Donald Trump Condemns Racism Before “Unite the Right” Nazi Rally In DC

Hundreds of white nationalists will gather at Lafayette Square in Washington, DC on Sunday to mark the one-year anniversary of last August’s controversial Charlottesville rally where a woman was killed when a car driven by one of the alt-right protesters purposely drove into a crowd.

Jason Kessler, a prominent white nationalist (aka NAZI), is organizing the rally, which begins with a march at 5 p.m. and continues with speakers in Lafayette Square from 5:30 to 7:30.

“White people should be able to have the same rights as other groups,” he said, referencing what he sees as civil rights abuses by the Charlottesville government against white nationalist demonstrators, and against white people more generally

Meanwhile Donald Trump is trying to distance himself from the rally which is made up of his most ardent supporters.

The Hill reports:

President Trump on Saturday tweeted that he condemns “all types of racism and acts of violence” ahead of the one-year anniversary of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va.

Trump has been under intense pressure to condemn last year’s violence and speak out against white supremacists organizing an anniversary rally set to take place on Sunday.

The president faced significant criticism over his response to the white supremacist rally last August that left one counter-protestor dead, saying that there was “blame” as well as “very fine people” on “both sides” of the rally.

Washington, D.C. has promised tight security for Sunday. According to Police Chief Peter Newsham, guns will be banned from the premises – even for those who hold permits – and the white nationalists will be kept separate from the counter-protesters for which more than 20 different groups have vowed will be there.

Counter protests will begin with a 2:00 p.m. rally in Freedom Plaza. Then, counter protesters will proceed to Lafayette Square, where they’ve obtained permits to demonstrate on the north side, face-to-face with Kessler’s rally. The Metropolitan Police Department Tuesday issued a traffic advisory for road closures on Sunday due to “first amendment activities.”

Organizers say they expect about 1,000 counter-protesters, and the white nationalists could be vastly outnumbered.

To all our readers who will be in Washington, DC this weekend we beg you to be diligent about your safety and avoid physical confrontations at all cost.

Jason Kessler Organizer Of Deadly Charlottesville Nazi Rally Chased From His Own Press Conference [VIDEO]

Jason Kessler, the conservative right-wing blogger  who organized a rally in Charlottesville that sparked violent clashes between white supremacist groups and counter-protesters tried to hold a news conference a day after the deadly event, but a crowd of several hundred booed him and forced him to run away from his own press conference.

Surrounded by cameras and people members of the crowd called for his “indictment for murder”,  chanted and made noises with drums and other instruments as he tried to speak.

Kessler mimicked looking at his watch and indicated he’d wait to speak.

A few people approached him, crossing in front of the line of TV cameras. One man pushed Kessler and then a woman tackled him.

Kessler asked state troopers at the scene for help and eventually they escorted him off. State police said troopers approached the area as the crowd got aggressive but made no arrests.

Kessler managed to say a few things to the gathered media as the state troopers shielded him, including accusing the protesters haranguing him of “anti-white hate.”

He blamed the same “anti-white hate,” and what he said was a failure of local law enforcement, for the violence of the previous day, which he said he condemned.

It’s such a shame that nobody brought any tar and feathers.

Violence Erupts As Torch-Wielding White Nationalists ( Supremacist ) March on University of Virginia - Video

White supremacists holding lighted torches marched Friday night through the University of Virginiai n Charlottesville ahead of Saturday’s far-right “Unite the Right” rally.

Chanting “white lives matter,” “you will not replace us,” and the Nazi-associated phrase “blood and soil,” some of the white nationalists engaged with counterprotesters and scuffles broke out.

Police arrived on campus, declared it an unlawful assembly, and ordered the crowds to disperse.

Teresa A. Sullivan, president of the University of Virginia, said in a statement Friday, “I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the hateful behavior displayed by torch-bearing protestors that marched on our Grounds this evening. I strongly condemn the unprovoked assault on members of our community, including University personnel who were attempting to maintain order.”

Sullivan added, “Law enforcement continues to investigate the incident, and it is my hope that any individuals responsible for criminal acts are held accountable. The violence displayed on Grounds is intolerable and is entirely inconsistent with the University’s values.”

Estimates have suggested that one thousand or some protesters may take part in the Saturday rally. Expectations were that counter protesters might turn out in larger numbers.

Citing the crowds expected and safety issues, the city ordered the rally moved to a larger park away from the city’s downtown. But Jason Kessler, the rally’s organizer, filed a lawsuit against the city that was supported by the Virginia ACLU, saying that his First Amendment rights would be violated by moving the rally. On Friday, a federal judge ruled that the rally should remain at Emancipation Park.
