that if ENDA passed, he could come into work “God forbid,” he said – wearing a dress and would be allowed to use the women’s restroom.  “In years past,” Crampton said, “we had another word for this: it’s called insanity”:

God forbid he could actually come into work as a human being.

While we are on the “Special Rights” bullshit that the religious right throws around so frequently.

When Congress enacted the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 at the height of the civil rights movement, in addition to barring discrimination based on race, national origin, and sex in a wide range of areas, it also barred discrimination based on religion.  Now anti-gay reliogious extremist like to say that homosexuality is “a choice” (which it is not) and therefore any protections would be a considered  ” special rights”.    Religion is a true choice of freewill and already protected by the Government.  So in their eyes protections against discrimination because of religion must also be a “special right”.

Perhaps we should fight to have their “special rights” rescinded using their own argument.
