HRC Fumbles AGAIN As Stonewall Democrats Stand Up To Defend Barney Frank Against The LCR

Yesterday after Chad Griffin and the Human Rights Campaign were falling all over themselves with faux indignation that Barney Frank stated that the Log Cabin Republicans were a bunch of “Uncle Tom’s” (which they are although Auntie Toms is more appropriate.R. Clark Cooper, head of the LCR responded issuing this statement .

“As far as Log Cabin Republicans are concerned, it’s a badge of honor to be attacked by a partisan hack like Barney Frank. We understand that Barney has earned his protected place within the Democrat Party by being their attack dog on gay rights issues, demonizing Republicans and undermining efforts at bipartisanship that would actually improve LGBT Americans lives. We expect this kind of bile from Barney, especially when it plays into the Obama campaign’s efforts to divide, distract and deceive the American people.”

Fronting Mr. Clean self-loathing Kapo say what?

Of course the grossly overpaid head of HRC Chad Griffin (350k+ a year of YOUR donations) had nothing to say in defense of Barney Frank.  After all how could he after saying that “The Log Cabin Republicans are good people doing good work”

But Jerame Davis, National Stonewall Democrats executive director did and he let loose.

“Barney Frank is a distinguished and honorable public servant. He has faced nearly 40 years of unspeakable hatred and persecution for being the most prominent and outspoken openly gay elected official in the country. Regardless of what he has to say about Log Cabin Republicans, the notion that they would suggest a man as brave and upstanding as Congressman Frank is either cowardly or a bully is both deluded and absurd.

“The true bullies are the hate-mongers in the GOP who want to strip us of our rights and shove us back into the closet. And ‘cowardly’? Cowardly is making pathetic excuses for the backward and misguided anti-LGBT policies of your Party. The Log Cabin Republicans are the most weak-kneed, sycophantic apologists I’ve ever encountered. After their dismal performance at the RNC convention driving the GOP platform even farther to the right, they should give back all the money they’ve fleeced from their donors and close the doors.”

3 snaps and a ohshedidntbutshedidandwasgood to Jerame Davis!

Finally someone in the LGBT community that says what needs to be said.

HRC take note.

Minnesota Stonewall Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Leader: Stop Picking On Dr. Marcus Bachmann!

David Joseph DeGrio, chairman of Minnesota Stonewall Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party thinks that we should all stop picking on Michelle Bachmann’s husband for being effeminate because it makes us look like bullies.

I don’t view saying that someone’s gay is a negative thing, but I believe that perceived sexuality was being used as an attack on Marcus Bachmann, and I find it unacceptable to use perceived sexuality as an attack on anybody. The message I see it sending is a bit hypocritical because we’re advocating for policies in schools to stop this exact thing, saying someone’s effeminate or someone speaks with a high-pitched voice or even [saying] someone is gay because this a gay characteristic.”

DeGiro would have a point IF the attacks on Bachman were unprovoked.  But perhaps DeGiro needs a reminder of these words which came from Marcus Bachmann’s mouth when describing us.  “BARBARIANS. SICK,  and  DISEASED.”

Marcus Bachmann’s effeminacy in and of itself is not what’s funny.  It’s funny that he’s an effeminate, very obviously gay man who’s married to a deranged anti-gay congresswoman, and who went on a rant about how gays are barbarians for not resisting those sinful urges he seems to think everyone has.  Until Marcus Barchmann stops his attempt to “cure” homosexuals, and stops preaching Christianist torture on innocent people, then he has to expect retaliatory remarks.

The waaaay too  UBER -PC LGBT  leaders, especially those who live in the same state and do absolutely nothing to retaliate against Bachmann like DeGiro,  should keep to their ” moral high road” to themselves before they lead us to a  pacifist orgy of extinction.

If anyone should NOT be the head of a group with the name “Stonewall” in it , its obviously  David Joseph DeGrio

Libertarians (aka Tea Party Lite) Ask For The Gay Vote While The Stonewall Democrats Continue Loving Obama

The After the bid to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ failed in the Senate this week the Libertarian Party is now trying to get gay voters on board.

Libertarian Party Chairman Mark Hinkle issued a statement Thursday pointing to the continued ban on gays serving openly in the military and a federal law that lets states not recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere.  “President Obama and the Democrats had almost a year of complete control of the federal government,” Hinkle said. “They could have repealed ‘don’t ask don’t tell.’ They could have gotten rid of the Defense of Marriage Act. But they didn’t do either.” He added that “the Libertarian Party wants to break this self-destructive behavior” by gay voters who continue to support the Democrats  “like abused spouses who keep returning to their aggressors” they need to stop “handing their votes to the Democrats who abuse them.”

In response Michael Mitchell, executive director of the National Stonewall Democrats, which represents gay Democrats, said the Obama administration had done “more for the LGBT community than any other administration in our nation’s history – combined.” .”

You know Micheal thats NOT hard to do but crumbs don’t count.  And statements like that just piss us off more.  And considering that the Libertarian Party is tied to the Tea Party, I don’t think so dude.  But nice try.

IMO perhaps the LGBT Community should meld into the GREEN PARTY and help them organize and start to gain some solid ground in Politics.  Because its become very clear that BOTH Republlicans and Democrats suck.

(Yes Jason Happ and Justin Jeffre’s I did actually say that)

"Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" Ruling Reactions: The Good, The Bad, and the BIZARRE!

Here’s a  look at the reactions that are coming in to yesterdays ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips that #DADT is indeed Unconstitutional.

THE GOOD
American Foundation for Equal Rights “Today’s court decision declaring “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” unconstitutional is yet another significant and long-overdue step toward full equality for all Americans. Along with the recent federal court decisions on DOMA and Proposition 8, it is clear that our nation is moving toward the day when every American will be treated equally under the law, as is required by our Constitution.”

Stonewall Democrats
“Today’s Federal court decision calling the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy unconstitutional on grounds that it violates gay military members’ rights to free speech, due process and open association is another nail in the coffin of the policy.” Mitchell continued, “We’re glad that the Federal court agrees with President Obama’s position: that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell needs to come to an end. Our Senators need to hear from their constituents demanding repeal. We also call on Senate Republicans to rise above the obstructionism they’ve been playing at for months and let a vote happen on what the vast majority of Americans want: repeal of DADT.”

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network
We’re pleased by the judge’s decision, but this decision is likely to be appealed and will linger for years. Congress made the DADT law 17 years ago and Congress should repeal it. The Senate will have the opportunity to do just that this month and most Americans think the Senate should seize it.”

Human Rights Campaign
I’m not posting tthe HRC’s response because I no longer recognize them as a true LGBT Rights Organization and I really don;t give a fuck what thopse posers have to say.

THE BAD

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council (aka Princess Tiny Meat)
“It is hard to believe that a District Court level judge in California knows more about what impacts military readiness than the service chiefs who are all on the record saying the law on homosexuality in the military should not be changed. Once again, homosexual activists have found a judicial activist who will aid in the advancement of their agenda. This is a decision for Congress that should be based upon the input of the men and women who serve and those who lead them.”
 B. Daniel Blatt: Gay Patriot Blogger, GOProud member and all around asshole
“Here we go again. While I believe DADT should have been overturned years ago, I don’t believe it is a court’s role to determine military policy. Let’s just have Congress overturn this law to avoid a prolonged legal battle. [snip] From a quick scan of the opinion, my sense is the judge relies less on the actual text of the constitution and more on twisting past rulings to yield the result she wants.”

THE JUST PLAIN BIZARRE!
