“Santa Baby” was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt with Henri René and his orchestra on October 6, 1953. The song was a huge hit for Kitt, and she later said that it was one of her favorite songs to record.

\There have been many many covers over the years done by such celebrities as Mae West,  Maria Muldaur, Everclear, RuPaul, Shakira, Madonna,  Macy Gray, Natalie Merchant, Faith Evans, Boney James, Kylie Minogue, The Pussycat Dolls and even Miss Piggy.  But none can hold a candel to Kitt’s original recording.
