Colorado GOP Lawmaker Who Voted Against Civil Unions Gay Son Is Outed By Her Campaign Manager For Sympathy

In a very strange political move Colorado GOP Rep. Marsha Looper’s campaign manager forwarded an email to  supporters praising her decision to vote down it’s recent civil unions bill but in the email email it revealed that Looper she has a gay son in a blatant attempt to draw sympathy.

Denver Post reports:

It’s  no secret at the state Capitol that Looper is one of at least four House  Republicans with a gay child, but an unwritten courtesy has been to let the  lawmaker be the one to publicly reveal that information.

Looper said she has been asked by some voters  about her son’s sexuality and has answered honestly, but never meant for it to  become so public.

“I’m very, very disappointed,” Looper said, of  the e-mail making its way among El Paso County voters. “These are are very  intimate issues. I love my son. I always will. He has said, ‘Mom, I want my  privacy.'”

Looper who claims that she had no knowledge of her campaign managers use of her son later added to the statement to the paper: “I am disappointed that my campaign  manager forwarded an e-mail that would include any member of my family in policy  discussions.”

Not for one minute do I buy the fact that she didn’t know anything about the email.  Had she not known  anything and even remotely cared about her son, she would have fired the person responsible .

And as for “intimate issues” it’s actually a singular issue: this is an issue of equality vs. discrimination. Hiding behind God or “the will of the voters” only highlights your bigotry.

What mother, worthy of being called a mother, would so willingly throw her  child under a bus?

Republican Colorado Rep. Marsha Looper who obviously loves the power and the money of the GOP more than her own child.

  1. Call her and calmly and politely tell her that you would like to tell her she is a homophobic bigot and should be ashamed of herself. I got her personal voice mail. I doubt that she answers her phone. DO IT:

    Colorado State Representative, District 19
    Office Location: 200 E. Colfax
    Denver, CO 80203
    Capitol Phone: (303)866-2946
