976 – EVIL: Republicans John McCain and Marco Rubio Speak Out Against LGBT Equality

GOP SCUM

Despite the fact that the current version of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is virtually worthless because it would not only allow but write into law that all religious organizations, businesses, schools, and even hospitals could discriminate against LGBT Americans legally. Republicans Marco Rubio and John McCain this week both issued histrionic statements this week against the beleaguered bill stating that it would lead to “reverse discrimination” and hurt small businesses.

Said McCain:

“Whether it imposes quotas, whether it has reverse discrimination, whether it has the kinds of provisions that really preserve equal rights for all citizens or, like for example, busing. Busing was done in the name of equality. Busing was a failure. Quotas were a failure. A lot of people thought they were solutions. They weren’t. They bred problems.

I think the young people know we do not need reverse discrimination, they don’t believe in quotas and they don’t believe in some of the programs we saw in the name of racial equality implemented in the past which turned out to be counterproductive,” he said. “Ask people in Boston if busing turned out to be a good idea.”

Marco Rubio on the other hand went the “small business” route claiming that ENDA could lead to “frivilous lawsuits”

Via spokeswoman:

“[Senator Rubio] believes people’s qualifications, performance and honesty are the most important qualities by which they should be judged in the workplace. If you’re a good worker, that’s all that should matter,” spokeswoman Brooke Sammon said. “This legislation goes far beyond protecting workers from discrimination based on sexual orientation, and he is currently studying what kinds of burdens it could impose on small businesses, frivolous lawsuits that could result, and ensuring that religious freedoms under the First Amendment are protected.”

So in a nutshell here’s what we have.  We have a bill that will prohibit LGBT discrimination but will give a free pass to those who do it the most and the GOP still won’t vote for it and probably won;t pass the House anyway and HRC and other LGBT organizations are wasting millions of dollars to try to get it passed.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Human Righst Campaign PRAISES Obama’s Handeling of DADT. UNFU#@KINGBELIEVABLE!

Oh get a load of this……..

Democratic lawmakers are happier with his handling of “don’t ask, don’t tell.” [No they’re not]

The House passed a repeal earlier this year, [it’s not a repeal] but it’s stuck in the Senate. The repeal is part of a massive defense bill, and most Republicans want at least two weeks of debate on that. However, Senate leaders hope to limit the lame-duck session to three weeks, and there are lots of items on the agenda.

The president has been working behind the scenes, calling key lawmakers and having Pentagon officials do so, too. [Obama has reportedly called Carl Levin, who was already on board. Who else did he call? The story says “lawmakers” – who did he call? And who have the Pentagon officials contacted in favor of repeal – name one wavering lawmaker any of them has called.]

“We’ve checked one big box, that military leaders support the policy,” said Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. [No they don’t. Mullen is supportive, while Gates is the reason repeal is on death’s door, because he just had to have his study, and it just had to be completed after the elections. And the rest of the joint chiefs are being a royal pain.]

They’ll check another Dec. 1, when the Pentagon is to finish its study on repeal.

Gay rights groups laud Obama’s effort. “He set out his priorities on this early in the year, and look how far it’s come. It just wasn’t always public,” said Joe Solmonese, the president of Human Rights CampaignSt. Louis Tribune

What a crock of shit!

It’s pretty pathetic that SOLMONSLEAZE and the HRC are now claiming that there’s been a super duper secret plan all along.

Tell me Joe/  What’s  HRC’s secret plan for getting DOMA repealed and ENDA passed in the next three weeks before Congress goes home and we’re screwed for years to come? What’s the secret plan to get UAFA and the federal employees benefits bill passed? For getting the hospital visitation memo, which can easily be ignored by the next president, put into law?

We had the best opportunity in history of making significant legislative progress on DADT, DOMA and ENDA – and a host of other gay rights issues – and HRC, President Obama and the Democratic congress blew it.

You know it and WE KNOW IT.  So don’t try to cover your worthless asses now.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Solmonese and the HRC are nothing more than hopeless, stooges and nothing more than a White House lackey’s who spews the disinformation that are given him. They are a farce and a charlatan organization to continue trying to spin the failures of Obama as a secret plan and other puerile excuses for an out right homophobe who has no intention of ever standing up and actually doing anything substantial to further our rights

It’s time that those in LGBT community are still drinking the HRC kool-aid. STOP. Because supporting this worthless, lyimg, brown nosing waste of an Organization who SELF PROCLAIMS to be our leader has and will continue to do us more harm than good as long as their are Horh d’oeuvre, cocktails, White House receptions and photo-ops available to them.

