Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz Deeply Offended By HBO’s TRUE BLOOD “Republic**t” Attack – Video

HBO’s True Blood, which is currently in its last season threw some twists into the Hep-V outbreak including several digs at the GOP *cough*assholes*cough* as well as a bloodbath at a fictional fundraiser for real-life Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Cruz lashed out at the show — currently in its seventh season — in Facebook and Twitter posts Tuesday, calling the episode “misogynist” and “profanity-ridden.” “Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBO’s True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night, they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a “Ted Cruz fundraiser.” Cruz said in a Facebook post published Tuesday. “Well, I’m sorry to have lost the vampire vote, but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends…” Cruz reiterated his disdain for the depiction in a tweet Tuesday afternoon: “Then again, I guess I never had a chance w/ the vampire vote since the dead tend to vote overwhelmingly for Dems.”

Sarah Palin piggybacked on Cruz’s outrage, telling right-wing news outlet Breitbart News that she’s glad she turned down an offer to appear on the show. “The brilliant minds of ‘True Blood’ were brazen enough to ask me to do a cameo on their show, apparently so they could insult a conservative woman in person instead of just all conservative women in general,” Palin said. “Their offer wasn’t presented in any negative way, perhaps to benefit from a surprise factor after the guest appearance. I turned them down anyway.”

HBO has confirmed that the show did reach out to Palin, but did not receive a response.

Palin continued, “”To producers who throw these deceitfully ‘flattering’ bones that sound fun on the surface, is it really any wonder I don’t accept your offers to participate in your shows? Nice try HBO. I’d put any mama grizzly in America against a vampire any day; for only one of them actually exists. The left wants to talk about a ‘war on women’? Keep engaging in your misogynist attacks on women you disagree with and we’ll see who wins your self-inflicted war in the court of decent public opinion.”

“Misogynist,” huh?   I don’t think that Palin or Cruz actually knows what the meaning of what the word means.

Kristin Bauer van Straten, who plays the acid tongued Pam on True Blood and had the best line of the nights episode by declaring  “Oh my God. I’m a Republic*nt!” replied to Palin’s faux outrage at San Diego Comic Con: “I’ve made her angry; I had fun doing it.”

True Blood To BITE IT After It’s 7th Season – CANCELLED!

Next season will be the last season of HBO’s True Blood as the network has decided to stake it and give it the true death after the end of its ten episode, seventh season story arch next summer.

“True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO. Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey. Alan passed the baton to Brian Buckner, who led our fantastic writers and crew in crafting a spectacular sixth season, and he will lead us through the seventh and final season of this amazing show. Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

“True Blood” averaged 4.1 million viewers total  this season during its season finale. Down over 2 million viewers from it’s Season 5 finale’s combined ratings of 6.3 million viewers.

I BLAME THE FREAKIN FAIRIES!  Well that and the fact that Alan Ball and the writers refused season after season to kill off any of the many main characters.

Wait where was I?! Oh yeah I was yelling you why Ryan s an advocate. Ryan joined his fellow castmates to do a PSA for the It Gets Better Project, to help encourage and support LGBT youth and filmed his segment with costar Chris Bauer:

Look, Chris and I are both very much outsiders, as much as it wouldn’t seem like we are, And we’re here to tell you that we don’t think we’re alone. We now know that we’re not alone. And if you also feel like an outsider, feel like that no one is listening to you, believe me there are places to go, there is someone to turn to, there is a comfort, a security network that you can turn to and sort of say, ‘You know what, I have this problem. This person is picking on me.’”

Ryan has always been kind and supportive, and whether that comes from his laid back Australian demeanor or the fact that his younger broither Lloyd is gay and he accepts him completely the fact is that Ryan supports us no matter what and that is what makes him an advocate.

Joe Manganiello Continues To Be Amazing… And HOT!

This past weekend the beautiful Matt Bomer, along with longtime partner Simon Halls, were honored  during GLSEN’s Respect Awards for being a great leader and activist in the LGBT community. During the ceremony, a longtime friend of Bomer, Joe Maganiello gave a touching speech of support before presenting the award:

You are the example that the rest of our country needs to wake up and see in terms of equality and putting an end to the bullying epidemic and making sure that every family is respected in our schools and our society,

This of course isn’t the first time that Maganiello has stood up for equal rights and against bullying. Earlier this year, gave a very heartwarming speech at an HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Gala honoring fellow advocates:

‘While I’ll ever be fully able to understand what it feels like to be judged and precluded from basic civil rights based on my sexual orientation, I do know what it’s like to be prejudged based on what people think they know about me,’ the actor said.

But one thing I wasn’t was a bully, In high school as in life, it is something that I completely abhor. I think every kid deserves to grow up in an academic environment that allows them to express themselves freely.’

‘The fact is I will always know what it feels like to not exactly fit the mold, Growing up is tough for everyone and every single person in this room is painfully aware that it is tougher for some. These young people are looking to us to fight the good fight on their behalf. Keep up the good work HRC, know that I am forever on your side.”

Just another reason to love this guy. I mean seriously LOOK at him

 

Evan Rachel Wood “Miley Is Leaning Towards Gay”

In this is a slow news day news, True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood made an unfriendly anti-LGBT comment about Disney Star Miley Cyrus’s short new hair do. Evan felt it was necessary to comment after Miley made headlines of cutting off her golden tresses.

Evan stated “I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay.” Yeah not cool Evan. You have “a traditionally male oriented” first name and if you’ve ever had jokes made of you because that then that should have been your first clue of why what you said was labeling and wrong. It also implies that you can switch out your sexuality like you can switch out a haircut and that is just not true.

Wood tried to explain herself (and failed miserably) after making such an asinine statement but really only made things worse. Evan wrote a mea culpa via twitter:

“Ok. To be clear. I believe you should be able to joke and have a sense of humor about everything. And i hate explaining, but just to be clear, i dont judge people on how they look. Nor do i associate a hair style with sexuality. I myself am bisexual and have always “joked” about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation. So i “joked” when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, i am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke. Period. could care less what gender she was attracted to. But dont hate me for supporting her in whatever She chooses. Its all fine by me. That is all.”

I’ve never known homophobia and labeling to be humorous. Maybe I’m not a funny person because I didn’t laugh at this one Evan. Having a sense of humor is great, it’s when you say ignorant things is when people get upset. And clearly the only reason you’re upset is because you got called out on it. Again I ask, What the hell does gay look like Evan? Does it look like your irrelevant career?

*  True Blood creator Alan Ball says that Rick Santorum was a base point for Chris Meloni and The Vampire Authority in this seasons True Blood storyline because  ” to have a theocracy in America  is way more terrifying than any fictional monster could ever be.” – And also Santorum SUCKS!

”  Los Angeles right wing loon street preacher screams at Pride atendee’s, “Stop eating your poo-poo!” – What a shithead.

*  All same-sex unions are against Jewish Law, United Kingdom Chief Rabbi’s consultation response says – Ah stuff a Bacon Cheese Burger in your kuglehole Rabbi.
