Unable To Get Police Removed From D.C. Pride QPOC Activist Attack Headliner Miley Cyrus

Seething with frustration at not being able to get police removed from Washington DC’s Pride festival and march in June, QPOC (Queer People of Color) activists groups No Justice No Pride DC and the  Black Youth Project 100,  are now setting their sites on  Miley Cyrus will headline DC’s Pride festival concert calling her choice an ‘extension of white gay obliviousness”

This new attack on DC pride and Cyrus supposedly stems from a Billboard interview, Cyrus discussed her musical evolution away from hip-hop and toward country sounds, saying she liked Kendrick Lamar‘s song “Humble”: “I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock,’” she told John Norris. “I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock’ — I am so not that.”

Preston Mitchum, writer and member of Black Youth Project 100 states:  Cyrus “decided to call out the misogyny of black artists, but didn’t call out any other forms of artistry or genres that are also misogynistic,”

Drew Ambrogi, spokesperson at local LGBT activist group No Justice No Pride DC went as far to say that Cyrus is “someone who’s ripped off black culture and profited from it, then in a recent interview has tried to diminish it,”

This is just the latest attack from QPOC activists who feel that PRIDE has become commodified and compromised by sponsorships from certain entities including Wells Fargo. Activists are frustrated with what they describe as a lack of people of color, trans, and other more marginalized individuals in visible and decision-making roles.

“Miley Cyrus headlining Capital Pride is both a manifestation and an extension of white gay obliviousness,” says Samantha Master, another member of Black Youth Project 100. “I just really wish DC Pride and Prides across the country really took into account the needs and experiences of all LGBT people,” says Mitchum, “the LGBT people who are experiencing homelessness, the ones who are impoverished, the ones who are unemployed or underemployed, the ones who experience hate crimes, the ones who don’t get enough attention on TV.”

Cyrus, a longtime LGBT rights supporter Miley Cyrus founded the Happy Hippy Foundation whose mission statement which is “to rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations”

Miley Cyrus will be joining Capital Pride as part of a diverse group of entertainment that includes Tinashe, The Pointer Sisters, and VASSY,” a Pride spokesperson told the Washingtonian in an email. “DC has a homeless youth crisis on our hands, with almost half of all homeless youth identifying as being LGBTQ. Miley and others have actively worked to reduce youth homelessness, particularly among our community.”

Achey Breaky Heart: Billy Ray Cyrus Speaks Out Against NC and MS Anti-LGBT Laws

Billy Ray Cyrus Speaks Out Against NC and MS Anti-LGBT Laws

Singer/Songwriter and Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus has joined the ranks of artists who have spoken out against anti-LGBT laws in Mississippi and North Carolina in recent weeks.

“I would feel negligent to not speak up,” Cyrus wrote in a Facebook post. Cyrus then referenced Bryan Adams’ announcement that he wouldn’t play shows in Mississippi after the state passed a law that outlaws the punishment of people who discriminate against others based on sexual orientation, and his daughter, Miley Cyrus, who has been an outspoken LGBT advocate. “In light of my good friend, Bryan Adams, taking a stand and my daughter having been on the ground floor of this movement, this issue is very important to me.”

He continued, “As a friend and dad… I’ve witnessed this fight from the very beginning. I think everyone should be treated equal. We’ve come too far; we can’t mess this up.”

Craving Publicity Bristol Palin’s Blog Ghostwriter Attacks Miley Cyrus!

Palin Cyrus Fued

Bristol Palin and her ghostwriter on her Patheos blog.  (Cause lets face it we know its not Bristol writing it. ) is attacking  Miley Cyrus  for what she calls the pop star’s hypocrisy when it comes to asking for tolerance.

Cyrus who did an interview with Paper Magazine this week (along with a nude photo shoot)  talks about her sexual identity, calls her parents “conservative-ass motherfuckers,” ridicules the “fairy tales” of the Bible.

“Is it just me,” Palin  asks, “or does it seem more than a little fake that someone claiming to be accepting of everyone and everything would spew such judgment towards her own parents and their deeply held religious beliefs?”

“She wants everyone else to let her be ‘free to be Miley,’ but seems unwilling to offer the same respect to her parents and those who wish to live out their Christian faith,” she added.

The post ended with a sarcastic aside to the “Adore You” hitmaker. “Oh, Miley,” Palin wrote. “Thanks for giving us the best example of what ‘tolerance’ looks like in Hollywood: It looks a lot like contempt.”

Of course Palin’s attack is as fake as her blog writing since Miley actually voiced her displeasure over Christian fundamentalists LEGISLATING their beliefs, not having them.  (Reading comprehension is an actual thing Bristol)

Another desperate attempt for  publicity after becoming a has.-been  from Bristol “I’m such a model for deeply held religious beliefs that I had a kid out of wedlock. Never got married TWICE. And I am role model of Christian purity that gets drunk and wails on people in a crowd with my family!” Palin.

Miley Cyrus: I’m Pansexual! (God Love Her.)

“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult — anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl. I remember telling her [Miley’s mother] I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys. And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has.” – Miley Cyrus, speaking to Paper Magazine.

Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is sexual attraction, romantic love, or emotional attraction toward people of any sex or gender identity.

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber: Miley Cyrus is SATAN!

