Roy Horn, half of the famous Siegfried & Roy magic and entertainment act in Las Vegas, has died after being infected with the coronavirus.

Partner Siegfried Fischbacher released the following statement:

Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend. From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried.

Roy was a fighter his whole life, including during these final days. I give my heartfelt appreciation to the team of doctors, nurses and staff at Mountain View Hospital who worked heroically against this insidious virus that ultimately took Roy’s life.”

Roy Horn’ tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in mid-April and had been responding well to treatment”. However, his condition deteriorated and he died at the age of 75 on May 8 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman (ran as Independent, really a Republican) perched CNN host Anderson Cooper’s last gay nerve after offering a series of befuddling batshit crazy counterfactuals to his interview questions.

Goodman’s  “Hunger Games” or survival-of-the-fittest approach to reopening the strip is leaving jaws agape to all who sees her interviews. “Assume everybody is a carrier,” the mayor told MSNBC’s Katy Tur on Tuesday. “And then you start from an even slate. And tell the people what to do. And let the businesses open and competition will destroy that business if, in fact, they become evident that they have disease, they’re closed down. It’s that simple.”

Goodman has the nerve to call the Nevada governor’s stay-at-home order — which “insanity”  but offers a truly lunatic example of how to re-open Sin City and who is responsible for visitors and locals safety. (Hint: Its not her.) She insisted that competition, not government oversight, was the answer saying that it is up to the businesses in Las Vegas to figure out social distancing. She said that her days were full, trying to help people get back to work.

At one point, Cooper showed a report from Chinese researchers that outlined how the virus spread in a restaurant.

“This isn’t China. This is Las Vegas, Nevada,” she interjected.

“Wow, that’s really ignorant,” he said.

“That’s ignorant to say?” she asked.

And on it went. At one point during the interview, Cooper took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.

The Justice Department announced that Conor Climo, 23 a suspected Neo-Nazi was charged Friday in connection to bomb-making materials after it was discovered that in encrypted online conversations in White Nationalist chat groups this year he discussed making Molotov Cocktails and explosive devices, used anti-Semitic and homophobic slurs, and discussed attacking an area synagogue and surveilling a gay bar for a domestic terrorist attack.

Climo was arrested Thursday morning following an FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation and made his first appearance before a judge Friday afternoon.

“Threats of violence motivated by hate and intended to intimidate or coerce our faith-based and LGBT communities have no place in this Country,” U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich said in a statement. “Law enforcement in Nevada remains determined to use the full weight of our investigative resources to prevent bias-motivated violence before it happens.” 

Prosecutors say Climo was in communication with individuals who belong to a white supremacist organization that the Justice Department says promotes attacks on the federal government, minorities and the LGBT community. 

Authorities say they seized a notebook during Climo’s arrest with several hand-drawn schematics for a potential Las Vegas-area attack and drawings of timed explosive devices. 

Climo faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Cory Booker, and Bernie Sanders attended services and campaigned at an anti-LGBT Las Vegas Baptist church led by a pastor preaches “homosexuality is a sin and is “enough to send you to hell.”

Harris spoke at Las Vegas’ Victory Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday morning while Booker spoke on Saturday night while Sen. Bernie Sanders  held a town hall at the church last month.

The Mercury News reported that Rev. Robert E. Fowler Sr.’s and the church’s stand on homosexuality is well known and easily searchable. The Las Vegas Review-Journal covered the provocative pastor in 2017 and Fowler himself spoke publicly about the subject long before that.

In a 2013 interview Fowler stated: [W]hether you commit adultery, whether you commit fornication, whether you’re a child molester, you gossip, you lie, you cheat on your taxes, you don’t pay your tithes, things of that nature — all of that is wrapped together as sin, along with homosexuality.”

So far only Harris’ campaign has released a statement saying that the California lawmaker’s “support and advocacy for LGBTQ equality has been unwavering throughout her career. She will continue to visit houses of worship across the country to address congregants about the pressing issues we face as a nation.”

Las Vegas Gay Couple Attacked At Home While Neighbors Watch And Do Nothing

A Las Vegas, Nevada gay couple were attacked and assaulted outside their house in an anti-gay hate crime while their neighbors watched and did nothing to help them. 

On Thursday night, Charles Clements drove to pick up his boyfriend, Vincent, from the Walmart where he works. When they arrived back at their Las Vegas home, both Vincent and Clements encountered the two attackers.

Vincent, said he recognized one of the attackers as someone he works with at Walmart. 

“I was about to unlock the door, the next thing I hear, (Vincent) he’s calling my name.” 

“I come back, I see my boyfriend fighting with the guy.”

Clements said he and his boyfriend were specifically targeted because they are gay..

“It was all about gay bashing,” Charles said. “The guy came up to my boyfriend’s job, calling him an abomination, calling him fag.”

The fight eventually moved onto the front porch of the house, where a glass table shattered.

“There was a lot of glass on the floor so the guy came around,” Clements said.

“He picked up the glass. I was like, ‘Don’t do that.’ And he started stabbing my boyfriend in the back. The guy was kicking him in his ribs,” he added.

Clements said he got hit in the head with a piece of glass. Both he and Vincent were hospitalized following the alleged attack. Vincent has two broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Clements said his neighbors witnessed the assault but that no one called the police or interceded to help.

Police  are investigating the incident but no arrests have been made.

Cities across the country are turning down the opportunity to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, where Donald Trump is expected to be nominated for a second term.

