DOMA Repeal Legislation to Wait Until Supreme Court Ruling, Was HRC Involved?

The Washington Blade reports that Legislation to that has been prepared and waiting to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act will have to wait a bit longer and won’t see introduction before the Supreme Court rules on Prop 8 and The Edith Windsor case this June

A number of LGBT advocates familiar with the legislation, which has been known as the Respect for Marriage Act, told the Washington Blade its lead sponsors — Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) in the House and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) in the Senate — are delaying introduction until after the expected court ruling in June.

Fred Sainz, HRC’s vice president of communications, said his organization supports the decision to postpone introduction of the bill until after a decision is reached in the DOMA case, known as Windsor v. United States.“The lead sponsors of the RMA have decided to wait until after the court rules in Windsor,” Sainz said. “We support that decision and look forward to continuing to work with them to advance this important legislation.

Now really. How many of you out there really believe that the HRC had no imput on this decision with Nadler and Feinstein?

Bitches pleeeeeease.

Where on the outside it seems to make sense to wait, remember if the Supreme Court does find in favor of Edith Windsor their decision just invalidates Section 2 of DOMA.  Mark my words in June after SCOTUS is done good or bad then it will be pushed back until after the midterm elections which is what HRC and the Democratic Party wants because they don’t want a hot button issue like this being debated on the floor before elections.