Fat Matt Barber Liberty Counsel

“We have arrived. Shame on you, America. Our children – our adults – are depraved. They are ‘occupied’ by envy. They attack innocent people, beating and killing them for sport. They murder one another in the streets without love or mercy. They disobey, gossip, slander and hate God. They are insolent, arrogant, boastful ‘little monsters.’ They invent ways of doing evil. Hannah Montana is what America once was. MTV Miley is America today. She ‘evolved’ because we ‘evolved.’ You saw it on display. It’s ugly. It’s Satanic.” – Failed boxer, failed insurance agent, and current hate  group leader Matt Barber, writing for World Net Daily.

Matt, let’s not put the cart before the hos. You’re just upset because you know that you should have been turned on, but instead you were wishing it was YOUR fat ass was twerking against Robin Thicke.

Evan Rachel Wood Talks About Being Bisexual

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has always been vocal about her sexuality and elaborated on an interview about it several years ago. Here’s more:

Evan Rachel Wood is vocal about her sexuality. “I felt like now was the time to no longer be silent about it,” she told The Daily Beast in reference to her coming out as bisexual in 2011.

The 25-year-old actress, probably best known for her roles in “Thirteen” and “True Blood,” is one of the few openly bisexual celebrities — others include Anna Paquinand Megan Fox. She told The Daily Beast that she waited to come out publiclybecause she wanted it to be the “right time.” “I wanted to wait … to have enough years under my belt where people knew that it wasn’t a phase or anything and I wasn’t doing it for attention; this is a part of who I am, and I’m old enough to really know who I am by now,” she said.

It would have been nice if Wood had remembered that when she made some questionable comments last year toward Miley Cyrus when she got a very short haircut. But she apologized for that and its nice to see people making bisexuality more visible.

Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Her Love For Her Gay Fans

Happy New Year! I was going to write an Op-Ed to greet the new year but like most of you I am beyond exhausted and just want some light reading. So here’s some entertainment star news by way of singer Miley Cyrus and why she loves her gay fans. Cyrus especially loves her gay UK fans because being gay is more accepted in that region:

“When I go to London that’s what it is. I feel like they are so much more open, much more than here in the U.S. when they’re feeling trapped, where it’s like, ‘Can I even say I believe in gay marriage? Can I say that my favorite fans are my gay fans? Am I allowed to say that, because half of America is still against it?'”

Along with having a tattoo advocating for marriage equality, Cyrus has always been a supporter of equal rights:

“I believe every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties, Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color?”

Awesome way to show support Miley! Greatly appreciated. Also, hat do we think of this hair on her? I really like the edge on her. Not many can pull this look off but she’s working the hell out of it.

Evan Rachel Wood “Miley Is Leaning Towards Gay”

In this is a slow news day news, True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood made an unfriendly anti-LGBT comment about Disney Star Miley Cyrus’s short new hair do. Evan felt it was necessary to comment after Miley made headlines of cutting off her golden tresses.

Evan stated “I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay.” Yeah not cool Evan. You have “a traditionally male oriented” first name and if you’ve ever had jokes made of you because that then that should have been your first clue of why what you said was labeling and wrong. It also implies that you can switch out your sexuality like you can switch out a haircut and that is just not true.

* Here’s the haircut in question  (cute. She’s rocking it and most importantly IT WILL GROW BACK)

Wood tried to explain herself (and failed miserably) after making such an asinine statement but really only made things worse. Evan wrote a mea culpa via twitter:

“Ok. To be clear. I believe you should be able to joke and have a sense of humor about everything. And i hate explaining, but just to be clear, i dont judge people on how they look. Nor do i associate a hair style with sexuality. I myself am bisexual and have always “joked” about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation. So i “joked” when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, i am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke. Period. could care less what gender she was attracted to. But dont hate me for supporting her in whatever She chooses. Its all fine by me. That is all.”

I’ve never known homophobia and labeling to be humorous. Maybe I’m not a funny person because I didn’t laugh at this one Evan. Having a sense of humor is great, it’s when you say ignorant things is when people get upset. And clearly the only reason you’re upset is because you got called out on it. Again I ask, What the hell does gay look like Evan? Does it look like your irrelevant career?

Miley Cyrus Stands Up For LGBT Equality and Same Sex Marriage In Glamour Magazine

Who in a million years would have predicted that little Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus would grow up to be one of the most vocal celebrities to stand up and beat the drum for LGBT equality and same sex marriage.

In the March issue of Glamour magazine Cyrus wrote:

Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do—you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, “All LOVE is equal,” a lot of people mocked me—they said, “What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!” And I said, “Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.”

The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, “Dude, everyone lay off.” Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?

I believe every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties. Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color?

One day I read online about the head of Urban Outfitters donating to a presidential candidate who does not support equality for everyone. I was shocked and disappointed that a company with such diversity would exclude such a large group of people. I can no longer bring myself to shop there.

We all should be tolerant of one another and embrace our differences. My dad [country singer Billy Ray Cyrus], who is a real man’s man, lives on the farm and is as Southern and straight as they come. He loves my gay friends and even supports same-sex marriage. If my father can do it, anyone can.

This is America, the nation of dreams. We’re so proud of that. And yet certain people are excluded. It’s just not right.”

We need more celebrities like you to promote LGBT equality and same sex marriage on their own without having to be asked to do it by Gay Inc. (HRC, GLAAD, or NGLTF.)

Thank you Miley.

(And I don’t care what anyone says Billy Ray Cyrus is a big ole humpy DILF)
