For the second time in just a few days, hate graffiti found on the UC Davis campus is being investigated as a hate crime.

Anti-gay words and phrases were found spray-painted on the campus Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center on Saturday morning, the latest in a series of incidents on University of California campuses across the state.

The graffiti at the Davis LGBT Center drew comment from students who said such incidents are rare on campus.

“You don’t normally hear about hate crimes here at Davis,” said Giselle Camarillo. “That’s just really surprising.”

The Center’s staff have vowed to leave the graffiti up as a reminder that intolerance still exists.
