Stick A Fork In Him HE’S DONE! – Kevin Hart: No Oscars For Me, I’m Over It [VIDEO]

Deadline Hollywood reports:

“I’m over it,” Kevin Hart told Good Morning America multiple times when asked about the Oscar-hosting controversy that has dominated headlines for weeks.

Hart appeared on ABC  to talk about his new movie The Upside, but, given that ABC broadcasts the ceremony, took more questions about being offered the Oscar job, then stepping away when homophobic remarks from years ago were re-visited.

“There’s no more conversation about it. I’m over that, I’m over the moment,” he told Michael Strahan. It became increasingly clear last week that the Academy would move forward with plans to go host-less, as Deadline reported, with multiple big stars taking the stage in short stints rather than have one start-to-finish emcee.

Oh No She Didn’t! – Ellen DeGeneres Forgives Kevin Hart [Video]

Ellen DeGeneres’ attempted to play peacemaker between The Academy, the LGBT Community and Kevin Hart

And it is rightfully blowing up in her face.

In an interview with DeGeneres on Thursday that was was to air on Monday, but was moved to Friday Hart says he is “evaluating” reprising his role as the 2019 Oscars host after DeGeneres called the Academy to vouch for him.

DeGeneres went as far as to call the Academy to “vouch” for Hart.

“I called them, I said, ‘Kevin’s on, I have no idea if he wants to come back and host, but what are your thoughts?’ And they were like, ‘Oh my God, we want him to host! We feel like that maybe he misunderstood or it was handled wrong. Maybe we said the wrong thing but we want him to host. Whatever we can do we would be thrilled. And he should host the Oscars.'”

DeGeneres went on to defend Hart.. “As a gay person. I am sensitive to all of that. You’ve already expressed that it’s not being educated on the subject, not realizing how dangerous those words are, not realizing how many kids are killed for being gay or beaten up every day,” said DeGeneres.

She added: “You have grown, you have apologized, you are apologizing again right now. You’ve done it. Don’t let those people win — host the Oscars.”

DeGeneres continued to stand by the interview, writing on Twitter, “In this conversation, @KevinHart4real was authentic and real, and I’m in his corner.” She also wrote that she believes in second chances.

Ms DeGeneres needs to understand that when she speaks as a “gay” person that she is not speaking or representing the whole of the LGBT community only herself and she should say as much.

As for believing in second chances perhaps Ellen will end her feud with Kathy Griffin who we all stand behind and who’s career has been hurt and tarnished far more than Hart’s by a much bigger and more malicious enemy.

Kevin Hart Steps Down as Oscar Host Amid Anti-Gay Comments/Tweets Controversy

Kevin Hart Steps Down as Oscar Host Amid Anti-Gay Comments/Tweets Controversy

Thursday night comedian Kevin Hart announced as the host for the upcoming 91st annual Academy Awards.

Hart’s withdrawal as host comes after a major backlash from the LGBT community outcry over  anti-gay tweets, and comments Hart made during stand-up routines in the past.. Some of the tweets were deleted throughout the day on Thursday, leading to an Instragram video from the comedian that only made matters worse for him.

“My team calls me, ‘Oh my God, Kevin, everyone’s upset by tweets you did years ago,’” he said in that video. “Guys, I’m nearly 40 years old. If you don’t believe that people change, grow, evolve as they get older, I don’t know what to tell you. If you want to hold people in a position where they always have to justify the past, do you. I’m the wrong guy, man.”

Hours later, Hart posted another video stating that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had given him an ultimatum: Apologize or we’ll find a new host.

“I chose to pass on the apology,” Hart said defiantly. “The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it. I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different place in my life.”

Less than two hours later, Hart announced via Twitter that he was stepping down (pushed?) from hosting the Oscars.

“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars,” he wrote. “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love and appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”

The Academy refused to comment about Hart’s announcement.
