Stan Lee and MARVEL Dismiss Black Widow and Female Superhero Movies

Black Widow

In a recent interview with Too Fab, the Geekfather of comics Stan Lee revealed that there is no rush in the making a Black Widow solo movie and that before they do a whole slew of male Superhero movies will be done first.

“They are going to do the Black Panther. They are going to use Doctor Strange. They are going to do Ant-Man. They are going to do the Guardians of the Galaxy. And they’ll probably do the Inhumans,” Lee  said in the interview.  But when asked about the Black Widow who was prominently featured in last years hit movie The Avengers, or any female superhero movie Lee stated:

“Well probably at one time … they’ll make a movie of the Black Widow. The thing is the women like these movies as much as the guys, so we don’t have to knock ourselves out to find a female … but we will.”

Greasy Fan Boy misogyny certainly does run deep.

Comic-Con 2010: Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson Introduce The Cast Of Joss Whedon’s "AVENGERS". – (Video)

Marvel chief Kevin Feige called out the A-list cast of their mega comic book adaption, Avengers, due in 2012. The film, which will entwine the stories of Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow and others, has been a dream film most Comic-Conners thought impossible because of Hollywood egos and competing studio rights.
So when Feige called the entire A-list cast to the stage —Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk, a headline unto itself) — the place went nuts.
