Rep. Fortney Stark (D-CA) introduced the “Every Child Deserves a Family Act” (H.R. 1681) on the 3rd of May. The Act’s intent? “To prohibit discrimination in adoption or foster care placements based on the sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status of any prospective adoptive or foster parent, or the sexual orientation or gender identity of the child involved.”
And, in predicable fashion the Christo-Fascist Zombie Brigade is attacking it as some evil, terrorist plot against the family. Along those lines, the Christianist Hate Broadcast Network hosts hate-monger Chuck Donovan to lament the evils of wanting to make sure children have actual families, not “Families” in the right-wing Christianist meme.