“Most of the cities that have turned down the RNC are Democratic cities,” said Evan Siegfried, a New York-based Republican strategist.

“Their leaders do not want to suffer blowback with their residents for hosting Trump and neither do they want to have local business owners angry because protestors smashed their store windows.”

Any convention attracts protestors, but the interest and passion stirred up in the Trump era, breathlessly covered by cable news networks, is expected to attract throngs of presidential critics to a host city in 2020.

Adam Bruns, managing editor at Site Selection magazine, said any city hoping to host a mammoth event like a political convention would have to take security, protests and disruption into account.

“Unlike most corporate site selections, conventions bring armies of protestors — virtually a complete menu of side evens with their own security and traffic demands,” Bruns said.

Only three cities are even in the running to host the GOP in 2020 — and only one, Charlotte, N.C., is public and open about its interest.

As for the Democrats they are currently reviewing bids from at least eight cities.

Well for the RNC they can always have it at Mar-a-Largo!

Rose Marie, Actress and Comedy Legend, Passes Away at 94

Television, Broadway and comedy legend Rose Marie, best known for her role as Sally Rogers on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” died Thursday.  She was 94 years old

During a career that spanned nine decades, Rose Marie — who went only by her first name professionally — was also famous for appearing for years on the game show “The Hollywood Squares,” and doing numerous shows in old Las Vegas.

Rose Marie rubbed shoulders with some of the most famous names in show business and beyond. She sang for Presidents Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, and Franklin D. Roosevelt and was hired by Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel to perform in Las Vegas along with Jimmy Durante.

Carl Reiner, who created “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” tweeted Thursday of his sadness at Rose Marie’s death, saying “there’s never been a more engaging & multi-talented performer.”

Rose Marie starred as Baby Rose Marie in several of the earliest talking films, according to The National Museum of American History. She donated several personal items to the museum, including her trademark black hair bow and shoes from her radio days.

Rose Marie was married to trumpeter Bobby Guy from 1946 until his death in 1964.

Rose Marie is survived by her daughter, Georgiana Marie Guy.

Alt-Right “Christian Warrior” Arrested For Plotting Mass Shooting Of ‘”Gays, Faggots, Lesbians and Satanists.”

Bryce Cuellar, 24, was arrested by Las Vegas police and charged with making terrorist threats after posting a disturbing YouTube video threatening to slaughter “gays, faggots, lesbians and satanists,” reports KTNV.

Calling himself a “Christian warrior,” Cuellar bragged that he would use his weapons as the Founding Fathers intended, killing,” gays, faggots, lesbians and satanists.”

Cuellar reportedly beat his wife hours after posting the video on YouTube, where he displayed his weapons while wearing a Kevlar vest and sporting night-vision goggles.

Following his arrest, Cuellar admitted to making the video but said that he was “angry and drunk” at the time, and has no intention of murdering anyone.

“Nike Just Did It” and has fired boxer and Philippines Senate candidate Manny Pacquiao after the boxer made homophobic comments that claimed gay people were worse than animals.

“We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent. Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community,” Nike said in a statement. “We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao.  Any recent remarks made by Manny Pacquiao reflect his personal views. Nike is strongly opposed to discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of GLBT individuals”

TMZ adds to its story:

Multiple sources connected to the situation tell us Manny personally tried to save the deal up until the last minute.

We’re told several members of Manny’s team had been communicating with Nike all morning — begging the company to reconsider and give Manny another chance.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. who beat Pacquiao in the so-called “super fight” last May, when asked about Pacquiao’s comments said “We should stay positive. We should let people live their lives the way they want to live their lives. I don’t have nothing against anyone…To each his own.”

Pacquiao, who is campaigning to move from the House of Representatives to the Senate in the Philippines, originally said: “If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals.”

Pacquiao later offered a weak apology, but stood by his opposition to gay marriage saying:

“I’m sorry for everyone who got hurt due to my comparison of gay people [homosexuals] to animals,” he said (via CNN). “It was my mistake. Please forgive me for those who I’ve hurt. But this does not change my position against same-sex marriage. That’s what I believe. My only mistake is comparing gay people to animals.”

Pacquiao  is training for his third bout against Timothy Bradley on April 9 in Las Vegas which is currently be called upon to be cancelled.

Viva to the  Las Vegas CBS affiliate for doing some investigative reporting and finding out that some of Las Vegas’ most famous wedding chaples, including the Elvis Wedding Chapel are REFUSING to marry same sex couples:

After making calls to about 15 wedding chapels, 8 News NOW found that several of them refused to perform wedding ceremonies for same-sex couples. The Elvis Wedding Chapel, which welcomes traditional and Elvis-themed weddings, said they wouldn’t marry same-sex couples. However, when the 8 News Now cameras were rolling as we tried to get their stance on camera, they refused to open the door. “I’m not going to tell you,” David with the Elvis Wedding Chapel said, “It just — there is no story here.”

Dolly Deleon, the owner of the Vegas Wed Chapel, said she’s a born-again believer in Jesus. “My faith won’t allow me,” Deleon said. She said she’s been asked to wed same-sex couples before, but has found that mostly people accept it when she says no. She did not know that a couple who is turned away based on race, sex, or sexual orientation could file charges against her. That could then lead to a misdemeanor arrest. “I would be a hypocrite if I said I’m a Bible-believing person and yet I would perform marriage that believe is solely against God’s law,” Deleon said.
