Actor Brad Pitt, a stanch LGBT ally and longtime same-sex marriage supporter has come a long way from his small town Springfield, Missouri anti-gay roots as proven by his mother Jane Pitt’s bigoted letter to the Springfield News-Leader, that she wrote stating that as a non-Mormon “Christian”, she is still willing to support Mitt Romney for President because he is anti-choice and anti-marriage equality.
“I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.
Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”
It HAS been confirmed by The News-Leader that the writer of this letter is indeed Brad Pitt’s mother.
Unfortunately you can’t pick your parents, and luckily Ma Pitts endorsement is about as relevant as the kid filling the slush puppy machine at your local 7 – 11.
And where I am sure that Brad would never hamper his mother’s “Christian” freedom of speech. I am sure that Brad Pitt is embarrassed and mortified at the moment by his bigot of a mother.
My Mom and I were at opposite poles on just about every subject. What I felt, didn’t reflect on her and likewise; on me. Does it really matter that it’s a celebrity’s Mom that said it, or it it just news because of. Try not to take that path. It lends more in the way of credibility.
My Dad and I was the same way also. BUT if you are going to have something publiclly printed then it opens you up to critism.
I think Brad is kewl and cute as all hell. But his Mom opened herself up for it. No reflection on Brad of course.