The Human Rights Campaign’s President Joe Solmonese Wins Fashion Award By Wearing Your Hard Earned Donations On His Back

Well doesn’t that beat all. Worthless HRC President (Little) Joe Solmonsleaze won one of Washington Life’s Best Dressed Awards for 2010!

ELEGANT ACTIVIST: Joe Solmonese. The president of the Human Rights Campaign favors designers Ann Demeulemeester, Billy Reid, and Dolce and Gabbana

With a yearly salary of over $300k a year he can certainly afford Dolce and Gabbana (And his hair plugs) But just remember WHERE his salary comes from.  YOUR donations.  So next time you are scrimping and saving and secretly shopping at Pennys, Sears, or gasp WALMART to save money so you can have some left over to donate to the HRC. Just remember that it’s going for a worthy cause.

Joe’s wardrobe.

The Human Rights Campaign’s WORTHLESS Excuse Why Their WORTHLESS Organization And WORTHLESS President Joe Solmonese DID NOT Back Up Lt. Dan Choi (Video)

This should bring everyones disgust level up to a new all time high with the HRC with the following statement the HRC released on why Joe Solmonese stayed behind for photo op’s while Lt. Dan Choi and Capt. Jim Pietrangelo marched to The White House and handcuffed himself to the fence in protest.

“Today more than 1000 people showed up at a rally – 500 of which signed up to become more involved in the fight to repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’ Joe Solmonese along with Eric Alva and others felt it was important to stay and engage those at the rally in ways they can continue building the pressure needed for repeal. This does nothing to diminish the actions taken by Lt. Choi and others. This is the nature of social change and everyone has a role to play.”

More like “Little Joey Solmonsleaze” stayed behind to cover his lily white ass and not to piss off the White House and to seperate the HRC from Choi’s and Pietrangelo’s actions so he can conti ue to be invited to White House functions it should read.  But get this.  NOW in a LATER statement concerned about the “Lt. Dan Choi Kanye’d the HRC” story being reported on MANY blogs (including this one), the HRC has posted the following elaboration of their earlier statement.

Singer Tom Goss kicked off the event followed by the first American wounded in the Iraq war, retired Marine Staff Sgt. Eric Alva. Also speaking were Ben Mishkin of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network and Alex Nicholson of Servicemembers United. Finally, Kathy Griffin took to the stage, talking about her experiences this week in Washington, welcoming Lt. Dan Choi to the stage to make a few remarks and then calling for a moment of silence to honor our troops who serve in silence.

There’s been some confusion about Lt. Dan Choi’s role in the rally. As Joe Solmonese was walking to the stage, Lt. Choi asked Joe if he could have a speaking role. Joe explained that it wasn’t his sole decision to make on the spot given that there was already an established program that included Kathy Griffin, other organization and veterans. After Choi then spoke with Kathy Griffin, she agreed to bring him up on stage and speak to the crowd during her remarks.

But John Aravosis at AmericaBlog says the HRC statement is “utterly untrue.” Because HE WAS THERE and saw what happened.

That is simply untrue. I was there, standing next to Dan, about 10 feet from Kathy Griffin and Solmonese. They were behind a rope line, to keep them from the rally attendees. They looked over at Dan when he asked them, for the second time, to come with him to the White House (mind you, they had no idea that he was planning to handcuff himself), and they just stared back at him. They were not helping engage the rally about how to build pressure – the rally was over, they were already off the stage, behind it actually, getting ready to leave behind a secure rope line to separate them from the crowd. I’m sorry, but this statement is flat out untrue. They were getting their photos taken. Unbelievable.

AmericaBloh had also posted this Video of Solmonese and Griffin IGNORING Choi and Pietrangelo as they called out to them saying they were heading to the White House.

This has got to be the straw that breaks our back where the HRC is concerned.

Either we take this organization, which supposedly represents us back and DEMAND the firing of Solmonese and the current Board and an immediate retooling of the orgaization and it’s current gadfly statagyor we KILL IT and demand its disbandment.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
